Is this question a joke? It have to be because well it´s to obvious that it´s cgi and not ingame.
That's just your assumption, though. For all we know, that really could be in-game, esp. considering that PD has never used CGI to demonstrate a teaser trailer before.

The only thing I could see is that it is the equivalent of Photo Mode. It's in-game, just cleaned up.

So you've never seen a restart at Daytona or Talladega?

Anyways, 16 cars seems to be the perfect amount. Normally there is only 10-12 cars that are capable of winning in a weekend anyways.

I just can't wait to do the 24hours of the Ring in the #14.

Sorry I forgot to say that I've counted 16 cars maximum in the GT5 trailer:lol:
I know that NASCAR grids are 43 cars.

Anyone see the humor in this pic?

Is it me, or is the guy in the green taking a leak on the car...

So you really believe this was ingame? Of course they used cgi and this was also cgi. The good thing is they don´t overdo it so the Cars for example really look like in the trailers.

They seem to use the car models from the game (well they are good enough to use them).

+ NASCAR cars

NEUTRAL NASCAR tracks

- [If there are] Lots of NASCAR ovals taking up dev time (just not a fan).

I'd really, really prefer full ALMS integration, but Endurance racers have been in the game since GT1, so I guess I shouldn't have to worry.

I don't think there will be many, maybe 5-6 tracks NASCAR races on, or at least NASCAR style tracks. Even if there are only Daytona, Indy andd Infineon there are a couple other tracks NASCAR would be fun on.
Motegi Speedway
El Capitan
High Speed Ring

I do think it's in-game. You said yourself that they seemed to use cars from in-game. What else could be CGI? The tracks aren't obviously, they look just as good as GT5:P. The cars are all driving like they should.

A NASCAR around the nurburgring:idea:

first off, if you're going to come into this thread to show your displeasure with NASCAR being in the game thats fine, but please dont display your ignorance of the sport and racing in general. I think you know who I'm talking to.

If you think all ovals are just circles you are indeed clueless. Every oval is different in many ways, even Daytona and Talladega are extremely different despite the track layout appearing to be the same. I hope Darlington gets in the game and is a license test just so all the loud mouth NASCAR haters can pick up their Darlington stripe

As for driving the cars being boring, can it be more boring then the F1 car? A 5 year old could drive the GT5P F1 car. Heck, the car drives itself. Low weight, super sticky tires, absurd amounts of downforce and mechancial grip. No feel of driving at all.

Yet you want to come in here and moan about stock cars getting in the game but praise the "super glued to the track" F1. Whatever

Do you think pit stops will look like that?

somebody insulted nascar (which you like?) and you now want to hit him back? Well ok, I can understand that it´s not fair what he did. I am also not a nascar fan but I think it could be fan to try it in GT5. .;)

But what you are doing with the F1 talk is just as bad as the other guy. It´s completely wrong, the F1 Races are the hardest you can have. Doesn´t matter if in the reality, games like Live for Speed (great Driving Simulator for PC) or even in the GT5 Prologue.

And I think you know it, its just that intense that you are even after a few laps on Suzuka totally worn out. Of course the handling of an Formula 1 car is totally different then the handling of a Nascar, I saw on youtube Montoya on the Letterman show he was funny. ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBKQ-bAs9RA

Montoya: "Somebody asked me what is the difference between a Nascar and a Formula 1 car, well have you ever driven a pickup and a Ferrari." ;)

And he also said yes the cars are totally different but that doesn´t mean the racing is bad, that is fair I would say. :)

I don't mind NASCAR races it is something different in GranTuismo world but what about V8SuperCars how come there did not put them in there?????? :nervous::nervous

They take models (of cars and Buildings and so on) and let it render in cgi like that you get a Video that is not to far away from ingame but you get details you normally don´t have.

Like this you can also include things into the game that are still missing for example if the Damage isn´t ingame yet you can have it in the trailer with cgi and let it look not too far away from what we have now in the game.

I am really surprised to hear that somebody believes that Concept Movie was ingame.

Yes I think its funny that people are quick to say this is ingame and Forza 3 is cgi, hilarious.

Sorry, I don't think I quite understand. All that technical terminology is like Greek to me.

Well, technically, all graphics produced on a computer (such as the gameplay assets) are CGI. I think you mean that it's pre-rendered video.

Having said that, I remember there was one time GTHD was "CGI"...;)

Not hitting back, just stating the truth.

That's all fine and dandy, but doesn't change the fact the F1 car in GT5P requires almost zilch skill to drive. If you want to turn the GT5P F1 into a stock car add 50HP, take out 75% of the downforce, smaller surface area on the tires, and add 2000 lbs and you have a stock car.

Montoya: "Somebody asked me what is the difference between a Nascar and a Formula 1 car, well have you ever driven a pickup and a Ferrari." ;)

Just give the pickup 830 HP

And do you know that Montoya also said a transition from F1 to NASCAR is tougher then a transition from NASCAR to F1? I'll grab the link if you want it.

I haven't watched an F1 race since the Chinese Grand Prix. The racing has become atrociously bad. And no, I'm not an F1 hater and NASCAR lover. This year I've followed SuperBikes, NASCAR, ALMS, Indycars, and all these series have had far better racing then F1. That's my opinion.

Well it´s not that important as we already have the Prologue we know how good the game is looking. We don´t have to bother about cgi or not cgi.

But it still would have been nice to see somebody play the game on the E3 and and maybe some crashing where we can see more about the damage and how far they are at the moment with the development.

NASCAR is a cool addition, though I am no fan of NASCAR. Still I wonder, why not just purchase a NASCAR game? It'd be the focus of the game. I fear this may attract gamers who have been skeptical or unsure of the series (those that like NASCAR), only to let them down somewhat. You can only add so much to a single game. It at least better not be half "assed". If you add NASCAR, add NASCAR, not GT's interpretation of NASCAR.

i hope they have triovals as well. The ones in the UK and Germany (Rockingham + EuroSpeedway Lausitz) also have great road course variations.

What do you NASCAR guys think about Michigan Speedway? I downloaded it on GTR2 and it's a very fast track.

Well EA has been making NASCAR games for several years now and they all are terrible. I doubt PD can do worst. I want to see what they can do with it. Also, this question can be applied to the F1. Why not buy Codemaster's Formula 1 game?

EDIT: Look how far they've gon in the detail, even adding the NASCAR officials in the pitstops

Yeah hope they include the better ovals, and not the cookie cutters.

As for michigan yeah that is one of my favorite ovals. There are so many great ovals out there. Milwaukee Mile, Bristol, Lowes Motor Speedway, Darlington etc etc.

Well if you have played any of EA's NASCAR games you would understand why fans are rejoicing over them losing the license. They are horrible, the last one didn't even have manufacturers on them. They were also glitchier than hell(I flipped 14 times at a flat track in NASCAR 08).

If there are no fireworks in pit lane, I'm totally going to hate on it. :grumpy:

;)

By the way, the F1 car driven with a Logitech wheel with FFB on 10 is a BEAST! Go down the straights and you have to grip it like a bear or it shakes like a paint mixer. Driving that thing is like lifting weights!

I am not talking about watching the Racing on the TV and well of course you are allowed to have your opinion on what is more fun to watch for you, just like I have my own opinion, no reason for me to bash nascar just because I find it boring I have no problem with people who like it. ;)

But we were talking about the racing and in that Point you are just wrong yes the car have a much better handling then the other cars and if you drive slow it is easy to handle.

Even if I do admit the the F1 car in GT5 is a little bit to arcadish compared to the F1 car in Live for Speed (well the Simulation on the PC are always more demanding) for Example it´s still intense to drive the F1 car with a Wheel over a real race track like Suzuka.

If you haven´t till now just take your wheel turn all aids off and drive 10 fast laps (normal race is about ~60laps in f1) in the F1 on Suzuka without going off the track in every lap.

Well I don´t know what to say to your whole turning F1 into nascar talking, why would be somebody that stupid to try something like that? Its like trading a Ferrari for a golf. Of course Racing with an golf could also be fun but the Ferrari is just sooo much better then a golf.

For the F1 driver driving Nascar, Nascar Driver driving F1 thing the whole thing is easy. To win races in both of them you need talent as a driver. So like Montoya said it if you are good in f1 you can drive in nascar and if you are good in nascar you could drive f1. But beeing really good in one of the two doesn´t mean you are really good in the other one also.

One driver have more talent for Formulas and the other for Rally or Nascar or what ever and of course the experience also matter..

Look at Sébastien Bourdais he switched from Champcar where he won 4 championships in row to Formula 1 and he was beaten by his teammate Vettel in his first year and this year he is again beeing beaten by his teammate Buemi a newcommer. And he is even coming from an openwheeler. :x

To Earth and Northstar3914: I had no idea lol. Well, then I further embrace the idea to add NASCAR! I bet they'll provide for some nice prize cars (not able to be purchased).

Just wanted to let you know I read your entire post, and while I don't agree with some of it to prevent this thread from going off topic and going down the drain I won't make a reply.

I think I can live with that. :)

Well back to topic again: I am really wondering if they are going to have animated pitcrew in GT5. I would love it if they have. :)

In the video they had NASCAR style pit stops, so hopefully they will in the full game.
