I can't imagine anyone not at least trying the kart races. Especially online. :sly:

I'm really juiced on this. I hope the track editor is a full blown creator. But it has to be something substantial. Otherwise, why mention sharing your best tracks? Even if it's just linking streets together, it's going to be very cool.

GT5 is the true definition of "definitive".

Yes, the game is not perfect, but nothing comes close to the entire package GT5 offers.

My 11 year old friend Karts (on a semi-pro level) and hes very good. My friend's dad let me try his kart... The tires were all used up and I was sliding ALL OVER THE PLACE, but I'd say it was one of the greatest thrills of my life so far... I can't wait to be able to sling them across some tracks. I hope Infineon's kart track would be in!

Nationals Layout

Cant find a good video of Sprint Layout

And for fun, heres them on the big track

Before they have Kart races they better implement CATERHAM races. Such an amazingly competitive vehicle gone to waste in GT4, where you can only race head to head in ARCADE. Poppycock.

16 Cater' field @Nordschleife thats nice.

SuperShouden
yeah. From his latest tweets, the stuff Sony revealed is true and in the game, but Kaz is a little upset about it and wanted to reveal it at a later time.

I guess he couldn't hold himself, its like when you play hide and seek, and you're hiding so well, that the other person 2 ft away cant see you, and you start silly giggling from pure adrenaline and give yourself up. Yea, i play hide and seek, in the dark, with women, and men, we all play, we drink, so, yah.

My god that looks like a world of fun. I could do that all day and won't get bored. So jealous

It's also excruciatingly exhausting. It takes a lot of physical strength and stamina to drive those things for an extended period of time. But they are REALLY fun! :D

Not only that; these things (the real Karts....) have a tendency to break ribs! Most competitors HAVE to wear rib protectors to compete. Not so much a rule but a necessity. 👍:ouch:
I'm such a big girl - last time I went gocart'ing, indoor track, I managed to bend two ribs - and I'm actually not _that_ out of shape.. Hurt like hell for most of 3 weeks.*

* I won though!...

[Edit:] Some on this board actually knows my name - now more do (-:

Honestly I have to wonder sometimes if karting isn't actually the biggest thrill in racing.... I mean sure bigger cars go faster and there is more to tinker with, but geez the acceleration and proximity to the ground is hard to beat. I have only ever driven at my local track and I think they turn them down for no league races so they top out around 40mph, but that's plenty to give me a thrill... I wonder how well all that will transfer over to the video game world.

Yeah that's true. When I was in Europe in 2008 I went Go-Karting and the Karts there could easily reach 120km/h. My mates and I were on for about an Hour and my forearms had never felt so much pain before lol. My whole body was sore afterwards

No power steering and no suspension will do that to you! :)

Maybe they will find a way to program the DS3 sticks to become super stiff for karting or make the wheel feedback crank up to 11 :D

 THAT would be hilarious, and awesome.

It will be interesting to see how well they made the driver animations in the carts. It will not be enough to just show hand movements, for now the whole body is visible in your opponents' carts.

that says it all! 👍

a proper career mode with the potential of f1 cars at the end of it would naturally include karts at the beginning. simples.

although, im hoping playing through like GT's of old with "start with **** car, win and buy better" is still available and they don't force you down a "career path" so to speak.

excitement building talking about it 👍👍

i guess that info that was leaked was true

No. The guy you quoted got all that from a piss poor google translation that can be taken in many ways. He took it in a way that makes it seem kaz is upset his surprise got leaked.
Not saying he's wrong, just saying he can be.

Just stumbled across this......

On the other hand, the huge gap between sequels has allowed for a garage load of features to be squeezed into GT5. Dynamic day/night cycles - which will be perfect for something like the 24 hour Le Mans race, 3D tech, over 950 cars including karts, Top Gear's test track and the hotly rumoured track editor.

Now I have no idea if this is taken from the same source as our thread here (but if that is the case why have they not mentioned weather, etc) or info Games Radar got from E3 separately.

Cause they waited for a forum ninja like yourself to come along and blow the whole thing wide open!

GT Life.... start low with 50cc karts... earn your way up the ranks in different racing leagues and competitions and bump up to grand Touring Championships and then F1? holy crap.

Wow post a bit of info and get a sarcastic comment for your trouble, must remember to not bother in the future (takes dave_sz off the Christmas card list).

Seriously whats the problem exactly? Because I was under the impression that another source seeming to confirm this might be interesting to members on a GT forum.

HUH? We have polished up GT4 cars carried over, damn reverse lights and now bloody go-karts! Yet not a skidmark to be seen! What the hell is going on with GT5? Next we`ll have the bikes from tourist trophy show up!

For all those Non-believers in Karts, and skeptical out there...

If there is any proof that Karting is regarded very seriously by people in the racing business, all you have to do is look at Ferrari, and what they have announced.

Taken a 11-year-old boy (not just randomly any), but one who has proven himself on the track on-board of those machine,
then put him into a program to further his skills, making him potentially the next Shumi of the 2020.

What a dream!

In fact, he is so good that he has beat everyone at the in-house internal kart competition...

The title says it all:

And STILL we have crybabies making everything worse. I personally couldn't care less about skidmarks. I mean, REALLY? you're crying over something as small as skidmarks? and what's wrong with reverse lights? Too real for you? sounds like you should be playing Forza.
