I never get any of the tech issues mentioned by various people in this thread. Particularly people think the disc version is worse but I don't see any logic in saying this. For me, it has never frozen once except for when concours was glitched. Also, a digital version wasn't on the cards for me. Sony wanted $60 for the PSN version, and a disc version at Blockbuster was $40. (If the PS4 is going to succeed, Sony need to pull their act on pricing of digital content, I swear it should be cheaper, not more expensive). Anyway, I'm almost done with this game. Unless theres more DLC or AOS revives EOTW, theres little in this game aside for an occasional online game. Shame really, I thought this would have as much playablity as Burnout Paradise, but I guess I hoped a little too much.

The freezing is really variable though. You're one of the lucky ones that don't have the gremlins. From my experience, when it freezes it's either due to a disc loading issue (I can hear the BR drive going a few seconds just before it froze) or a server update issue (I lost connection to autolog a few seconds before it froze). The problem is not with my system, because it doesn't happen in other games, and before the DLCs online wasn't freezing at all (only disconnecting).

The only real solution would be to add an install to HDD option. But I guess EA is too scared people will hack game datas and such...

Did you tried the Smash and Grab events in single player? Some of them are going to annoy you a lot because they freeze the console a few seconds before you finish the event :grumpy:

I played NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 this week and too surprise the online is still active, the DLC events online not so much.

Yeah I always completed all single player stuff before going online. Everything is fine offline. It's just online that's really unstable. It's a shame because MW is one of those games where offline doesn't have much replay value (except maybe competing with friend's times).

Pretty much confirms end of support for MW then.

Even if it's just a side project I doubt EA is allowing Criterion to fiddle with MW anymore. More likely they're told to develop the next NFS along with this project. If you look back at Hot Pursuit they dropped support after what, around 6 months? That deadline is coming soon for MW.

It's probably another burnout, which Criterion did confirm in a twitter post that they wanted feedback for what the "people" want in a burnout game, and somehow someone will screw it up.

I decided to give this game a try, by borrowing it at my local library. I must admit, that I don't like it. Particularly the steering and the fact that you'll smash into everything if you're driving above 175 km/h (might just be me) is bothering me.

Not really you're just bad at the game because you're not practiced at it.

You do know games are in development a couple months before the one they just finished is out? Most Wanted was being made while Hot Pursuit was still sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped out.

One of the devs clearly said on Twitter he was joking about them making another Burnout. There's no way they are releasing a full Burnout or NFS game in a years time of the last game released. When devs release games yearly like that the game SUCKS!!! This ain't PS2 days no more kids where you can make a decent game in a year.

You could make a decent game in a year, as long as the engine and the graphics and mechanics are the same (COD) just add a few random things and then send it out.

Already discussed #roadrash with@MitchyD last month. Already done enough sequels and reboots for now. #goingforwardnotback
Hopefully this means whatever they are making right now isn't a sequel. I'd rather see something new than another NFS game.

To be honest Most Wanted feels like it has been rushed in a year or maybe two, to me. I mean, yeah sure the sound and graphic engines are awesome (though they could be improved, considering illogical decisions like the lack of a photomode, and details like the use of the same sound across several cars and brands or that turbo BOV noise fail on supercharged cars since the last update), but the actual gameplay content of the game seems pretty few to me.

If you compare it to the original Most Wanted, the Blacklist, the overall epic story line (in NFS context especially), what are we left with? Some racing offline against the rubber band AI which quickly becomes old (and it's not really motivating having to start over unlocking upgrades and pro upgrades on each car, but it's the only thing to do aside from the 10 single race events which they call Blacklist Most Wanted list), same online with the balancing which is required because roughly 70% of the races are unrestricted.

MW2012 offers fun side activities like the billboards, has some hidden talents like the great cruise ability, Criterion did make efforts to fix some issues like the sounds of other players' cars online, and sure, if you're a completion hunter and a bit OCD you can play it for hours and days collecting all those stupid license plates online. But in the end it's not really great to me, and doesn't deserve its name at all.

COD games take two years to make. They rotate the dev every year. When the PS3 first came out the NFS games were yearly by the same dev team. Look what happened.... Now NFS rotates devs like COD does because EA learned it's impossible to make a good game in a year unless it's one of those mini PSN games. So NFS games now have a 2 or more year development cycle.

Remember never ever trust any source unless it's straight from the mouth of the dev or publisher. Gamespot, IGN, etc don't know jack until confirmed by the dev or publisher.

I have a feeling the game relies too much on virtual memory the PS3 lacks so badly. I've had several occasions when it froze after playing in open or private rooms for about 2 hours straight and being active in a PSN chat room the whole time to communicate with the room members. Those freezes always happened when I left the XMB chat and the screen went back to the game. And just yesterday I had a freeze that happened 2 or 3 times to me in the past weeks, where it would freeze when installing/changing an upgrade on a car. Specifically yesterday it was just after finishing a jump challenge at the old airport, and I spammed the upgrade button while jumping before to straighten out the car while in the air (fancy little exploit that prevents you from rolling over when flying really far) so it might have been caused by an overload of reapplied upgrades (although I just pressed the stock tyres button about 10 times).

The XMB causes all games to screech to a halt. It does that cause the PS3 wasn't designed to have the XMB open during a game. Plus both the PS3 & 360 can't handle these new games since they are so outdated its not funny.

All they need is a mini XMB with your online friends list and there would be a reduced issue with games freezing.
