This advice is for the persons that din´t play the 24h Nurburing Endurance in A-spec mode. If you play this endurance, :ill: you already know this course, and how you have to tackle every twist and curve.

Most GT4 players play the game in this fashion, they finish first all the race events and some mission hall events. Then, then try to finish mission 11, 18, 29-34. At the end, for the NSTC version, you will only have Mission 34 let, and at that point, you will realize that you never pay attention to Nurburing (because you used a very powerful car to win some races or the B-spec mode for more difficult races like the Formula GT Championship or GT Stars.)

You try Mission 34 for the first time and you wind up finish with a +/- 2 min deficit. Then you try again and have the same result. Since the 2 min wait is grueling you stop trying after few attempts. If you play the next day, you will improve only 10-20 secs., and are still behind by a long shot.

What can you ? This advice is very popular: Buy the Mercedes McClaren stock and practice in the ring as many laps that you wan`t. This practice is not like the Mission (you don`t have 5-sec penalties, or long waits), and there will be some differences in your times even if you play exactly the same in the Mission or the practice. But it´s the best way to practice, since you don´t have penalties, you can experiment with drifting, some wallrides or grasscuts. Every day you try to pass this mission do the following: try 2-3 times to pass this mission, then practice some 4-6 laps with your garage car, then try 4-8 times to pass this mission. If you fail to pass this mission, do the other day the same steps, but know try to make a new record in your practice. You will see that this will reflect on a better time for the Mission. Eventually, by doing this routine many days, your gap will reduce steadily and your mission time will be almost equivalent to your practice time (add 2'06 min). Finally, when you make a pratice record below 7'06.296, that would be the signal, you would surely pass this mission. I passed this mission, even when the AI car finish below 9'13 and not above 9'13 as in another close calls.

Here I will show you my progression, and you can note that I didn't make much progress when I didn't practice.

Date 2005___ Practice Record __ Best Mission Time _Trail
12/7 _______ No Practice______ 9'43.132 _________+40.723
12/8 _______ 7'24.130_________ 9'34.983 _________+21.031
12/12 ______ 7'17.755_________ 9'23.897 _________+10.998
12/14 ______ 7'16.672_________ 9'18.081 _________ +5.054
12/17 ______ 7'11.696 ________ 9'17.979__________+4.235
12/18 ______ No Practice ______ 9'19.734 _________+6.387
12/19 ______ No Practice ______ 9'14.735 _________+1.881
12/20 ______ 7'08.180 ________ 9'13.667 __________+0.544
12/21 _____ 7'06.296 _______ 9'12.323 _________-0.610

You can easily watch how practicing payoffs.👍

After 3 days playing hard I finally did this last mission. Now I have 100%, I'm very happy with my new black F1 and thanks to all in this thread, your tips and videos help me to achieve this great mission.:)

Shame on you Kenny. I thought you had better training than that.

Good to see you have a pad back in your hands. Stop by and see us in WRS sometime. It would be good to mix it up with you again. 👍

I kinda figured another fellow WRS'er would come here and rebuke me

I just don't know where I was apaprently losing time in the beginning... the rest of the course I am on par with everyone else.

A little suggestion for those trying to beat mission 34... try doing the final licence tests for super licence where you drive the black mercedes on the nurbrugring. While it handles better, the speed is relatively the same, and more importantly, you will develop your learning of the track quicker as there is no wait time involved. You can continue to run the track over and over, and it will train you to stay on the road as well. The key to winning is just knowing the numerous blind corners, and having the guts to give to floor it through these corners. Once you have gotten gold, you can play with cutting grass and riding some rails if you feel like in the mission tests when you think you are ready. The upside to practicing this way is that you will also be giving yourself a chance to win gold on one of the tougher licence tests in the game... at least you are trying to accomplish another goal while practicing at the same time. If you get a good time in arcade mode, you will have nothing to show for it, but in the licence tests, you will at least get a gold medal out of your way.

Oh yeah... JAMAICAN.... I live in B.C. man.... where about you live? I can beat it for you if you are close enough by! LOL

Aww man,I just tryed mission 34 just for fun yesterday, and I still need 17 seconds less on my time!Jeez this is gonna take forever...........
Don't fret. There are plenty of people willing to help out as much as they can (myself included). Would a video help you to learn the track better? Here's a couple of vids...
NTSC (run by Mr.pot from US board)

PAL (run by me)

Hope this helps.

Thanks, that does help ,now I know at what time I need to pass the first car.But is there a diference in time between the NTSC and PAL?
In short... Yes.

Here' the long version...

The time that the car is capable of running around the track is the same, which makes what i'm about to say confusing (to me atleast).

In the PAL version we have to wait 1 min 55 seconds before we start. In the NTSC version the wait time is 2 min 3 seconds. Which means PAL players get an 8 second head start on catching the leader.

As you'll see if you watch my video, with the PAL version is very easy to finish miles ahead of the 300 SL.

The time i ran in my video is fast enough to win with NTSC. I made my video to show that there was no reason that we got a head start other than to make it easier for PAL players. That's why i'm confused.

I find that the SLR handles quite well over the bumps as long as you're not braking or turning sharply 👍

My problem is knowing which rumble strips are "safe" to stick a wheel over the top of and which ones will wreck me. :grumpy:

In my best time, I was about 13 seconds off the lead car(NTSC). I figure there's a lot of time to be made up, and I want to beat this mission cleanly(no cutting or wall riding, but side by side nudging with the AI is fine with me :) )

Here's a link to a full lap race line description of Nurb.

You'll find several notes about places where not to hit the kerb, where not to brake etc...(these notes apply in GT4!!!)

I hope that this helps.

i havent passed this but my friend went off in last corner!!! he was so pissed off!!! i just couldnt stop laughing at him!!

ok... i've only done this track a couple times, i don't really know it. i tried this mission and i need to shave about 30 seconds off... :nervous: feels like i'll never pass

now finishing 3rd and 17 seconds behind :dopey:

You're lucky you have a nice friend. If, after 3 days of trying this, I were to slide off at the end, and then my friend started laughing like a hyena.. he would have a fat lip.

Stick with it dude, it took me 3 days and you're a hell of a lot closer on your first couple runs than I was (well over a minute). Good luck!

Aww man,if I had PAL I would be able to win [almost].I am now geting 10seconds till winning, thought not a win a major improvement.Hehe since the NTSC version is 8 secs longer I have more to brag about:sly:.

something stupid happens when you get a penalty... the rear wheels lock-up... causing the car to spin one way, you try to countersteer the oversteer and it goes the other way, then you have no more control... feel like throwing the controller at the t.v.

BTW... i have a huge tip / secret that can easily shave off up to 3 seconds if done properly... and i know the elder gtp-ers won't be soo proud or happy to hear it, but the others that are struggling for an extra second or so will thank me :)

this might haven been known already, but you wallride this corner... full speed, no brakes whatsoever

when i realized how good i was doing my heart started beat like hell, my fingers were shaking too... i passed the 190e on the exit of the corner before the long straight, after that i became 'dumbstrucked', i saw the lead car whic caused my heart to pound even more, then i crashed at the end of the straight and got a 5 second penalty... i just laughed it off and walked away before i could smash anything

I know exactly what your talking about,it happens all the time to me:guilty:.

HAHAHAH!!!11 i got 9'12.821... i beat him by .242... i'm so happy and i'm shaking right now... i was shaking really bad on the mission and i just tried to remain calm...

i simply did one lap with my slr in my garage... then went straight to mission 34 with the same 'calm mode', and got it on my first try (for today). i passed the second car under the bridge at the end of the straight and saw the first car allll the way at the end, i was like, "there is no way i'm gonna catch him, espeicially with those corners i hate." i just pretend i didn't seem and just took my time. i glimpsed his rear while he was taking the last corner and i just took that corner as fast as i could... then i passed him... i'm soo happy now, ok i'll shut up now :)

EDIT: here's the car i won... i have the NSTC version

Having tried this damn mission god knows how many times & missing out by a couple of seconds, & finally got it, by 0.081 sec!

I tell you, id be rather annoyed if id missed out by 0.081 sec!

I think i know the track pretty well, its one of my favourites, & the slow in, fast out method works a charm, just gotta try and keep it tidy more than "trying" to be fast.

Mindyou, im happy i wont have to do it again!

I have everything in this game beaten except this little gem of a mission. I started yesterday with a best time of +32.xxx and now I am getting anywhere from +11 to +8, I just cant seem to do this:indiff:

thats h0t

Think of it like this, I have improved 20 + seconds in a day, a few more days practicing and I should be able to get those 8 seconds.

Have a look at your split times to those posted here and then see were you need to improve at.

In no time you will do it. And remember that slow in and fast out works best with this car and track combo.

When I did it seriously it took me a good 3-4 days to complete this mission.

I went from 5th, to 3rd, to 2nd and finally took 1st with a 3.4 second gap...ok yes I didn't exactly do a clean lap, but by then I'd lost patience trying it fairly, so I took whatever corners I could across the grass (which can save you around 5-8 seconds as I found out, providing you drive well through the rest)

:scared: GOOD GRIEF!

:dopey: It took two days, and almost a blister on my thumb (the controller was less stressful than wheel) but I FINALLY BEAT THIS MISSION 👍

For about 3 hours I was consistently losing by 3tenths or less:nervous: and I finally pulled off the last three turns smoothly. I will admit i had to use the....uhhhhh..ummm....walls in a couple of places; and I probably have some grass stuck under my SLR but the world can go on for me now!:dunce:

i find the 2 minute wait good in one way. because if you got it wrong you angerely restart and rush yourself to have another go. your fingers are tired. you're angry and you won't get it right...the 2 minute wait makes you calm down and relax your fingers, especially if you play VIA Gamepad. I have the PAL version and as far as i have seen you guys say its quite easy in the PAL one...i haven't beaten it and i tried many times so i probably suck.
