Omg, Ward! Hydra is proper in there, twist on a twist
Ward never said, "Hail Hydra."

I suspect that he is infiltrating Hydra. He may even be following the orders of Agent Hand. In the post-credits scene he did not seem to be in a happy place.

True but he did shot 3 agents, one v.high level.

SHIELD is hardcore. Self-sacrifice for the greater good. Or things are not what they seem.

Think about it, every person who reveals themselves says, "Hail Hydra," immediately after. It could just be a hole in the writing, but hearing Ward say it would have been the real shot in the hearts of fans.

There is other stuff from The Winter Soldier that I want to bring up, but I don't know who has seen it yet and really, really, really don't want to spoil it.

I dunno. I was cursing him to high hell again during tonight's episode, so if this is all a deep cover ruse than he's got me fooled.

On the upside, Patton Oswalt!

Shush! I have to wait a day. Hail Hulu?

Wait: Hail Saving $50 a Month!

Seriously, you didn't say anything I didn't see in sneak peaks (is it sneaky if you post it online?) and articles.

Surely, if your on the thread, you'd expect spoilers.
I had enough decorum to not ruin it when Europe got behind by a few episodes.

But I saw it earlier tonight. Oh look, Ward even got scruffy and dirty looking. He even looks evil now.

Are you sticking to your theory?

Spoilz below:

While he still hasn't hailed (and had plenty of opportunities to do so, might I add), this all seems like one long reach just for a deep cover ruse. What's the endgame? I'll even poke one possible hole in my own theory by saying that everything up until this point concerning Ward has been handled with a hint of ambiguity - how are we to know that every person Ward shot weren't Hydra agents?

Like I said previously, if this is all apart of some bigger picture then he definitely has me fooled. I'll continue to curse him to high hell until that time comes though.

Yup yup. Or he is under some kind if crazy control. I mean, Captain America was killed by the agent assigned to guard him, and she had no recollection of why she did it.

Spoilz below:

Here be spoilerishes.
We saw how far May was willing to go to keep her orders from Fury secret. She was on the verge of killing people.

Worst case scenario: Wade is a Hydra sleeper but he double crosses them because of Skye. He already showed anger over Skye being shot. We will see when he tries to get the info for the encrypted drive.

Also, keep in mind that May admitted to tricking Coulson into picking this team, based on Fury's orders. Wade was vetted by an already paranoid Fury.[/quote]

It would make sense to respond to this now, but until you've seen the episode (if you haven't already) I'll just give my thoughts below.

I'm still cursing him to high hell.

My head hurts. He's not even hydra for an episode, wtf. Then he is, Soooo confused......

I don't understand what's confusing you.

Hurm. It can all be explained as keeping his cover, but they are putting him into a very large self-loathing role if so.

Honestly, when I predict something I hope I am wrong, because then I'm surprised and can enjoy it. My wife and I just watched Mud and I guessed the last 20 minutes in the first 30 minutes.

R.S
Did ward shoot Hand or Iced?

Also who shot Fury, any confirmation of his death?
Wow, you're behind.

And should watch The Winter Soldier. It all ties in together. This is all reaction to what happened in that movie.

You might be onto something when you brought up Wade being vetted by an already paranoid Fury, because if I'm not mistaken when the ish hit the fan I don't remember Fury being all that overwhelmed about it. Well, other than almost being killed by Bucky that is.

So it could be possible he suspected Garrett all along and knowing Wade has the most history with the guy and, for all intents and purposes, knows him better than anyone else, used him as a plant. I'm largely repeating everything you've already said, but it dawned on me that what if all of his seeming murderous actions are just the orders of Fury to trust no one except who he would have told him to trust?

To get back to the side of the fence I'm currently standing on, why kill Koenig? Why cause such animosity between the group of people we all know are trustworthy? It seems Skye is the only possible bump in this road that sends everything spiraling into the fire.

Spoilz below.
Spoiler responses.

Did we see Koenig die? I saw a body, dripping blood. The second death they showed blood but no wound since Wade turned. And as we now know, faking your own death by bullets is very possible.

As for Wade's mission or not, it will be settled by the end of the season. Nick Fury and others are confirmed for the finale

Haven't stopped by here in two weeks now, and with the penultimate episode having aired last night I can only say two things at the moment without spoiling much of anything: the episode was slow-paced and a bit more methodical in comparison to the last few episodes, and it paid off well for the most part.

Also, still cursing out Ward (why was I calling him Wade before? ).

I thought you were calling him Wade purposefully for some personal inside joke type reason that the rest of us were missing out on.

I was doing it too.

Well, my main theory is out the window. But... Engage sneaky spoiler mode

Lets be honest. Ward didn't kill FitzSimmons. In the real world, yep that drop could be deadly. Not in this world. How convenient they were in a sealed container that he could drop into a well-traveled bit of ocean from a height so low that there should have been a wake in the water, except the jet was moving too slow.

I'm sticking by my theory that he turns on Garrett for Skye. It's a weakness. Flowers already doubts Garrett, Deathlok is ready to destroy Hydra the moment he can break free. And Ward keeps talking to them. Mix in the fact that in the flashback Garrett was a total dick and that now Ward keeps complaining about nearly being killed on Garrett's orders. We have a guy who is realizing he is on the wrong side.

New question: What is Skye. Her parents are "Monsters." Is that hyperbole or do we mean monsters. Is he part Kree? A child of super humans or science experiments gone bad, like The Hulk? Curiouser and curiouser.

I know one thing. The serum was supposed to create major instabilities without crazy implanted memories, but Skye seems absolutely fine.

Down below

I took "monsters" to be mean mutant because it all seemed... conveniently creative. Of course, there's always the possibility that she's a mutant kree like Ultra Girl.

I can definitely see Ward playing the three part double agent role now that we've seen a bit of his past play out. It's already shown he's incapable of "taking care" of an asset once he's gotten close to it, and as you've said he's none too pleased about being scapegoated on Garrett's orders.

My question is what happens with Ward in the end? There's no way in hell Fury will let him back on the team with Coulson even if he has the softest of soft spots for Coulson, and I highly doubt he'll turn a blind eye (hah!) because Skye has/had feelings for him. I'm going out on a limb by saying he'll probably be the first Whedon casualty.

Do I still spoiler text in these little white letters?

If Ward is showing this trend of not killing people he is close to, then perhaps he gets a minor sentence, or turns into a "Big Damn Hero." Sorry, I couldn't avoid cross-referencing Whedon. Or possibly he becomes something else as Garrett tries to make him his first new mass market super soldier.

But if he is the first casualty, they are giving us every reason to be happy with Triplett. Busting out his grandfather's Howling Commandos kit? Hell yes.

Another question arising upon further thought: Quinn got his gravitonium back. Professor Hall is still inside that gravitonium. Could Quinn begin experimenting and accidentally release Graviton (season 2?), possibly causing Ward to sacrifice himself to save everyone, gaining redemption in his last act? Either way, all the pieces are in place for Graviton to enter the fray.

Oooh, I missed you little white letters! What fun we will have together!
