The amount of people rage-quitting races in Competitive is absolutely astonishing. I have had over 10-20 people rage quit races just because they weren't first place going into the first corner. I've had people rage-quit simply because they were getting beat using the F132. I've also had people rage-quit in circuit races in a F132 mirror match just because they can't race properly and crash into every wall. There has to be some kind of penalty for constantly quitting races, this is getting ridiculous.

Welcome to online gaming. Take a 12 year old who wants to win and put them up against a 20 something who knows how to win and the odd 30 something in it for the pleasure and you get a regular stream of tantrums. Be thankful there is no microphone support (I'm looking at you GTA Online)

The F132 is literally the X1 of NFS. People will automatically not want to race with you because you're using it.

I'd say the 911 RSR fits that criteria a bit better (if you tune it, that is). The F132 is definitely no slouch, though. P:

Not really. Considering the F132 handles significantly better than literally every car in that game and has the fastest acceleration without tuning. Its really fits that whole OP fantasy car criteria.

If that's the case, that would explain the other F132 I raced that left my races twice after getting overtaken in the corners. I'll probably go back to doing daily objectives like I used to. It's a shame because I love the car. I love it's sound and looks, for me, the handling and speed are just bonuses to me.

I'm not sure how things work on the PS4 side of things, but on the Xbox One side, competitive mode is basically another form of All-Drive. I have yet to see any real competitive racing. Hell I try to invite people and no one bothers.

As for the F132, I bought one last night and I'm genuinely surprised. It handles nicely, has good power, and a high RPM limit. Top speed is down compared to my other cars, but for a car you can't customize performance wise, it's pretty damn good.

How can I change the Manual gear controls, it's impossible to steer and apply NOS with shifting now :grumpy:

Go into Settings, and look for Controller Settings/Game Settings. There should 4 presets to use. Personally, Preset 3 is best for me but find the one you like the most.

It appears to me as a PS4 player that it's doing pretty well, there are always people sending invites to all players, and most of the time the players are doing well in driving.

Maybe I've been getting into bad lobbies, but people mostly just drag race and do car meets. The one or two proper races I do get into usually end with me by myself.

So far, the only complaint I have about this game is not being able to initiate spontaneous races while cops are chasing you. I want to complete the list of all cars being beaten, but some of the ai opponents seem to love nothing more than speeding past the police stations, then cruising when the heat is on. If I just push to lose the cops, then it's a nightmare trying to cross paths with the needed car again.
Other than this headache, I love everything about this game!

They said it would be coming in the future. No clue when though.
You know what really set me off about the wheel support? No support for the Thrustmaster T80.

I mean c'mon. I know the T80 is a cheap wheel and hardcore racing gamers or wheel users or whatever might say it's trash but nearly all of the games I could think of at the top of my head that has wheel support *The Crew, Project Cars and I think GT6, to be honest the wheel is absolutely horrible when it comes to GT6* supports this wheel. Heck if that wasn't enough, NFS 2015 has wheel support for a couple of Thrustmaster wheels and they even have a Thrustmaster sticker in game.

Well I guess I'm sticking with the good old ghetto GTA V wheel method.

Well that's NFS for you. IIRC Hot Pursuit 2010 had correct gears as well, then they removed everything for MW 2012 :grumpy:

Pretty sure I remember extra gears in NFSU2, and I definitely remember that Carbon gave more gearing to some vehicle after you upgraded the transmission. So this isn't entirely new for a NFS game.

The thing is though, is that an extra gear in NFSU2 could be purchased as a 6 speed transmission. You could choose to either ignore it or buy it. In NFS 2015, no matter what, if you upgrade your car at all past a certain threshold you get extra gears. My Skyline and S2000 have 8 gears because of this.

The number of extra gears depends on how much you have increased the top speed of a car. Instead of adjusting the stock ratios, upgrades just add extra ratios.

Gotcha. Yeah, I don't remember the choices being that clear cut. I just remember you can either do a transmission upgrade or not, and after doing so I was like "Huh, I have another gear!"

As far as the new game is concerned, I would prefer it to be more realistic in that regard, but it's hard to determine where to draw the line.... I mean, as a game developer, if you are going ensure that each car has the proper number of gears based on reality, then shouldn't the HUD gauges be car-correct as well? And if you are going for authenticity, shouldn't the cars handle authentically? And if you are going for realism, shouldn't you get taken away by the cops in handcuffs and never be able to touch a car key again? - So my point is, NFS has never been about being 100% authentic and/or realistic. To enjoy such a game, we need to suspend certain expectations. NFS isn't supposed to be all of those things. And to me, that's a breath of fresh air, because there are plenty of other titles which try to mimic realism.

That totally makes sense. Not that it's the best way of handling it, but it makes sense.

Having played the game for almost a month now (along with multiple story resets), here's my short review of it:

Pros:

- Great amount of customization options.

- Large map to roam around. Highways are definitely a blast. Touge roads are also nice.

- Car roster seems realistic. I don't mind the absence of hypercars since the game focuses on the tuner "build" culture. Supercar builds are still okay (if you are going to mimic UR Lamborghinis, then why not?). Classics are definitely most welcome.

- Tier system is absent, so performances of all cars are somehow on the balanced side, and I'm happy to find out that you don't even need to own a supercar to finish the game.

- The real-life personalities as the Icons, being the rivals in the game are a nice touch.

- The manual transmission is the best add-on ever. 👍

Cons:

- Physics are infuriating. Drifting is nice, but it's not something we use ALL THE TIME even in high speed corners. 200 km/h drifting? Play Burnout instead. Plus, most cars have this annoying tendency to automatically and unnecessarily correct their steering even on high speed runs, to the point that you'll end up crashing the walls despite no steering effort done at all. The best ever physics in the NFS series? Underground 2 and 2005 Most Wanted!

- Story is too short. Cutscenes are rather bland, and I hate Spike more than Amy. If he wants Magnus Walker's ride, then he must work for it himself, instead of others doing it for him. That's a cliche rich guy for ya. Oh, I also hate Travis, as I think he's more trouble than he is worth. If I were the main character, I could have exposed him to his friends about his Outlaw activities. I hate people who keeps so much secrets to themselves. What I do whenever I race him? I am having fun on ramming his 240Z.

- Unrealistic gear ratios. What grinds my gears (see what I did there? :P ) is the fact that tuned cars get extra ratios. I am just irked at the fact that, let's say, a Nissan Fairlady 240ZG can have 8 forward gears when maxed out. Why can't we just have the ability to adjust original gear ratios to suit the increased power instead? I'm game on a five-speed 240Z, as long as I get to tinker with the ratios.

- A.I. still has the classic EA rubber band.

Overall, I'd rate the game 6 out of 10. I would rate it much higher, if EA ditched the Burnout physics.

Honestly I think Magnus Walker and Ken Block *i'll talk about Ken a bit more further later in the post* was the only interesting thing about the story in this game because Spiky mentions about Magnus having his own bridge which makes you question as to how rich Magnus could be.

Also they screwed up Morohoshi-San pretty bad. Hes just really bland I mean how on earth could they do that. 0 character development which should be really impossible if you know about his real life backstory. Like for example, Morohoshi-San works for a Yakuza in Japan and he even admits what he's doing is bad. C'mon Ghost games, why on earth couldn't you throw that in?

I didn't mind Ken Block though as I think he had little more character development than Magnus IMO. This is honestly the game where they put more use to Ken's contract with EA. Although they could have added a little more to his character like giving us some backstory behind his rally career.

I know we can all look these icons up to learn more about them but there shouldn't be anything wrong about Ghost Games giving us proper character development. Also nearly all of these icons I had no clue about them up until their existence in NFS 2015.

Downloaded the update last night to try it out and the game is still crap.

You're limited to 5 rims and barely any parts, and the handling physics are still just dumb. Turned out of the garage last night and the car immediately did some magic physics and ran into a wall and I quit the game out. Also, I know a Hot Rod isn't the fastest thing ever, but a custom built one should accelerate a little bit quicker EA.

I Still keep trying to give them some sort of saving grace but I really don't think it's possible at this point.

This has got to be the worst handling model I've ever encountered, even against games that don't even have driving as a primary focus(GTA, Battlefield.) It's atrocious. The magnet-like walls don't help either, and the fact that even some of the slightest wall taps send you flipping down the road doesn't as well.

The steering input is just plain bad, and feels like it takes ages for it to revert back to center. A quick tap in one direction to adjust a lane will work, but then all of a sudden it's as if you threw in another quick tap and it sends you farther in that direction again. That must be the auto steering thing I guess? Whatever it is, it's just plain bad.

I'm really glad that Manual Transmission was thrown in, but damn is it horribly optimized and just seems to have not had any thought put into it. It's odd, when I try to shift into seventh sometimes(why would I ever be shifting into 7th in a 240sx) it just seems to do a clutch kick instead of actually shifting up. Another problem is the gears take way to long to go through. I shouldn't have to go through gears 6-1 in consecutive order just to get into reverse from a stop, that's just odd.

If it wasn't for the photomode and the customization, this game would have been set back even farther than what it already is. When I jump on the game just to build a car and take photos, I have a good amount of fun. When I get on to actually play the game, that's another story.

People keep comparing the handling to Burnout, when in actuality, you had way, waaaaaaaaay more control over your car within Burnout Paradise than you do with NFS. But then again, comparing this halfassed game to one of the best games ever made is heresy.

I didn't even bother trying the manual, cause what's the point if you can't control your car.

The Hot Rods really piss me off though. There's more freedom and customization within GTA V and the few they have there than there is with "Deep car customization" of NFS. Want to put Advan trispokes on a hot rod in GTA? Do whatever you want! NFS? nope. Here's some steelies and wires and white walls or not, get out. It's like they want to do somethign cool but get halfway through and decide screw it. I get it limits people doing dumb stuff with it, but still.

Also, whoever did the mapping for the car liveries needs to have their head checked, especially with the back *side* of the wagon being mapped onto the top portion is just bizarre.

Keep giving this game a bit of hope, and want it to match the level of hype I had before release, but EA continues to ruin it.

I feel that this part right here accurately describes most of the features that are in this game. Good ideas, and sound great, but executed poorly. Is it the fact that everything is free that is causing problems with quality, or is it solely just the execution and forethought? I feel it may be a little of both.

What's going on with the left and right sides of the Supra? The vinyls on one side are lower/higher than the other. It's really obvious when you insert all from one side to the opposite and the vinyls get cut off or end up halfway over the skirts instead.

It could just be an oversight. There's a ton of little details and things that are screwed up. Did you know that the RX-7's tire profiles don't match?

I may be late in the discussion about that F132 or whatever it is, but it's no slouch in any shape or form. But I can't get myself to buy it. I'm happily content in my RSR. I'll run people into the ground with that car.

Just like that last race where you race everybody, On The Dream Team; the fastest I've ran is a 8:03.
A Legend's Wheels, I've ran a 1:17. I'm trying to get to a 1:16..
