Does anyone know if there will be a Private Loby feature? I always wanted to play in an open world without all these lunatics wrecking you, and blurting out strong profanity for no reason. I just want to chill with my resectable friends, please Criterion, please. It would also be nice if Criterion added twisty mountain roads like in Burnout Paradise. Because I loved sliding through there, carelessly, with ease and going as fast as possible. Ahhhhhh memories....... :turns on PS3:

There will probably be an "invite only" option like BP.
What are the Online Session Modes?
Friends Game- This is a private game that is set up so that the Host can choose to run Custom or Default Speed lists. Friend Games can be toggled between two states: invite-only and friends joinable.

Public Game- This is run by a Playlist Director which picked Speed lists for the players. After a 5 event Speed list, players get a three minute intermissions to free drive, get collectibles, and take each other down. After the intermission, the Playlist Director sets a new Speed list.

Perhaps the 123/100 cars comment refers to the number of jackspots with slower cars having more. If there are really more then 100 cars though, wow...

Also, best starter car(s) ever. Though HP's Boxster Spyder was pretty awesome as well.

I've a feeling the 7 extra multiplayer cars may be drivable police vehicles and the Hummer and that the Vita's multiplayer lacks the police cars.

(Or the extras are any car slower than the 4C, which would not be ideal.)

Size of the map looks about right considering the number of off-road jumps and routes.

Eurogamer does mention that the framerate can dip occasionally when too many things happen on the X360. Considering that CG is a master of cross-platform equality, the PS3 may suffer from this as well. Game looks really good though.

As NFS (more or less) started this generation with a MW, it seems kinda fitting that its swan song is another MW. (If the next-gen NFS rumours involving EA Gothenburg are true.)

It's more than likely that they're only jackspots, two or more for each car.

Well, as long as it's not as bad as the PS2 version of Most Wanted, I'll be fine. Heat level 6 could be a pain in the ass with massive amount of framerate drops.

@ new footage.

Host doesn't decide events, everyone is a guest at a party and the host is a computer dishing out random events.... I think I'm going to enjoy single player more than multiplayer.

You really don't understand "Party" games. BP was a party game & so will MW2. The online is built so you can just chill & cruise with friends while doing random stupid stuff. If you play with randoms only then it might get a little boring but have at least one friend along & you can play for hours.

I'm not big on party games really...

I'll be waiting for TT competitions.

Pretty much the same opinion here. I'll play MP for challenges and thats it I imagine. I would like to finish all the challenges in MW, I wonder what the reward for that will be this time around.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted Now Supports PS Move, PS Move Racing Wheel and Kinect

Gamers Xtreme
Criterion Games is prepping up the release for their highly-anticipated reboot of Need for Speed: Most Wanted and it seems the console versions are getting a little extra features. According to the latest box art revealed for the game, the PS3 version will have PS Move support, as well as support from the PS Move Racing Wheel that’s slated to release alongside LittleBigPlanet Karting. The Xbox 360 version appears to have Kinect integration as well. Aside from taking a photo of yourself, not much is known as to how it will affect the gameplay with the Kinect.

AH! i watched a little of the first vid, looks beautiful! It that PC footage?
Should i watch the others, will it spoil it? Im always torn, should i just wait and be surprised when I have my copy!

EDIT: WOW thats PS3 footage! I swear it was PC, amazing!!!
I'm sorry to disappoint you but the 2 gameplays that I posted yesterday about single player and mutliplayer were from a PC using a Xbox 360 controller.

But the gramTV footage is from the PS3 version. You'll see the triangle button appearing when he's switching cars. It looks good nonetheless.

Yes I knew about that one but I am talking about the other 2 videos that I posted several hours after that.

I checked my preorder at Gamestop, it says
"Early Access for Multiplayer"
...so what does that mean???

and why must they torture us with PC footage! : )
What system are most of you getting it for?

Let me explain it to you: in single player you just have to find cars and play races to unlock their respective upgrades, on multiplayer that's different . On multiplayer you unlock upgrades, etc so that "Early Access for Multiplayer" means that you will be able to use the car that was advertised right from the start (I searched the game for PS3 on Gamestop and in this case it's the Caterhamn Superlight R3500 with a few upgrades already).

Ah, sorry, my bad.

Damn these guys are terrible drivers lol, skip to 3:03 for gameplay footage.
Awful driving, as mentioned. But nice to see the lightweight cars in action against each other.

Wish Sony would've gotten EA on board with the Cross-Buy gimmick, seems like a missed opportunity. Chances of my buying the PSV version are pretty slim unless I can get it really cheap and even then it's something I'll probably take time to consider since I would have played the console version to death at that point.

I can see that this game will be very long both in single-player and multiplayer. In single player you have 41 cars (not including the 10 most wanted cars), to get Standard Upgrades you need to earn 5 Gold/Silver medals in the 5 events tied to each car and then you have the Pro versions of mods which are unlocked by completing related milestone requirements with the Standard mods equipped.

In multiplayer you have 48 cars (Vita has 42 cars), it's the same pattern as single-player but in this one you have 3 types of upgrades.
The first type of upgrades are acquired by completing certain driving tests/milestones (It can be something like: Mileage- Drive a specific car “X” amount of miles to unlock Basic Mods Unlocks; Non Car Specific- Win “X” amount of Events of accumulate “X” amount of Air Time; etc.).

The second type of upgrades you have to perform certain actions with specific Mods attached to your car and sometimes you will need to perform these actions multiple times in order to get these unlocks.

The third and final type of upgrades is the Pro mods which as the second type of upgrades require you to perform specific actions while having specific Mods attached to your car. The most important part of this Pro mods is that these are not car specific so when you unlock a Pro Mod, you can apply it to any car.
