I didn't see any option to change the banking in track editor and Talledega wasnt listed in the track list. Im starting to get worried. Either way GT5 is going to be my favorite game of all time, I already know that will be true. But I really hope they have more then just Daytona.

Thoughts and opinions on what tracks you would personally use for a 5 race NASCAR series?

1. Indianapolis
2. SSR7
3. Leguna seca
4. High speed ring
5. Daytona Speedway

In my eyes, that would be quite a fun series.

Ideally the old Monza with the banking would be even better. Gran Turismo does like its old track versions.

I would say:

1. Daytona Speedway
2. Indy Road
3. Laguna Seca or Monza
4. Daytona Road
5. Indy Speedway

I'm a little skeptical of the SSR7 stage. It seems like it would be fun the first few times but I can see myself getting bored on that one. Hopefully I'm wrong, though.

Just watched the old GT5 Preview video with the NASCAR debut and noticed a few cars that haven't been mentioned. There some color variations of the DuPont car and a NAPA car. Hopefully more than that since there are going to be 16 cars in a race.

I think this would be a good set also.

Daytona Speedway
High Speed Ring
Grand Valley Reverse
Circuit de la Sarthe no chicane
Indianapolis

You have to start at Daytona and end with an oval, so Indy for that.
High Speed 2nd would help get use to the car.
Grand Valley for the road coarse with elevation changes.
Le Sarthe just for the fame and I think a Cup car would be pretty good there.

Motegi Super
Test Track
These would be great, but they're not in the game.

If this were for an online series this would be great but if they were to be run alone (TT style) I would change out Le Sarthe for Tokyo. It's shorter and would be good for Cup cars.

I can´t believe it´s the fifth installment of GT and we still can´t adjust tire pressure. (tekken videos show tuning options).

That´s the most important setting you can do during a Nascar race. I can´t believe it´s not in.

What´s next? You make wedge adjustments during pits? No 2 tires pits?

I knew GT5 wasn´t going to be a full fledged Nascar, but i expected a little bit more out of PD.

Laguna Seca is narrow! When I went there, I was surprised cars could ever fit on the track. NASCAR would be a tight fit. :scared:

Might you be kind to point me to a link of this video? I'm curious to see what you can adjust. Not having tire pressures is ridiculous. That and the bump stops are two of the most important parts of the car when it comes to making it turn.

This can happen. Orginally SCANA (Stock Car Association of North America) was sought out to have 16 races for a season. Then we cut it down to 10 races for 1 season.

http://gt5-scana.net/season-one-schedule

Now that we have the track list, season one's schedule can be shaped a bit more. And once we learn how the track editor works, and if it can produce a few more ovals for us, we can include those into season 2.

RACECAR and myself have joined together to start this series. Any thoughts on the in development website we have?

Well, its not a finished product. :) So I don't have that setup. Thanks for signing up.

Oh ok gotcha. I'll keep checking back regularly as it seems like a pretty cool thing you are setting up. I'd love to participate!

I sure hope so. A lot goes into it. We are still developing everything. You can help us test the race model.

Front page of the forum, the thread with all of Tekken´s videos.

The one where he goes thru the tuning options avaliable.

Signed up and all that. Looking forward to starting that off. Hopefully if this does not pan out, you're looking to do something similar with NR2011 which (hopefully) is incoming.

I think SCANA can run a few seasons with GT5. There is still hope, and still a lot we do not know about DLC, and the track editor. I have not thought about NTG2011, and SCANA, but it think its a possibility.

I look forward to your participation.

Here is a look at SCANA initial qualifier. This is still up for debate. When we officially announce the series, it will be set in stone. :)

I. Initial Qualifying
a. All drivers who sign up will run a Time Trial i. The Time Trial will be comprised of three laps, taking your best out of
three laps. 1. Think of them like hot laps. ii. The fastest drivers will be rewarded by starting first in the 100 mile
race
iii. The top 8 fastest drivers will also be rewarded by being placed into top
tier 1 & 2
1. 4 drivers each tier, at random
b. There will be a initial qualifying race i.
ii. The rest of the drivers who qualified with be placed into groups
according to qualifying times
c. There will be groups of 16 that race one 100 mile race i. Upon completion of the 100 mile race; The top 4 of each group will be
placed into tier 1 1. If there are not enough drivers to fill tier 1, then the top 5
II. drivers will be placed in tier 1 2. The next 4 to 5 drivers from each group will be placed in Tier 2 3. The next 4 to 5 drivers from each group will be placed in Tier 3 4. The next 4 to 5 drivers from each group will be placed in Tier 4 POST Season Qualifying
a. b. In each tier, the top 5 drives will have the entitlement to that series In each tier, excluding tier 1, the point’s winner from that tier will have the
change to move to the next tier. i. This does not apply to tier 1 ii.This is optional, if the winner chooses to move up
c. Limited by the game, there will only be 16 places available to racers for each
series. Post season, there will be 5 places, comprised of the top 5 of each tier,
for each series excluded from the next round of qualifying. i. Additionally there can be up to 6 places reserved for racers. Counting
the optional champion from the lower tiers. (This Excludes Tier 1, as
d. they do not have the option of the ladder system) The drivers who are not in the top 5 or a champion of their tier will need to
qualify again to be locked into a series. i. Drivers can be booted out of the series if they qualify poorly

I just checked out the site and I gotta say, that looks really fun. You guys have really thought about the details and seem to have it figured out. I would like to participate but I have two questions.

1. Once you have the 12 drivers filled up, can anyone else sign up in another league or is it first come first served?

2. ALso, I'm wondering about the schedule. Is it going to be the same time and day every week? Because I have a pretty crazy work schedule. What would happen if someone has to miss a race?

Other than that, I think once the game comes out, and you can get it set in stone, your series will be awesome.👍\

EDIT: I just saw your post above mine.

I signed up for SCANNA, it looks fabulous. I signed up as M-Stall41.

Quick question: how do you plan on getting around the 11 car issue?

1. The number 12 was pushed because one of the members of SCANA, which is no longer with us wanted to leave wiggle room. I think we could fill up all 16 places, because to be honest, this series will be popular.

With that being said, with only three groups it will be competitive. My hope was to provide two hard core tiers, and 1 soft / "for a not so experienced' driver. With 3 tiers, at the series current structure, that gives us 36 drivers. If we were to extend each group to 16's, then we can include more people.

Knowing this, the current ladder system will allow outsiders to get in. Our original thoughts was to guarantee 8 drivers immunity for each passing season. My thoughts have been to shrink this number to the top 5 drivers. Making the series much more competitive, and thus allow more outsiders a chance to race into season 2.

If SCANA was to get some dedicated help, then i would think we could run a 4th series.

2. Yes, the racing schedule will be fixed, with maybe a bye week half way through. If you miss a race, then it will hurt you in the points. If you know you cannot fully commit the series, then you may want to reconsider joining.

Although, if there is always a possibility of changing things up if many racers cannot make it. Food for though.

Any Nascar series should start and end with Daytona. It's a shame they didn't include Sebring.

The racing schedule is preliminary. Thus, open for change! :)

It seems messed up PD would do that...And how in the world could two of the same car # be in a race. My thoughts, a Stock car is a stock car, so the decals and numbers do not matter. What matters to me is who the driver is, and how he/she does in the race. You all know as I do that the online environment goes by the drivers name, not the car. It would be nice to have 16 different car numbers, but I will take what I can get.

And there is still download content to think about. Hopes...

i dont get it ? why take such a boring sport like nascar and add them to gt5 .. .. I mean aren't the Standared Car's not boring enough:lol: why over kill it :odd:

Clearly you have no idea what it takes to drive one of those beasts. 900 horsepower and 10 inch wide tires don't get along at all. Now throw in the fact the suspension is old tech, and 40 other cars on the track and you get something very challenging to compete in. If its so easy why don't you go make your millions now?
