Manhunt in SoCal, suspect is surrounded in a cabin, two officers down.

I honestly would not be surprised if he has something on someone in the LAPD, and they want to get rid of him. Why else would they open fire without confirming 100% that their target is posing a threat. It seems they just want him dead, not pull him in.

Don't begin to defend these "cops" either. They deserve to be fired at the LEAST. They opened fire on innocent people because they thought that was their target. A cop does not fire upon someone unless they are posing a threat. For one they didn't even know that was the guy, second there was no threat. Just because they got "scared" is no excuse to fire.

Come to think of it, is there any evidence of them warning the two ladies before opening fire?

Methinks a simple siren, or "Step out of the vehicle slowly with your hands on your head!" could have prevented this accident. If two old ladies come out, don't shoot. If a big black guy runs out with a gun, it's probably him. If he runs out or drives away at the sight of a police car before any warning can be given, it's probably him. If they did anything to warn the suspect, they would have at least known whether to open fire or not.

I think I posted this last page, the women said that there was no warning of any kind, just gunshots.

I think another facet of this story is the way news outlets have been reporting it. I'm happy to see that even the Average Joe has picked up on the fact that these multinational billion dollar companies are utterly clueless to the way things work. The news has been trying to turn this into Jason Bourne: LA Edition and I can see that many people are starting to see through the sensationalist crap.

Ah, thanks. 👍

Exactly. Standard procedure and it should not have been done any other way, I don't care who is in the truck.

Bit too late for that, I'd say. If it turns out that the things said in the manifesto are correct, the damage is already done.

As hard as it has been to change the culture of the Los Angeles Police Department, it has been even more difficult to win and maintain the support of the public. As much as I value our successes in reducing crime, I value even more our gains in public confidence

Hired by the public to do what? TBH these ass hats have been on the loose way to long. I don't condone the rogue one bit, I shutter at the public for their complacency.

Were they supposed to do it sooner? Opening the file sooner might send the message that the LAPD can be held hostage.

My bet is that they will review it and release it to the public if they feel it supports their version of events - namely, that Dorner filed a false report. Dorner has said that the only way to stop him is to publicly clear his name of wrongdoing in that incident. Clearing him might convince him to surrender, but it would again be seen as bowing to his demands.

If it turns out that the things said in the manifesto are correct, the damage is already done.
Then they're just going to have to take that hit to their credibility. Because if the review supports Dorner's version of events and they don't release it, that's a cover-up. So the LAPD is really damned if they do and damned if they don't. But at least admitting that Dorner was right would give them the opportunity to clear out the instituionalised behaviour that they've been struggling to deal with for years. It's just going to be embarrassing.

No one cares what grievance the guy might have, he is out of control and needs to be stopped. They can bicker about that part later.

If caring about the grievance is a way to stop him, then shouldn't that at least be explored, if only to reassure the public that the police are doing what they can to catch him?

Nope, he lost his credibility once he went on a rampage, unless of course he is innocent of killings.

We won't know though as the clown force will surely kill him if he is found.

Try to even pretend you care about a murderer's feelings...

...yeah, it's kinda not going to work.

This is exactly how I see this ending. He'll be shot dead, on sight. I seriously doubt that he'll be given a chance to explain himself, and the cops that are out looking for him will be hungry for the chance to be the glorified officer that took him down.

Last thing people need is some cop with a small brain and big penis shooting someone that looks like him because they care about their ego.

The public will demand that the police do everything in their power to stop the suspect. Re-examining the circumstances behind his dismissal has been presented to the police as a way of stopping him. How can the police reasonably overlook that, especially if they think that announcing the reinvestigation might be enough to make the suspect reconsider his position and give himself up?

Here in murica we do not negotiate with terrorists, period.

The public demands justice as it should, if the L.A. police department is crooked the people there should demand corrections be taken but they are two separate things.

Is there any development in the case or are we going to use this thread to bash murica police officers?

Los Angeles officials are offering a $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest death of Christopher Jordan Dorner.

A waste of tax payer money ...

Well, it's money to save people's lives before they get hurt. Then again, it's not like Californians aren't already paying tax money for police.

They would love to write that check. A photo opportunity to showcase someone supporting their over reaching government. No one will know they take most of it back in taxes and convince the poor soul to donate the rest to save the silvery minnow lol.

The reward should be a Nissan Titan.

Meaning that they will take delivery of a Toyota or maybe a motorcycle...

Someone called it a few days ago.

It's official: The drone war has come home to America. Wanted fugitive Christopher Dorner, the homicidal former cop currently at war with the LAPD, has become the first known human target for airborne drones on U.S. soil.
