For all people calling for Gordon's suspension or saying negative things about him, answer these question. How long have you been watching NASCAR? What year did you start watching NASCAR? If you answer 2001 or later, then you are clearly forgetting Dale Earnhardt would do this kind of stuff every other week and never got suspended, nobody ever "lost respect" for him, and the only people calling it wrong were the ones that got wrecked.

Because they didn't do anything when Hornaday got wrecked by Kyle, and if they do something about this it'll just show how inconsistent they are with their rules.

Really not seeing how Bowyer is at fault, or is the bad guy here. Gordon time and time again in recent history has gotten heated very quickly over minor incidents. We saw him do it some years back with JJ and even Jr this year after a minor incident. Cursing over the radio in a Kurt Busch esque style. Bowyer raced him hard a few times this year, a couple were Gordon getting lose and Clint being there, thus him being at fault. Never does Jeff blame himself.
I'm not a Bowyer fan, but from the replays, all it is is racing and Gordon wants to see it the other way. Perhaps Clint thinks he can race Gordon hard due to history, but that isn't so anymore it would seem.

Neither did Gordon, he stood up for himself against something he felt was wrong, which NASCAR has allowed before and should continue to allow.

I've been watching since 94 and I even have what some would call a shrine that pays homage to Earnhardt who was my favorite driver. He would never wreck someone unless it was blocking his chances of winning. If he was down a lap or not even in the realm of winning, he would not ruin someones race. But if he were faster than them and they wanted to race hard or block him, it was different. What Gordon did was Petty, and on the same level as Vickers wrecking several people last year due to anger.
I would say that Stewart or BK is closer to how Dale raced and wrecked people.

I had to sign in just for this race.
I've been watching Nascar for over 20 years and this brings back some memories. Memories of when Nascar was the Winston Cup Nascar. This was when some drivers would wreck their own mom if they did something they did not like.
Ok on the situation that happened today.Clint Bowyer had this coming to him.This makes the 4th or 5th time Bowyer has done something to Jeff Gordon,but Jeff never did anything about it.Today's incident was the last straw and Jeff put him out.Yes it came at a bad time,but it was high time that Clint learns a lesson.
Do I lose respect for Gordon?Heck no! If anything I've gained more respect for him.As an aging driver in Gordon I thought he had finally lost his competitiveness and said I give up when it comes to something of this nature.When you see what Clint was doing to Gordon on the track,the more I looked at it, the more I felt it was intentional.Bowyer was pretty much saying I can do this and you won't do nothing about it.Not today Bowyer, you just got knocked off your high horse.
Many will disagree with my take on this,but I come from a time when Nascar was about Racing hard and if an incident like this happened you would just say "well that's racing."
Back to the Championship at hand.If Brad can keep his car clean and finish 12th or better(that is if Johnson wins next week) he will have this won.He just needs to keep racing his race like he has been and all will be good.
Congrats to Harvick getting a win.RCR really needed a win as it's been a while.

How so? They did a great job getting two of their cars into the Chase. And their third car has won or been in the top five with three different drivers. Then Bowyer's team which was virtually put together overnight 11 months ago, has or had a real chance at winning Toyota's first championship in their first chase with him.
Something that the beloved JGR team which is believed to have the fastest Toyotas hasn't done. Even when they are the ones with the most victory gained drivers pre-chase.
So basically, I just want to understand why you say this. Try not to take this the wrong way.
