"I'm not a noob", but here I also am giving up entirely within 48 hours of release! Okay then.
I get where he's coming from.

You could knock 2-3 seconds of all the license times in GTS and it would be harder, GT7 isn't hard like that... it's not hard like, "oooh that's a hard time", it's hard like "I can't even drive in a nearly straight line without loosing control". I found the LH time trials in GTS difficult, never even golded them, and I'm like "yeah, it's difficult"... in the GT7 ******* music rally I was having to check what mode my wheel was in, and that there was nothing resting on the DS overriding my wheel inputs...

... GT7 is a different kind of difficult. I'm not saying it's bad, but not being able to get around 5 out of 8 corners on a track without crashing hard isn't the same as not being able to find that last tenth, or catch the rabbit before the line.

I’m about to tackle this test.
I’ll let you know how I get on…

To such an extent that the Gran Turismo series just lost a dedicated fan of many years past.
Never quit the race, so it's hard and anything too easy is really not worth effort, so get back with your DS4 controller and carry on the tradition of mastering the GT license tests

Special thanks to everyone who had positive comments, the world needs more people like you.
To those of you who got personal and insulting, you are what is wrong with this world today.
I wrote that post to see how people would react, and I am glad to say that most of you thoroughly impressed me. Well done guys!!!!

While I respect OP's opinion, I'm sorry but it just upsets me seeing these kind of posts. This isn't Forza Horizon or Need for Speed or Driveclub. If you don't know what you are buying into, it's your problem. It's not meant to be easy, a casual and relaxing pick up and play. I can't imagine how would OP react if they were to pick the slightly more hardcore PC sims like ACC or iRacing. Probably a complete meltdown lol

It's like me buying a Dark Souls game and complain the game is garbage because I keep dying over and over. It's not the game's fault.

Not to excuse the toxicity, but your opening post was really overly dramatic. Nobody stops playing Gran Turismo all together just because they failed at a license. I get that you were probably just venting though.

On the matter of S-10, it took me one hour to make it to the goal once and another three hours to get gold. It takes a lot of effort but you too will make it if you just keep at it. And it'll feel incredibly rewarding when you do. Get back at it from time to time and don't give up 😉

I found the wet ones pretty easy apart from the last one for super license.
I took a few tries just to get bronze which I got with the wheel and all assists on then I came back a few hours later and used a controller because I never had the wheel set up and got gold within 45 minutes of trying.

I thought it would take me hours or days of trying because I was so far behind at first but when I finally started to push and keep to the racing line I could really shave off loads of time and it wasn't as impossible as I thought.

Just now learned that Sport mode isn't cross platform compatible... you ain't only one disappointed in this game
That is a bit on the sad side yes, but I will still enjoy GT7, and will keep cracking at it...👍😁

👍😎That is the spirit, yes👍😁

Do you imagine a souls game fan complaining about difficulty?
😳🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣

The fact that people are beating it should be motivation enough, maybe. But I haven't tried that test yet. It did take me well over a half hour to beat the test at Autopolis with the Supra. I had the same reaction I would have had if the Leafs scored an overtime goal in the playoffs, though. Maybe a little much for a license test.
Effort pays off in the end, good job👍😎

Yeap hardest test in the game imo that's for sure. Took me a while. Like the i'm giving up now while. It actualy took me a long time to even set a lap. I was going for gold and so my pace was just so, but it meant i got punished alot. slowing down never occured to me funny enough, it was more like i knew there was a "secret" to going fast and doing it safely.

When i landed my first lap, sure enough i got the gold but i wanted to beat it so i just kept going till i eventually did

No offense but the licensing has always been a difficult thing in gt games it was a long time before i got it in gt 5 and in gt1. It is what it is look for tips on how to get through becuase im sure those are comming. Games been out for like a day or 2 and your giving up?
Not really man....🤣🤪🤣🤪🤣

I had the same experience with that test😁 But in the end when you completely smash it, it is rewarding👍

Have you Golded the Sebastian Vettel events on GT5 by any chance? They were the hardest of any license/mission test of any Gran Turismo game. I find it highly unlikely that GT7 license tests would come close that level of pain.

Yes, that was brutal, also took me a while to get used to the Redbull's handling and to get gold in them...😳😁 Brings back memories 👍😊

Oh, so you were trolling. Seems like an odd thing to admit, but okay.

I am definitely not a nube when it comes to Gran Turismo, also not one of the best out there.
That being said, GT 7 wet tracks and wet licence tests especially the final one is just bloody ridiculously difficult to complete.
To such an extent that the Gran Turismo series just lost a dedicated fan of many years past.
Definitely not a enjoyable experience anymore. I truly pitty the newcomers and inexperienced players out there. Polyphony and Gran Turismo is going to loose a big fan base because of this....
A normal person would just admit they're terrible at the game and move on, you sound like e1itedeath on twitch:
He sucks at Destiny 2, rants about how terrible the game is, but STILL carries on playing it all his life so he can continue to suck at it and rant about how terrible the game is...

This guy would make good friends with Samus.

tbh i would of been disappointed if i put the game and didn't find some of the tests hard, it was all plain sailing until i got to International A. Some where done by milliseconds others by a bit more of a margin (a pass is a pass in my book). Tests that stood out to me where Focus GRB at Fishermans Ranch (IA3), the Blue mustang at Trial Mountain (S6) and the final S10. That mustang one was brick hard with out traction control... and trying to navigate the end of the lap at spa was just crazy. Shame the madness has finished

I agree with you, also had a tough time with the mustang one but nailed it in the end. Some of the missions can also keep you busy for some time, i like to do them too...

Practice makes perfect. The sooner you learn to brake earlier and not go full throttle through corners, the quicker you'll be able to improve in wet weather conditions. Watch the 'Demonstrations' if you need to - watch the throttle/brake inputs at the bottom of the screen and learn how to adapt those to your driving style. I've also found in the FK8 Civic Tsukuba Mission that if you keep the throttle slightly open in corners during damp or fully wet conditions, the car will pull itself around and there's less chance of you aquaplaning off the road.

Top tip for the final Super Licence challenge - avoid the shiny surfaces at all costs. I've lost count of how many attempts I made just to get to Bronze (and this was on a DualShock 4, by the way), but again, its mostly a case of being gentle with the throttle and brakes through the twisty sections.

The difficulty slider should provide the newbie to the game or those like me who are not brilliant at it a little easier ride,
It doesn't in the licence tests now I don't know if it when on beginner makes the licence tests any easier or they are just set as they are.
Some will master them quicker than others some like me will never do gold on a lot so we settle for bronze, now I agree with the OP that to a new gamer it is much to hard and being that hard it just may make people to give it up trade it in and try their hand at something easier.
If the licence tests were a lot easier on beginner one could do it then work there way up to medium and then hard if one wants to but when getting bronze on some on beginner level is near or in my case impossible it is off putting.
If the difficulty slider worked better the new gamers the not so good gamers (me) and the good and the brilliant could still play the game there way.

I just want to race and going from the other GT games know when I get to certain races I have to have the appropriate licence.
I don't see the point if I am honest as once racing if you slide off or hit a wall etc the normal fails on the licence tests you don't get chucked out the race you can carry on so having to pass the crazy hard licences to be able to carry on as if you hadn't even done a test is a bit pointless to me.
I know when I am competing in fast races later in the game I won't win I never do but I enjoy the game, I even move out the way if AI are up my butt and nudging me I don't care if I come second or last as long as I can race and enjoy it.

But to even enter the races I have to complete a licence which is harder than racing a Ferrari whilst driving a Demio and lapping it is for me a turn off from the game.
I had a PS5 for Christmas from the wife and kids and I have waited for GT7 now I know it is my choice but I have given up on GT7 it is to hard for me.
I just wonder how many others whom are new to GT or not experts will do the same?
It needs to be far more user friendly in difficulty, How is my 8 year old going to start enjoying a game he can't do?
Brilliant game but aimed at the experts and we are not all experts far from it in my case.

Don't give up. Take full advantage of the 'Demonstration' feature. It'll show you a simulated run of the Licence Test/Mission Challenge/Circuit Experience you're on, from which you can pick up what braking/throttle/steering inputs you need to pass the test/challenge. From what I've experienced so far, you don't need Gold times to earn each Licence. Bronze should be enough to earn you the Licences you're on (as I found out for myself while toiling away at the S-10 test) along with one of the two prize cars available per Licence.

If you watch GT7 streams from people like Super GT and @Tidgney, I think you'll find that a lot of 'expert' players are also finding these more difficult than what we came to expect in GT Sport. I myself had had to adjust my driving so that I don't always treat the throttle, as one of the in-game instructors says later on, as an 'on-off' switch. Mastering gradual inputs in braking zones and corners, by only pressing the pedals/triggers partway through, should enable greater control regardless of what set-up you're using. Challenging Licence Tests have always been part and parcel of previous Gran Turismo games, and I will admit that I did have to redo a lot of the GT7 tests in order to attain Gold times for each Licence.

I did do all the demos first as it shows you where the track is going on the test and position of the car etc.
I am happy with bronze as I know two reasons why I will never do all golds and it is because I have not got it in me to sit for hours doing the same test over and over again it is boring my mind starts to wander off the game and on to thinking ok bored now I wonder what is on tv and I know my skill level is not good enough simple as I accept that no worries.
I did give up and was going to ebay the PS5 and GT7 as I don't play any other games but really do like the Oculus Quest 2 as the wife has one and it is brilliant fun. Swap PS5 and GT7 for Oculus quest was my plan.
But I thought no go on give GT another go and I managed to scrape past the one I couldn't do by 0.004 of a second to get bronze so I carried on and did the final test on the 1A international licence (I think it's called) the next to last licence.
I did that ok and then on to S-Class the first one is a Lambo and I have given it about 30 goes got it around twice without crashing out or braking and the car reacting like it has been t-boned in the rear quarter and spinning off. The best I did was 6 seconds from bronze so I am giving the S-Class a miss to hard for me, I don't need it anyway as I don't play the super fast races with super fast cars just to fast for me and I get bored of crashing out as the car is like a boat on ice at 400mph lol.

I am now going to see to open all the tracks and just race with the cars I got given me after doing licences. I am happy doing that as long as I can spend some time racing around win lose I am happy.
Just hoping it doesn't take forever to open the tracks.

I suppose people are determined to gold every licence and win every race which fair play if you can and have the patience to do that. I am not that way inclined I just don't have the love or determination to think that way any more as I did with GT 1 2 3 4 5
I am not right now I couldn't even tell you what car I am in and I am in the One race which is open in the Americas just having a drive.
If I can get the other tracks to open without it being lots and lots of seriously hard work I will stick with it.
If not then maybe my calling at my age is the Oculus.
Peace.

Guys, a special thanks to everyone who participated, Yes everyone. Even the moderation team (can def. tick that of the bucket list now🤫) I really enjoyed all the comments. Peace and love to all of you, may you have a Great week.

The mods have done a good job.

Your messages have been deleted because they were discriminatory and/or degrading/insulting... I hope you will learn from this, but what is not clear from this message.

To everyone else who still has problems, I say cheer up and face the new challenge, it's worth it!

I often look back at my 'serious' GT racing career (my first ever game against other humans was when I bought GTS many years ago) and I think how would I ever imagine I would have learnt so much, and raised my game so much in my time playing it.

I find GT7 very, very challenging but you know what, I'm looking forward to remembering how good I thought I was.

Luckily I don't live on these forums, I do have a life outside the internet. So, like i said, one for the bucket list. Cheers and may you also have a Great week 😁

Some gold challenges are definetly tricky with the pad. You really have to nail it for gold. My new wheel doesnt work with the PS5 so i am playing with the pad now. With a wheel i am A+ on Sport, got close to the DR cap a few times, so im no noob either lol.

So far i have been able to make it to IA-3 with all gold on the pad. But some took quite a few tries. I can definetly see new players struggling to get gold but at least bronze should be doable. They are meant to be hard and i actually like that they are challenging. Like i said you do really need to nail it and that can be tricky on the pad but then it feels good when you finally do.

But i dont know. I am also playing Elden Ring at the moment so maybe i just like to torture myself.
