Enjoy Memorial Day baseball, everyone. Here in Houston, we're hosting the Colorado Rockies in another National League family reunion. I still remember my Astros dealing Willy Taveras to the Colorado Rockies long ago. This will be a two-game set here in Houston between HOU and COL- both daytime games.

We just won! It was a 3-2, 12 inning win for Houston on a Walf-off ground ruled double by Brandon Barnes. Colorado outhit us by at least eight hits, but we still made the most of our nine hits and no errors. This quick series continues tomorrow afternoon here in Houston.

(By the way, this is the first Walf-Off win this season for the Astros.)

One game down, one to go. Bullpin damn near gave it away in the 9th. Great effort from Skaggs, even got his first hit.

The Reds took the first of a split 4 game series (playing 2 in Cincy and heading upstate to finish the series) between themselves and the Tribe. Nice to win against an above average ball club. And I think Votto has finally found his power since his injury last year. He has been homering like crazy lately.

2 game winning streak. Okay what joke is someone playing on me to think that they can be a good team. Niese pitched well and once again there were timely hits.

Great finish. Pennington hit that perfectly.

EDIT: He is the Dubble Bubble king!

Found this gif amazing.

This composite clip shows six pitches of varied location that Cabrera not only hit with power, but for home runs. The footage has been synchronized to the time of contact and stabilized at home plate to represent the end location of each pitch as accurately as possible. The pitches are taken from the last year, with the furthest off the plate over nine inches inside.

Astros lost 2-1 today to Colorado. They are now 15-37 (I think). This home-home series now shifts to Denver for two games. More losing for Houston's baseball team. Same old song and dance, but what the hell can we do about it until we actually become contenders again?

So yeah. More losing. Yay.

Quite the hitters duel in New York. Matt Harvey is being compared to Dwight Gooden.

That's... 3 in a row? Mets come back against the Yankees to win... again, 2-1. Second straight loss by a team that hasn't lost previously when leading after 6 innings. Also this is the first time in Mariano Rivera's career that he has blown a save and not recorded an out. Harvey's ERA I think goes down slightly but its still below 2.

You're exactly right. Sadly.

Great pitching by both teams. (expect Rivera)

Phils defeat Boston 3-1 in Fenway behind a brilliant four-hitter by Cliff Lee. Papelbon makes his first appearance in Fenway since leaving two years ago, retiring David Ortiz for the final out. How awesome is that?

Now a 4 game winning streak. Another victory over the Yankees. Going for the improbable season sweep tomorrow.

I support any team that not only beats, but sweeps the Yankees.

And I've been pretty impressed with Pittsburg these last 3 games against the Tigers. It's hard to believe they haven't had a winning season in ages when they have an all around sound team.

If they play a 19 inning game this year, their season is over. Those did them in the last two years.

Where did the Mets come from? For that matter, where'd my Yanks go? That's right, they're all on the DL. At least we get Teixeira and Youkilis back on Friday. I hope they last longer than Granderson did. :nervous:

Tell pitchers not to throw at them then. Granderson pissed someone off twice as both injuries were due to HBP.

The Astros won 6-3 in Denver on Wednesday night. We won our 16th game of our hapless season.

How 'bout them Dodgers? :sly:

I like watching them squirm after all that money they spent last year. And here we are (AZ) using rookies because some of our star players are injured and just hanging on to first place in the West. Long hard road trip in front of us, hopefully we can hang on to that spot.
