I have a feeling the game relies too much on virtual memory the PS3 lacks so badly. I've had several occasions when it froze after playing in open or private rooms for about 2 hours straight and being active in a PSN chat room the whole time to communicate with the room members. Those freezes always happened when I left the XMB chat and the screen went back to the game. And just yesterday I had a freeze that happened 2 or 3 times to me in the past weeks, where it would freeze when installing/changing an upgrade on a car. Specifically yesterday it was just after finishing a jump challenge at the old airport, and I spammed the upgrade button while jumping before to straighten out the car while in the air (fancy little exploit that prevents you from rolling over when flying really far) so it might have been caused by an overload of reapplied upgrades (although I just pressed the stock tyres button about 10 times).

I've had trouble with cars nosing over on long jumps as well. Not sure if I should shout at you for using an exploit or use that myself.

Exploits are exploits & if EA or Sony was being a douche they could suspense/ban you for using it. Most jumps over 550 yards are probably cheated ones especially a pop up jump. (where the jump really kicks your car up)

Also mics always sucked on racing games but it's a racing game so why do you need a mic? In BP we talked with our cars & understand.

Airport jumps can easily get you a 550 yard+ jump without glitching.

Games like Most Wanted and BP are made for having conversations on the mic because you're not doing something competitive all the time. You can just chill out, drive around and have a laugh with your mates.

Venom, Veyron, Agera, Vette, etc all nose dive off the runway jump so I don't trust the near 600 yard jumps on my list yet. I found that if you can jump high for 550+ yards the car usually drills the ground.

Spoil-t

What I'm dealing with is that I cannot hear people talking on their mics unless I switch the sound effects right down, and even they're very quiet. Something's up :indiff:

This despite the fact you have a 569 yard jump off a set of air stairs or something in the DLC area.

I wonder if those cars weren't intentionally given their tendencies toward crash landings to encourage greater experimentation with car choice.

I read somewhere that using Powershot in midair will help straighten you out, is that true? And is it an exploit?

Use reinforced chassis to change the weight distribution of the car and that won't happen.

I don't think it works like that since the cars don't have that in game hence why the rear engine cars nose dive etc. The BMW's would fly straight since they ar 50/50.

That source is idiot. "They made last year's NFS Hot Pursuit" *facepalm*

Also, I TOLD YOU ALL CG AIN'T RELEASING A GAME THIS YEAR!! *dances around*

Use it yourself! 👍
Also, there are two far greater exploits to cheat your jump distance, which work at certain locations.

I experienced the same, both on my headphones and my regular sound system speakers. I have to turn music off and sound effects to 10% to understand what's being said, and the game volume still sometimes overlays it. :indiff:

That source is idiot.

ic. :P

I don't have any problems with hearing the chat well. I just turn up the chat volume on my headset so I can hear them.

A funny thing happened yesterday while I was on multiplayer. I was driving in my 4C when some dude started complaining that they were taking him down and I told him that he was bad.
He then directed his hate at me saying that I was the one who repeatedly took him down with a red Bugatti. I re-assured him I was just driving a 4C but still accused me of driving a Bugatti.
He left the game a few minutes afterwards.

Seriously, I don't really use the Bugatti anyways because it's a 2-ton turd that it is.

That probably happened because he never saw what car you were driving, and assumed you were using a Bugatti. Maybe, had you drove right up to him and showed him your 4C this could have been resolved easier.

Clearly someone was mistaken here, and it wasn't you (or me, I wasn't playing MW when this happened).

Meh, it's way more fun to use sleepers like the Focus ST and beat people that drive Veyrons and Ageras. Balancing FTW! :P

Guess you can tell I'm not taking this game serious anymore, got frustrated with its glitches, freezes and scumbag players too many times...

What really frustrates me :
When I park up at a meeting point next to the side like a car meeting and a fellow car lover parks next to me and then one of those idiots slams into the side...
I know this game is made for kids but man..

Why I always just beat the living hell out of everyone near me. Now if I actually know you I won't intentionally bumper rape you but you're just some random I'm sending your car to hell.

I know, right? I recently got back into NFS: MW. After my corruption, I decided to give the game another chance. My multiplayer got saved and the timesavers packs sorted singleplayer enough for me. Anyway, I went online to try to unlock the Charger R/T, and came away with this advice. Never. NEVER. NEVER. Park your car anywhere. Because someone WILL come along and repeatedly take you down. I know paints are unlocked by takedowns, but still... In fact, scratch that. If you don't like being taken down, just stay away from all players FULL STOP.

 This has to be the best way to evade the cops ever.

I was racing along in the Trans-Am with cops in pursuit. Heading towards a roadblock, I failed to notice an AI traffic car in front of me. Crashing into it, my car wrecked, and I rolled over the rooves of the cop cars in the roadblock to land on my wheels on the other side, so that I could then drive away.

I haz mad skillz.

I deliberately crashed into a traffic car so I could plough it through the roadblock once.
Also, I've beaten all my friends' scores on every Drift Attack event.

Thought I'd ask this but: What has been your favourite car each from the Main Game, Ultimate Speed, Terminal Velocity, Movie Legends and NFS Heroes Packs?

My picks:

Main Game: Pagani Huayra
Ultimate Speed: Pagani Zonda R
Terminal Velocity: Porsche 918 Spyder
Movie Legends: Aston Martin DB5
NFS Heroes: Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)

Got two problems (or benefits, depending on which way you look at them :P).

When I'm playing during Speedlists, I normally get a lot more points than the others racing. I think it might still be Double SP, but that should have ended long ago. Could it be completing challenges or would it be glitched?

Also, once in a while my nitrous seems to recharge really quickly - so much so that I hold down X and it's infinite.

EDIT: I've got 'SPx2' on my licence plate, so I know I've got Double SP. But I've played over 7 hours

For me I just plough through roadblocks at full speed, even the SWAT ones. If you've got heaps of cops on your tail they will crash into you and usually that's enough to push you through :P

The points may be glitched. I often see players getting 2x as many points as everyone else even when they are not doing particularly well and they don't have the 2x bonus. What happens is your points from the previous speedlist didn't get reset, so you got a headstart on everyone else.

The infinite nitro happens when you get left behind in races. It's the online rubber band effect basically. I always use powershot, but as soon as I crash and drop back I just switch to burn and hold the X button. Even if you caught up to the leaders, if you're still holding the button you can get some extra seconds of nitrous. Use it to your advantage 👍

The double SP often doesn't run out as it should. I remember mine stayed for quite a few days even though I played a lot. I bet it's an Autolog syncing problem (as usual). Just make good use of it while it's there :P

I think the x2 is broken since I played a good 24 hours on it with x2 bonus. The online speedpoints can be linked to level too. I know I was like 30-40 levels ahead of one of my friends who had the game since release and was gaining more than me.

As for deciding on a favourite car, I don't have any of the overpriced DLCs but my favourite car from the main game would be the Nissan GT-R. I love a lot of the main game cars though, and I constantly switch cars in multiplayer. The everyday cars are to hoon about or have a cruise in, and they mostly sound great. The sports cars for usual race driving, and I cruise the ones I like around town too. The big luxury cars for cruising. The hypercars/high end exotics to set billboard/speedtrap records or to mindlessy bash people on multiplayer. The muscle cars for cruising. Did I mention I like to cruise? :P
I wouldn't have expected to get such enjoyment of the pretty few cars.

Actually, while I'm at it, here's another EA/CG bash rant comment. I used to enjoy the SLS AMG and Focus RS500 a lot, and their sounds were awesome up to the last update. The SLS got a BOV noise and the Focus got a worse, generated sound without turbo BOV, really CG?
I wouldn't even mind to pretend my SLS is a TwinTurbo charged tuned one, but the turbo BOV on it is taken from little inline 4/5 cylinder cars like the Focus/A1/4C Concept so it sounds not just modified but rather completely wrong.
