...and we acquired our franchise "best" 12 straight lost game. Halfway from tying the 1889 Cleveland Spiders for the longest MLB losing streak in history. We go for 13 straight losses today... until the Astros f:censored:ing step up!

Enjoy your baseball today!

More trades!
Houston 3B Chris Johnson to Arizona for two minor leaguers.
Milwaukee C George Kottaras to Oakland for P Fautino De Los Santos.

That trade sucks. We trade away Roberts because we have too many infielders, then we acquire another one!?!

WTF.

Screw Kevin Towers.

Edit: no hope for a win today.

LOSING STREAK OVER!!! We won 9-5 over the Pirates to snap our 12-game losing streak. The Astros led 9-3 heading into the 9th, and I would be damned if we choked this one. This is still only our second win since the All-Star Break. Still- any win you get is golden. I think this is now our 35th win of this season. We're now just playing to avoid being last place for the second straight season (Colorado has the 2nd worst record... or is it San Diego?). Up next- a road trip that includes trips to Milwaukee and Atlanta.

One in a row! How about you all?

A note I forgot to pass along is that Chris Johnson was traded to Arizona in exchange for two minor leaguers. I guess that will only increase our chances of playing so lackluster. Is our rebuilding situation THAT bad to where we've had to give up so many players in an already lost cause of a season?

Chris Johnson will likely shine with Arizona. So enjoy him, D-Backs.

I'm pissed about that actually. I don't care if he turns out to be good for us. They drop one of our best players (IMO) and a favorite with the fans because, and I quote: "Too many guys on the left side of the infield."

So after it's a done deal they trade a minor leaguer for another 3rd baseman?

Bunch of crock. There has to be some other reason they ditched him. Either way it's something that didn't need to happen.

Split with D-Backs. Now to get destroyed by SF.

Yeah, hated you today. Now I'll be rooting for you.

Rumor is that Bloomquist may be gone soon.

So after sweeping the Brewers at home this week (first sweep at home this season) the Phillies looked like they were finally getting it together again and might, maybe, just possibly, be getting back into the thick of things.

Then they drop three in a row in Atlanta. :grumpy: :ouch: :banghead:

Phillies have announced they are sellers. What's confusing is that they may have waited too long and now they might have to settle for little for Victorino.

Boston has no idea where they are, as they want to acquire good players but also want to shed themselves of Beckett.

The Astros will try to salvage whatever season is left by going on a little road trip. We're a GREAT road team (note my sarcasm). It's three games in Milwaukee starting tonight. Atlanta comes calling next.
What's the next series for your team(s)? Good luck to all of your team(s).

One last thing... I feel sorry for the poor sap who hit that would-be homer and ran the bases, even though the hit was foul, then got struck out on the very next pitch. I can laugh about it because at least it wasn't my Astros who had that blunder.

Good old Carlos Gomez. There's a reason we traded him lol.

Reed Johnson has been traded..... I have no idea where.

Mesoraco gets tossed and likely will be suspended for bumping an ump. Grandal hurts his oblique.

Teixiera hurt.... something on his hand/wrist area.

LAA bombs Oswalt.

Phillies have completely forgotten how to do a proper firesale. (HINT: It is NOT asking for another team to pay all of a player's salary AND get top prospects in return.)

Did I miss anything?

Kendrys hit two homers in an inning. One from each side of the plate. One a grand slam. Trout did work too.

The biggest thing of all. Ervin didn't pitch that badly.

The Fighting Unknowns have also acquired Geovany Soto. I have an idea where Soto is going. I know Johnson is not going to the Pirates.

Apparently Soto to Rangers. Napoli may have been in the package.

You wish  Rangers trading away Napoli in a deal for Soto is utterly moronic.

Brigham on the return to Chicago.

Johnson is not going to Detroit, SF, LAD, Cleveland or Pittsburgh. That eliminates 20% of the teams that do not have him on their roster.

Was at the game. Disappointed in the result but there were a ton home runs so I can't say I didn't have fun.
