I did however check the TV guide and coverage begins at 2:15am, and the race at 2:30 officially, so perhaps we'll actually get a live telecast.

Yeah, that's the whole thing about thsi race, it's actually live! I wonder if USA will be live?

Anyway, good night of Motorsport tonight, first MotoGP the F1.

Micheal will win! But I'd like to see what JPM could pull togwether and maybe Ralf will have one of the on form days.

Well ****, that didn't take long, Trulli out barely 200m from the start line =/

He just said it was a suspension failure. He did well to avoid all the cars and get off the racing line, and then dodge the pit lane starters.

Ralf's charge seems to have stopped at 2.5 seconds, and Michael must be smiling, albeit he might be a bit annoyed to be trapped behind Montoya's rear diffuser, but it'll be temporary.

Barrichello has cleared Raikkonen and set the fastest lap, he's driving up to the back of Michael.

Thank god, someone else is out there!

It's an ad break atm here, Alonso was leading the Ferraris. I'm impressed how much fuel Ralf and Fernando had on board, but when you consider Michael was only a few hundredths away it sorta pales.

I like they way Barricello made use of the Minardi right there, he knows they're only there to draft. I'm liking how this is playing out, but I'm gonna keep an eye out for downed black cars;)

Wonder what the hell happened with that Jordan pitstop with Heidfeld, fortunately no one was injured.

Klien's not quite a stop was random, apparently his car's badly balanced and they suspected suspension failure ala Mark, so they brought it in for a check.

Button's slowly eating into Ralf whilst Schumacher happily rolls on. Rubens' drafting efforts were nice :D

There goes Alonso... Bad weekend for Renault. So much for his 1.5 second a lap charge.

I have NO idea how Sato didn't hit anyone. It was sure incredible luck.

haha, Michael's back in the 1'13s again, I think he's been saving his brakes all race so he can push the last stint.

Especially since both the Renaults failed. I never heard a reason for Alonso's retirement, that's the first time they haven't scored points this season.

Rubens got a ****ty deal out of all of that, Button's brakes seem to be wasted, Ralf almost seems to have conceeded and I think Michael has pace in the car if he needs to call on it.

Alonso had broken drive shaft, and my predictions for 1. and 2. were right...

that´s raikkönen´s third steering wheel i think.

Yep, he's made, 5 trips to the pits now? Thankful it's still going.

Sauber's moment was pretty big, I saw puffs of smoke spearing off before we got a shot of what happened, the cameraman was watching Montoya, who I don't think will beat Button.

My predictions have been shot to hell, I went Michael, Rubens, Jenson, Jarno, Fernando. Not quite the way it worked out.

Well, there we go, win number 7. I'm impressed the Williams' actually had race pace, I'm disappointed the Renaults lacked reliability given their blazing speed, and did both McLarens actually finish? Unbelievable.

Thanks to toler for watching with me :D

It was looking good, but finally it was just another race where almost everything was decided by strategy and mechanical failures, not one single (meaningful) passing on the track. Montoya came close to do it two times (and with Micheal that wasn't really for a position), and Barrichelo's attempts with Micheal were more like "Hey look everybody, I could if I wanted!" gooood boy... he was clearly faster than Schumacher. Also, I guess Sato still needs more golf sessions with Richards. The only good point about this race is that the other teams are slowly reducing the gap between them and Ferrari. Did anybody else noticed how warm the relations seems to be between the two brothers on the podium? :P

Dr Devil:

Oui, je parle Français et je regardais RDS... But as I said in other threads, I won't get excited about a possible JV comeback until it's officially announced. Sam Micheal just declared that Mark Weber is their #1 target. Frank Williams also confirmed that they met JV and will most likely run a test with him in August or September, so I guess he's #2 on the list, if Anthony Davidson is not.

And I've been on Crescent Street on Thursday, but there wasn't much to see by then... a bad music show, some ricers, an NSX, a Civic SiR cop car and an old BAR racer. It was overcrowded as hell. I enjoyed Peel Street though, where the Ferrari were. There were a Dino, 512 BB, a race Modena, a 365 GT2+2 among others. I might post some pics later.

Also yesterday night I've seen a club with 6 Ferrari 360 Modena parked in front, and while driving back home i've seen a Gallardo, a 356 spider and a 550 spider in a matter of minutes.

To be honest I have no idea what the hell happened in that race. I was having a bad time in my life at the time so I got drunk. Really really drunk.

All I saw were pretty colours.

 saw this race and was pretty amazing sucks that alanso suspension failed in the begining.

Another one of those Sato moves. You got to hand it to the guy, atleast he is trying.
I liked this race, shows what kind of geniuses they have at Ferrari. The only problem with Ferrari is that they won't allow Barichello to overtake M.Schumacher.Rubens was the fastest the entire race and although he said in the press conference that he was fighting with M.Schumacher we all know that wasn't true. The moment Rubens tried to overtake M.Schumacher he probably heard from the team that he should take it easy and slow down a bit.
Well anyway,i liked this one and can't wait for Indianapolis next week.

Toyota and Williams have just been disqualified because of illegal brakes
so now it´s

1. Michael Schumacher
2. Rubens Barrichello
3. Jenson Button
4. Giancarlo Fisichella
5. Kimi Räikkönen
6. David Coulthard
7. Timo Glock
8. Nick Heidfeld

I'm curious as to how Schumacher can hit a wall and get away with only a slowly deflating tyre. What the hell are these Ferraris actually made of?
Something that the other teams do not know what is; it has to be some kind of top secret military stuff.:lol::lol:

Another engine failure for Sato, what the hell does he do to them?
I think it is kinda like Kimi and he just seems to be the one who has bad luck with the car in general, maybe not though. But to me at least, that is the way it seems at the moment.

Woah! This sure is a surprise. Does anyone happen to know when the last time both Jordans finished in the points? How many points did McLaren have before this race, because I think they just doubled their number of points in the constructors?

The use of illegal brakes by Toyota and Williams sure is a surprise.
Thumbs up for Timo Glock! First F1 race and he finishes points AHEAD of his "more experienced" team mate. Heh

I'd say it was a good race. I was kept interested simply because Ralf lead most of the way. I was rooting for him. Then MS comes stomping along and it's all over. Damnit.

And was that Alonso driving the Renault that broke down before the first turn at the start of the race? I'm pretty sure it was Trulli.

On to the US GP!

Well I found myself very interested in the race, especially the beginning of it. When you had about eight drivers all farely close together for a pretty good amount of laps, it makes for good racing.

The first turn Renault was Jarno Trulli's car, but FA's later had a problem also.

Like SouL said, now onto the US GP! Hopefully Renault will not have the problems they did in Canada and also hopefully Taku will be able to make it through the entire race without some kind of mechanical problem.

👍

Basically Ferrari just showed again that they have a huge pace margin ove the rest. Ralf and Button had clear tracks ahead of them from the start, lighter fuel loads then Ferrari and still cound make it work for them.

Every race that progresses, I get more respect for Raikonnen. 5 stops and still a points finish! He just shuts his pie hole and gets on with the job. :tup to him.

And Fisi in the points again :) Good for Sauber, they are finally making good use of the Ferrari chassis and engine. Poor ol Toyota though, finally a points finish and they get disqualified. Sato is certainly doing his best to earn "Wally of the Year". Chucks it off in Quali2 and then again in the race. 👎

Yeah Sato's not having the best of seasons. I can't believe he just keeps having bad luck with the car when Button's never even looks like coming close to faultering. At least Coulthard's had some failures just like Raikkonen, Sato is scoring all the bad luck in the BAR garage if you're right Vash.

Timo Glock certainly did well, his first ever race, I was impressed he managed 11th, you can bet he's ecstatic to be promoted 4 places up. Granted, he'd probably prefer to have earned them but points are points. Realitsically, he did earn them I guess.

BTW, McLaren had 5 points in the Constructor's championship and have now veritably leapt to 12, more than double.

Edit: You're also right that it's great to see Sauber scoring points, their adherance to a 2 stop strategy is paying dividends, no doubt helped by the consistency of those Bridgestone tyres. They're 5th atm, their best ever championship finish was 4th in 2001, but we do have 10 races left.

Something interesting to consider from grandprix.com...

It is fair to say that the exclusion of the two BMW Williams from the results in Canada is a massive blow to Williams's World Championship ambitions in 2004 because it increases the gap between the team and BAR-Honda to 16 points. However there is one very positive side-effect of the change: Jordan had vaulted up the Constructors' Championship and that means that Jaguar Racing is now ninth in the order and has very little chance of moving up to sixth in the next couple of weeks. Jaguar needs to do this in order to meet the terms of the performance clause in Mark Webber's contract for next year. McLaren's gain in Canada lifts the target for sixth in the Constructors' from seven points to 12 and as Jaguar has only three it must score a victory at Indianapolis if it is to be sixth before July 1, which is believed to be the date when Webber's performaance clause is applied.

Ouchie...

^ hmm, interesting point there. I think Webber is off for Williams or Renault anyway no matter how many points that crippled cat scores...
