Giants! Now looking for their third win in a row!

So yeah, with SF out of the Wildcard by 15 games, I shift my attention to the Yankees, who aren't doing too well either. This business with A-Rod is really just stealing headlines from Rivera...

That said, I'm now watching the A's. I would watch the Angels, but their team is SOOOO stacked, and they have yet to do anything with it.

No way the Angels are stacked.

If Joe Blanton is a pitcher for your team you arent stacked. Joe Blanton has to be the worst pitcher in the MLB. God he is ****ing terrible.

Charlie Manuel out as manager of Philadelphia, Ryne Sandberg is in.

Rather ironic that a ceremony for Charlie had been planned for the first home game to celebrate his 1000th career managerial win (which came in Atlanta Monday night).

Amaro's reason for the timing was to start getting a look at Ryne Sandberg as an MLB manager before committing to a contract. I can sort of see his point, but still the timing on it sucked.

My Astros won 8-2 at Anaheim last night in this battle of last place AL West teams. We were leading 4-2 in the Top of the 9th when I checked into the game after Midnight (CDT). A three-run homer helped put the Astros up for good followed by another run for the blowout win.

We're going to lose 100+ games and have a losing record yet again. At this point, it will all come down to how many wins we can get despite this terrible season. Astros will take any wins they can get to build confidence moving forward.

Miguel Tejada got himself a 105-game suspension after testing positive for an amphetamine. And elsewhere, MIL's Ryan Braun will reportedly (by USA Today) fess up and admit using PEDs. It almost seems like you can't mention baseball without mentioning some sort of drugs or drug testing these days. Sad. Otherwise, enjoy your weekend baseball.

I'm sure Tejada is him just trying to recover from his injury...I enjoyed watching him play with the Astros.

I somewhat agree, but the NFL is a good place to start. They don't need EVERYTHING the NFL has, but the challenge system is a great starting point for expanded replay in baseball.

However, I don't know how the tennis replay system works...

So then you should look up what they do. This way you'll know what I'm talking about and you'll be able to see how it's so much better for baseball than what the NFL does. ;)

At this point I'm rooting for the A's. DBacks season is over.

 You give up way too easily. 6 games back from the wild card isn't too rosy of a situation, but the season is hardly over. Other teams have beaten worse odds in less time. Didn't the Red Sox blow a 9-game division lead in one month like two years ago?

Rangers absolutely crushed the Mariners 15-3. Martin Perez is really turning out to be the pitcher he was destined to be...after all, he was named the Rangers' top pitching prospect last season.

It started off tough for Perez, giving up a run in each of the first two innings. But in the bottom half of the second inning, the Rangers offense lit up Felix Hernandez for 5 runs. Then, in the bottom of the 7th and 8th, they pounded the Mariners bullpen for another 10.

Good news out west...the Indians are leading Oakland 4-1 in the bottom of the 8th.

I may discuss the Astros at Angels game in an update. For now, random musings...

* Who pissed off Arizona and Texas? Both teams hung 15 runs in their respective games for wins. Arizona beat the Pirates' booty (see what I did there?) 15-5 in Pittsburgh, and Texas grilled the Mariners to a 15-3 well done job.

* Los Angeles Dodgers still a ballin' time with their 10th straight win. LAD won 5-0 at Philadelphia.

* The San Francisco Giants won in Miami 6-4. This was not quite the offensive shootout compared to Friday night, which ended with a football-like score of SF winning 14-10.

* The Cleveland Indians were beast at Oakland, especially late in their game at Oakland. They won 7-1 by hanging a three-spot on Oakland in the 9th Inning.

* St. Louis halted their fall from grace with a 4-0 win at the Chicago Cubs.

* SoCal hospitality wasn't too kind to the New York Mets as the Metropolitans fell hard 8-2.

* How about the other New York team? The New York Yankees lost 6-1 today at Fenway Park. Big Papi hit the only homer of the game in Boston's win. We got a Rubber Game between these two this Sunday Night.

* Milwaukee won 2-0 at home against the Cincinnati Reds.

* Tropicana Field saw Toronto win 6-2 at Tampa Bay. Lind and Bautista went yard for TOR. Former Astro J.A. Happ won for Toronto while R. Hernandez lost for Tampa Bay.

* The only Interleague match is Colorado at Baltimore. Baltimore doubled up Colorado with an 8-4 victory.

As an off-topic note, I played the demo to "MLB: The Show 13." I got the hang of doing that Home Run Derby after a while. I was feeling it when I was using Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Braun (PED use and all), and José Bautista. I made Buster Posey look really good by banging seven homers, four of which with no outs. Longest jack I remember I hit was about maybe 468 feet. I did hit a few ugly homers that either just cleared the wall or were towering pops that still managed to go over the wall. It was fun. I did only one round as I kept having Tie Breakers to do.

[UPDATE] Son of a b:censored:... damn it!!! LAA beat HOU on a walk-off homer in Anaheim. It was 6-5, LAA in 10 innings.

Rangers blew this one 4-3. If you're a Ranger fan, you know it's not guaranteed game over when Joe Nathan comes in...he gave up the go-ahead run in a 3-3 tie in the 9th.

We won the series! The Astros won 7-5 over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Anaheim to take 2 of 3 of this series. Mr. Oberholtzer picked up the win (now 3-1) for the Houston Astros Baseball Club along with the first Save for Kevin Chapman. Losing for LAA was Juan Gutiérrez, who is now 0-4. Dominguez and Hoes went deep for HOU while Trumbo and Hamilton went yard for LAA. We outhit the Angels 12-9, and LAA had the game's only error. Astros will likely have a losing season after losing last night, but we're now 41-82.

Elsewhere, here are some other games I want to blabber about...

* An Astros fan is happy when the Astros win while the Texas Rangers lose. Today would be a happy day for an Astros' fan since the Seattle Mariners beat Texas 4-3 in Arlington.

* R1600Turbo should be happy as his Diamondbacks took down the Pirates 4-2 in 16 innings. Arizona saw Ziegler get the win and Putz get the Save. Kris Johnson ended up getting the loss.

* R1600Turbo should be even happier that the Dodgers got taken down. The Keystone State's other Major League Baseball team took good care of the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 3-2 victory, ending LAD's 10-game winning streak. Papelbon was the winner for the Fightin' Phils while Brandon League was the LAD loser.

* Ten innings was what Tampa Bay needed to take down Toronto 2-1 in St. Petersburg, FL. A walk-off homer by José Lobaton was enough to shut down Toronto today.

* It was Miami who won 6-5 against the visiting San Francisco Giants. Former Astros' pitcher Chad Qualls picked up the win along with another save from Steve Cishek. Sandy Rosario was the San Francisco losing pitcher.

* Joey D's Tigers just keep on ballin'. This time, the MoTown Kitties doubled up the Kansas City Royals 6-3. Matt Scherzer improves to a ridiculous 18-1 with a save from JoaquĂn Benoit. For the Royals, Bruce Chen was the loser.

* Doing Dolph Drago proud was his Cincinnati Reds, who sobered up the Milwaukee Brewers with a 9-1 spanking in Milwaukee. Bailey was the CIN winner while Wily Peralta took the loss.

* "World Series or Bust" is now just a big joke for Washington. Atlanta was only laughing after beating Washington 2-1 in Atlanta. ATL saw Teheran be the winning pitcher along with a Save from Kimbrel. Gio Gonzalez was the loser.

* At beautiful Petco Park in San Diego, CA; the Padres held serve at home against the New York Mets with a 4-3 win. Huston Street was the winner for San Diego while Pedro Feliciano was the loser.

* The Tribe fell pretty hard in Oakland. A football-like score of 7-3 was the score as the Athletics took down the Cleveland Indians. Otero was the winner for OAK while CLE saw Kazmir take the lsos.

* The Chicago Cubs couldn't ground the St. Louis Cardinals today. Wrigley Field wasn't happy seeing St. Louis beat the Cubbies 6-1. Your winner was Wainwright for STL while Edwin Jackson lost for the Chicago Cubs.

Congratulations to all other winners including the winner of tonight's NYY at BOS series finale.

Where and what pitch was he hit?

Boston pitcher Ryan Dempster hit Rodriguez in the second inning with a 3-0 pitch. Dempster threw his first pitch of the inning behind the legs of Rodriguez, missed inside with the next two pitches and then threw a fastball that glanced off A-RodÂ’s elbow pad and deflected into his back.

This gif only depicts the 1st and 4th pitch

The Tribe loses another series, this one to the A's. Next up, we stay out there in California to battle against the Angels.

* Los Angeles Dodgers at Miami Marlins
* Seattle Mariners at Oakland Athletics
* Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres

I hope the astros can win a3rd straight series but if they're facing darvish I'm not counting on it

There's a great matchup between NL RotY candidates in Miami...Hyun-Jin Ryu for the Dodgers and Jose Fernandez. Who wins NL RotY, between those 2?

Some other notes...
-I'm praising Ryan Dempster for what he did to A-Roid last night. That's what Yankees/Red Sox is all about.
-Mariners are in Oakland, so I'm on the Mariners bandwagon.

Jose Fernandez should win no contest... .4 something lower ERA, 20 more strikeouts, o and 5 years younger.
