My outright favorite is AT&T Park. PNC Park is a close second to me. Maybe my favorite AL ballpark is probably where the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim play. The one I once considered boring- Kaufmann Stadium- I'm starting to like it nowadays. Same goes for U.S. Cellular Field (Chicago White Sox home). I actually like Chase Field as well as where the Miami Marlins play.

The Phillies' post-All Star Game collapse continues, as they blow a four-run lead for their tenth straight road loss. It took our bullpen one out to give up the lead. Meanwhile as it has done so many times this year, the offense scores a couple runs early then takes the rest of the night off.

I was looking for an update for Game 3 of 4 between TEX and HOU, and I got it live- Texas led 2-0 in the Top of the 9th, some Astros bulls:censored: happened, and Texas led 5-0. We end up getting spanked 6-1 off of an inconsequential (but appreciated) home run by Chris Carter. Because baseball gods hate the Astros and don't ever want us to win again, I'm predicting Texas will finish us off one last time for a sweep tomorrow afternoon. I'd rather follow the Houston Texans at this point. Damned shame of a season if you're an Astros fan- even with no realistic expectations of competing and contending. Hell- we beat Texas 8-2 on Opening Night here in Houston! We were atop the AL West for a grand total of one day!

Besides the futility here in Houston, congratulations to A. Soriano on getting his 2,000th hit.

I'm very surprised that Martin Perez went the distance today, throwing a complete game (8.2 of those innings were shutout ball). Sure, I would have loved to see him get the shutout but he just made one bad pitch to Carter. Nonetheless, this was a big milestone for Perez.

It was a pitchers duel for the most part actually, but Texas was able to score 1 run each in the 5th and 6th inning (our announcers said only one of those was earned). Dallas Keuchel was on the verge of pitching a complete game as well, but with over 110 pitches he started to lose command, and ended up loading the bases. Jurickson Profar singled to left and cleared the bases (and went to third) on a throwing error by LJ Hoes. Leonys Martin brought Profar home on a single to make it 6-0.

Not as much excitement in this one. I tend to like the back-and-forth games, like the first two games in this series.

R1600Turbo, I saw the highlights early on of the New York Mets cashing in those runs early on. Sorry your Diamondbacks had to endure that beating. Blitz24 would obviously be proud of his Mets getting the job done today on the other hand.

Man, the Rays came out west on a hot streak and battling Boston for the lead in their division, then got swept by Arizona AND Los Angeles.

After losing 6 straight :ouch:, we finally nabbed one ... 6-5 from the L.A. Angels.

The 4 game sweep that Detroit handed us really did hurt. Then we come back and dump 2 more. Meanwhile, in Detroit - winning, leaving us still in 2nd. place, but 7 games back. We now head up to Minnesota to take on Justins Twins.

Stephen Strasburg goes Martin Perez one third of an inning better, pitching a complete game shutout against the Phillies.

The Phils have completely imploded since the All-star break. Currently fourth place in the division, and last place isn't out of reach.

Strasburg got all of the hype, but it took him longer to get a CG SO than it took Harvey.

I wonder if its possible Harvey is better than Stras.

Angel Stadium is ugly and plasticky.

Wow...first pitch of the Astros/Rangers game, and warnings were issued to both benches after Oberholtzer threw behind Leonys Martin.

This home plate umpire is a dick. Yu Darvish had a perfect game going in the 6th, and he called a crucial strike ball 3, which resulted in a walk and the perfect game being ruined. Ball 3 was clearly strike 3, and AJ Pierzynski argued and was tossed...stupid stupid stupid.

Looked low to me.

Texas swept this four-game series with a 2-1 win. Only three good things came out of this game for the Astros: (1) they didn't get shut out, (2) they didn't lose in a perfect game, and (3) they didn't lose in a no-hitter. One constant though- the Astros still freaking lost. Texans practice is more entertaining than the Astros losing game after game at this point. Loss number 80 for the Astros as I am not even sure the Astros will even reach 50 wins at this point. Only thing exciting about the Astros is their new look and new uniform. But still, it's the same can't-win-worth-s:censored: that has been a total disgrace with the constant and consistent losing. By the way, the only Astros' hit was a home run.

On the Texas front, their cause wasn't helped considering Oakland beat Toronto 5-1 in Toronto earlier today. It was two runs, nine hits, no errors for Texas in this game; and the Astros got one run, one hit, and one error.

Any other teams that don't f:censored: up in later games, congrats on winning tonight's games.

While our announcers aren't Astro fans, they did give the Astros' starting pitchers some praise, especially Oberholtzer and his nice assortment of pitches. They said that all 4 starters that the Rangers' saw this series show lots of promise.

After looking at ScoreCenter, all of the Astros starters went at least 6 innings this weekend, and all of the starters except Keuchel gave up 3 runs or less. The problem that seems to be plaguing the Astros is their bullpen, and on occasions lack of offense. Their starting pitching as it stands now is pretty decent, and if they can get a decently stocked bullpen and a couple more bats, they could be contenders in a few years.

Texas heads home for an 8-game homestand, with 2 against the Brewers and 3 each against the Mariners and the Astros. Oakland will be welcoming Houston, so I'll hop on the 'Stros bandwagon for that series. Hey, it's baseball...anything can happen.

Yay... at Oakland and at Texas. As if the Houston Astros aren't already on a wild ride already in the AL West...

A man who fell more than 60 feet from an upper-level platform at Atlanta's Turner Field onto a parking lot during a baseball game died Monday night, police said.

Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee confirmed the death of the man, whose name has not been released. The man fell during Monday night's game between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies.

"At this time there's no indication of foul play and the fall appears accidental," Chafee said late Monday. "It appears he fell from an upper-level platform to a secured lot below."

Chafee said police received the report of the fall just before 9 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived, they located a man who appeared to have fallen 65 feet, or about six stories.

The man was transported to Atlanta Medical Center and died of his injuries.

Chafee said the fall occurred on the stadium's back side. He said witnesses described the fall as accidental, but that police were not releasing other details of what they said.

He said he did not know if wet conditions or alcohol were factors.

Heavy rains had led to a nearly two-hour delay of the game, which was scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m.

A Braves spokeswoman declined comment earlier Monday night, referring calls to the Atlanta police.

Monday's accident wasn't the first of its kind to happen at Turner Field, and marked at least the third time a sports fan has fallen from the stands in Atlanta in about a year.

Isaac Grubb, 20, of Lenoir City, Tenn. died after falling over a railing at the Georgia Dome during a football game between Tennessee and North Carolina State on Aug. 31, 2012. Authorities said he landed on another man seated in the lower level, and that alcohol was a factor.

A man fell about 25 feet over a staircase railing at a Georgia Tech-Miami football game on Sept. 22, 2012 and was not seriously injured.

In May 2008, a 25-year-old Cumming, Ga. man suffered head injuries when he fell down a stairwell at Turner Field during a game between the Braves and the New York Mets and later died. Police found that alcohol had factored into that accident, which the Braves had said was the first non-medical fatality to happen at the ballpark.

Turner Field became the home of the Braves in 1997, a year after serving as the site of events for the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the victim's family.

A similar situation happened at Rangers Ballpark in 2011...Josh Hamilton tossed a firefighter a ball, and he fell 20 feet headfirst onto concrete behind the out-of-town scoreboard in left field...even worse, his six year old son was right next to him. :nervous:

That's why when I go to games I get lower deck seating. Or if I'm in the 3rd deck, I'm way up and away from the railing. Not good with heights anyway.

Freakin Gibby takes Putz out and brings a damn rookie in to face Davis and he promptly hits one out. Great decision....not. Good thing Nieves got it back on his own home run to lead off the bottom of the 8th. We cannot afford to lose this game tonight.

Edit: Wow, just....wow. Walk-off win on Adam Eaton's first home run of the year. First pitch he saw he drilled into the pool in right center. Crazy game.

Time to start some new series or continue some in progress. My Astros will be at Oakland to take on the A's. And Texas Rangers types... don't expect too much help from my Astros. So handle your business at home while my Astros get their butts handed to again and again by the boys in green and gold, unless we get lucky and win a few games against the A's.

So I don't forget... that fellow who fell 65 feet to his death at Turner Field is just awful. There has to be a way to be safer when up so high. My thoughts and prayers go to him and all whom have known and loved him.

Best of luck to all of your team(s).
