Master List Of 2.06 Sound Changes

Though I'm kind of dissapointed that I lost one of my cars. The IS-F Concept. The sound that it had before was the nice racing V8 that most cars have, but although it sounded great, it didn't really fit this car since DTM's have flatplane V8 engines. The now sound however, is terrible... Maybe if they used the sound that the Super GT Nissan GTR's have, that would make it more convincing.

Even though the previous sound of the IS-F concept was glorious, I couldn't help but think it indeed wasn't very convincing for a DTM car.
But to replace it with the current sample doesn't make it more convincing either, just more annoying.
Those Super GT Nissan GT-R's you mentioned could provide a better and more convincing alternative, at least they sound really good too.
Why PD didn't figure this out for themselves boggles the mind as usual.

Somebody allready mentioned it here....the BMW M3 GTR race car lost its sound too....got a high pitched one now.

Tested the 325i Touring car too, that one still sounds like the minolta.

NO!👎 Has anyone tried the M3 GTR road car yet?

I retract my previous theory of it only being premiums then, apparently we're on the lookout for standards with new sounds as well.

Hello. My name is the Saleen S7.

DO NOT mistake me for a 458.

OMG, it sounds like that now? This...is...terrible.

I honestly wish I knew what they were thinking with some of these sound changes. The only worthwhile changed ones are the ZR1 RM and the Camaro SS RM. Everything else seems to be all downhill.:ouch:

I checked mine after hearing the race car and it was unchanged.

I HATE THAT STUPID LOOPING! Seriously PD. Admit that you botched the recording of the 787B and do it again...

I have to admit, this looping engine note... makes this car sound way overrated, I didn't enjoy this at all..

There has to be a way we can let PD know how we feel about this, right?

...right? :nervous:

Let's gather and spam Kaz's Twitter with our sound complaints, when he logs on and sees thousends of tweets about the sound from his fans, then there is no way for him to miss this problem :sly:

If this is supposed to be a master list, the person who started the thread needs to make sure they are around to update the OP....

Anyway, confirmed that the IS-F RM and the Silvia S15 RM have changed as well, and both of them for the worse. 👎

OP updated, college studies got in way, apologies guys.

EDIT: Elise RM ruined.

No no, don't spam kaz twitter! We already have only a bit of feedback once a while... if his twitter become annoying we may expect even less.

Put it on the feedback section! It seem to be working! :)

The sound changes, in my opinion, clearly reflect Kaz's mind. Yes, he's an accomplished driver, but he's also a bit eccentric. His thoughts, at times, appear sporadic and random. This is why I am not shocked by the changes.

You don't have to be a psychologist to notice this.

The positive thing I've realized is that PD have not totally forgotten some of these standard gems.

Right, lets let them know we are even prattier douches than we already seem to be.

He's an honoured guest at prestigious car shows and one of the most successful and decorated game devs and now a successful racer, you really think he wants to hear you moan and sniffle about your gripes with GT5 with no solutions or contributions offered?

rantover.

I am sure he dont want to hear it. On the other hand he has to hear it! Since we are the ones who pay 60 bucks for it! And demand high standarts. It's our right to speak out what we think. And since PD has not really any connection to their fans, we need to shout out, "HEY ! we are the ones who playing the game, we are the ones who want changes!" no one forces us to spend our 60 bucks on GT5 we might aswell could spend it on other games or things. But if we do it's our right to get a product which are on our standarts. If not they will lose alot of their customers, and thats the last things a company wants. So there are no kind of developer forums from PD. Other developers communicate very well with their customers "Fans". So you rather accept the fact the sound sucks. Instead being an annonyms person on your PC maybe called "FAN No.532" who says Hey I want newer sounds! If you do that, then maybe it's like, oh a guy who doesnt like the sounds. Get over it!. If thousends do it. Then there must be truth in it. And Kaz will listen. :yuck:

I am going to tweet him about the sound, the more participation, the better it will be known to Kaz and PD that its a serious issue. Doesn't hurt to try, nothing to lose, and something to gain.

The NSX JGTCs have had sound changes. Weirdly though the Castrol Mugen NSX has a different sound effect to the Raybrig and Mobil 1 NSXs. The Castrol Mugen sounds like a 458 with racing exhaust/new S7 sound, while the other two sound more like the JGTC Supras now.

Man, I am looking at the list of negatively affected cars with the update and see there are some really awesome ones that I still drive. This really makes me not want to play anymore....or at least play with the sound turned down lol. What fun is that though? The sound is one of my favorite things about automobiles and an important one at that. I get hyped for a new update all the time, but lately I am not so sure anymore especially with this last one.

I am really disappointed that PD feels that to go one step forward, they must always go two steps back. I mean, yea the sounds weren't great to begin with and they really improved the ZR1 RM and SS RM (which I am happy about), but I don't see why they have to go "try" to improve something and just make the issue even worse by trashing the sound on cars that sounded perfectly fine.:ouch:

And for those of us who don't want to join the twitter bandwagon?

GTP's feedback section is a potentially highly useful resource for PD; whether they really use it or not is not known to me, although things on the list have appeared in the game in some for or other in the past, so it's possible it at least influences their thought processes.

Not sure if really changed, but the NSX RM now sounds like the SuperGT NSX premiums (think it sounded like the minolta before).

The DTM astras got some changes too.

Since the real IS-F Concept is based on an Opel Vectra DTM car there's some logic I guess to them now making the same sort of noises.
But this being a concept car, it would be even more logical to have it make the noise ingame if it were to have a Lexus engine.
Why they chose the sample from the 2008 Impreza WRC car beats me, maybe they thought it sounded like this.

Honestly dude It sounds very similar to that on my SS.

Yeah! Just like how people telling him what they did wrong on the only direct outlet for fan feedback that PD has set up has done nothing for the game before. That's exactly why all of the DLC still isn't available in the NCD, is locked to a specific PSN account rather than system and the cars cannot be sold. And why we still have that buggy dynamic chase camera that causes people to throw up.

So, you know, forgive me if I don't care when people directly contact PD in droves in the only way they can when PD screw something up like this; since it has gotten things fixed before. Particularly not after the things you've said in this thread ("2 wrong samples out of 1000") already make it kinda clear you don't know what you are talking about anyway.

The Loctite also sounds the same as the Mobil 1 and Raybrig ones, and the ARTA sounds the same as the Castrol Mugen.

In regards to what they sound like, it seems like they just made the Mobile/Loctite/Raybrig sound like the '03 Takata Dome:

More or less, which sounds the same as it did before this update (and sounds the same basically as it has since GT4). No idea whether that's right or not for those three (it seems somewhat close to the NSX videos I've been able to find from the era), but at the very least the ARTA and the Castrol with that "baby-tyrannosaurus-from-The-Lost-World" exhaust from the Ferrari V8s is even more wrong than before.

I just wish they would use correct samples and real recordings of some of these cars because I'm pretty sure a big block v8 doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner.
