Apparently there will be a retraction on the MGS storyline with MGS V. I'll put it in spoiler tags so that you don't have to read it if you don't want to.

According to the Metal Gear Wiki, there is a possibility that the rescue of Frank Jeager and Naomi Hunter from Mozambican Civil War did not happen in the 1980s as it was suggested by Naomi. A reason why is because The Phantom Pain portion of the arc takes place in 1983, well enough into it where he couldn't make it into the country in the 80s.

However, that doesn't mean what Naomi said was true as the war lasted until 1992.

I wonder if it will be multi-platform? I would want it on PS3, as it would follow the PS2 tradition as we got MGS2 and MGS3.

Is that Outer Heaven at the end of the trailer?

And interesting decision to include Afghanistan. Wonder how Kojima will spin the Soviet War in Afghanistan.

I assume it is Outer Heaven.

I wonder if he'll build Zanzibar Land at the end of this game.

I doubt it, PS4 and XBONE only I still say.
I'm not sure if it's wrong or if it changed. But wasn't MGS announced to be splitted, or at least the story, into two games, from which the first one will come for PS3?

I could bet I read this in a german magazin.
Hang on, I'll check it.

EDIT:
It says Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain aka MGS5 have a connected story and that GZ will come for the current gen and Phantom Pain for next gen and current gen. Ground Zeroes is basically a prologue (story wise, not like GT5P and GT5).

I'm not yet sure if the Xbox version will be an Xbox One exclusive, or if they'll release it on the current gen platform. Same goes for Sony, not that keeping exclusively next-gen would surprise me at all. Plus the PC version is almost a certainty.

I only remember it being split into two parts, but not split between two different platforms.

Judging by the location, time period and the events taking place in the first part of the trailer, I'd say he watched Rambo 3 beforehand.

I'm pretty sure it still hasn't been explained if it'll be two seperate games or one with two chapters like MGS2.

I just don't think anything we saw so far was PS3.

Read the edit please.

Although... no wait I quote it for you:

:)

Konami gave those infos on the Game Developers Conference, therefore I'd call them trustworthy.

Hmm, that certainly hasn't been confirmed elsewhere so it seems odd a German magazine knows that.

Well I doubt they would have kept the first part on one platform, then make it impossible to continue without having to buy a next-gen console anyway.

It still seems like it'll be mainly current-gen if both parts are coming to the 360 and PS3, and only Phantom Pain will appear on the next-gen counterparts (not including PC at least).

It's the biggest german PS magazin. They say it was told on the Game Developers Conference. Let me see if I find other sources.

I'll check if they listed the article on their website.

Oh ok, maybe this info is more well known and I missed it.

I can't directly find it on their website. I mean, I found news where they say it got announced for PS3 and Xbox 360 and that they'll have a connected story, but not with exact sources. It's always about the Game Developers Conference.

Does it help if I link a MGS5 trailer video which lists PS3 and XBOX360 logos? Shall I take a pic of the magazin? It's german though...

No, they say GZ for current gen and PP for both gen. So you wouldn't have to buy next gen consoles.

The magazin I'm talking about is the Play3. I can take a pic but it's german and you guys would have to translate it first. I can translate it, but how could you trust me *joking*?

EDIT: Well, since the play3 has a supercrappy website, I list another one:
http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/metal-gear-solid-5-the-phantom-pain/news/metal_gear_solid_5,48783,3010768.html

Google translation (english): http://translate.google.ch/translate?sl=de&tl=en&prev=_t&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&u=http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/metal-gear-solid-5-the-phantom-pain/news/metal_gear_solid_5,48783,3010768.html&act=url

Here's a source (english) which states that GZ comes for current gen: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/366056/confirmed-metal-gear-solid-ground-zeroes-is-current-gen-set-for-ps3-xbox-360-and-pc/

EDIT2
To sum it up:
GZ and PP have a connected story (GZ is the prequel)
GZ got announced for PS3/Xbox360 and just got announced for next gen as well (at E3).
PP is announced as PS3 and Xbox360 version (announced via trailers) and will, beause GZ the prequel will already come for next gen, be a next gen title as well.

What if Quiet is Naomi Hunter?

Their eyes look very similar to me. Also, quiet's face has scars that heal which I think is due to nanomachines. Don't forget that quiet's obviously going to look younger because it's in the 80's which is about 30, if not more, years in the past (her age could also be due to the nanomachines). Being that Naomi was with Frank Jager for a while, it's not really out of the norm that she learns combat (particularly long range combat) from him to support him. Quiet doesn't particularly mean that she's mute but maybe she just never wants to talk (until the ending hopefully?). It would also explain how she meets Big Boss (Punished Snake).

Another thing is will Solidus and Raiden make an appearance in this game? This is around the time and that video was around the area where Raiden was a child soldier. Maybe that trench coat guy with the beret *is* Solidus?

Eli could very well be Liquid too, since he would be about 11/12 during the events of Phantom Pain. The open jacket, necklace and hair heavily suggest that it could actually be him as they match his appearance in previous games.

It might be.

Here's some more speculation to keep the juices flowing:

What if code talker is the last living Philosopher? If that's child Psycho Mantis, does that mean he dived into Exiled Snake's head during his 9 year coma?

I wish I could keep track of the MGS story arcs. I've played all the games and read stuff but I'm still pretty lost most of the time.

 It's a lot of lore to keep track on. I refer to the Metal Gear wiki when needed.

Is this Solidus? Campbell?
