I'd also rather have the new Viper for free than the Scion and I mostly look with envy at a lot of the cars they included, either as DLC or the initial car list.

This should be the case.

That could be considered unfortunate, disappointing or frustrating but that's just how it is, and constantly showing what Forza's got and GT doesn't have, won't 'awake' PD since they (perhaps stubbornly) carry on doing things their own way regardless.

So you are questioning the validity of this forum and beyond.

So yes, Forza-players get a free Viper I can't drive whilst GT-players get a free Scion I can drive, that's the situation I put myself in by buying GT5

So yes, you would rather enjoy a scion over a Viper. I wish you the best of luck.

First of all thanks for an awesome game, love Gran Turismo since I first bought gt3, love the realism and spiirit of racing enbodied for our GT family. But, heres an idea, how about the cars we are most into, such as GT 1,2,3 & 4 cars, like the M3 RC or Rm, Z4, AMG RC or RM, Mustang, SLS, MclarenMP4,Audi R8, Lambo GT1, ferrari 458, 430, Aston Martin Vantage, Volvo S60, 370z, old-school Datsun RC anyone? or even the Mini RC or RM; Even just the possibility of having RM options for most famous Racing sports cars; GT RC's are so important & we still lack so much. come on Kaz you race with these cars every year; Options, Options, Options,,oh yah tracks?? well we're at it? hehe.. Lil Disapionting.. especially for us who put on leagues, and weekly race events, Time to fill in the gaps, of our all so important racing roots cars, & fabric, not to mention enthusiasm... Reguardless, GT is my home, you'll never see me on Forza, even if they do have the ALMS cars,,SUX,,want those cars more than anything.. dont let them out do us Kaz, We dont want Forza signs on our Le Mans,,Gran-Turismo is & always will be the Real-Deal

What on this earth are you smoking? I can make hardly any sense of any of that.. Except for the first bit.. I agree with that..

Just to give a sense of how incompetent Polyphony are, all the cars that are in Forza Motorsport's DLC's and are not in GT5 are most likely to be exclusively licensed to Turn10 and/or sublicensed from EA. I know for fact that the R18 and other LMP cars are exclusive to Turn10 which can sublicense to other games (I have a very good source on this in particular), common sense tells you that they won't give anything to PD, just like how EA have with Porsche, same possibly goes for the Huayra and Viper.

If PD were on top of their game they would have been at Le Mans proactively photographing cars and recording sounds for future DLC or games, but no, there was no PD or GT presence at the track, other than the Academy Graduates, all of GT's branding at the track has also been replaced by Forza branding, so Forza may have sealed full exclusivity for La Sarthe - basically meaning that La Sarthe will possibly not be in GT6, probably why Sonoma/Infineon is no longer in the game, nor does any intention to introduce it.

We must also remember that the DLC we are getting, are also from a predetermined back-log/schedule, so we shouldn't really be daring or wishing anything special.

I'd love to see it because after the Porsche debacle they always said they did not agree with exclusive licenses, it's bad for gamers.

I think he might be a familiar and recurring phenomenon, something to do with a Japanese city and a certain driving style involving a lot of oversteer given the behaviour he's displaying and the obvious way to spot this.
Replying with logic is therefor a futile pursuit.

I´ll pass on this one....not interested in the track
Same here, especially if it's just GT4 port.
Watched some comparsion video and i'm not sure about that though. Still, it's not worth my 5 bucks/euros/whatever.

Open your eyes dude Its obvious gt is driving sim and nothing more...

Well they obviously didn't start from scratch whatever they did which is why the price is too high. When Turn 10 added an old track as DLC (Road America) they charged 100MS points, $1.25/€1.20/£0.86.

The usual flame wars over DLC/Updates don't seem to have changed!!

Anyway, on a more relevant note the main section about the DLC on the page may have been deleted but a small detail was missed in the description for the 'complete pack' (all of the first DLC packs): Does not include "Car Pack 2", "3 Car Pack", "Pack Test speed", "'12 Scion FR-S" or "Twin Ring Motegi Package"

You lot sound like generals worried about losing a war or something. I'm sure you can trade your ps3+gt5 for an xbox360+fm4 for little to no investment. The good thing about being a consumer is the ability to jump ship at any time. There's no point in losing sleep over some other game being better than the one you got since you can just walk to the store and get it.

I had to laugh at this contradiction. To jump ship is to shirk one's responsibilities, to desert one's post, to go AWOL - punishable by court martial, should you be caught. So, it's not jumping ship, it's not even changing "allegiance" - it's simply changing your mind.

You're right, though. It saddens me that humanity has to stoop to "them and us" in almost everything it does.

But money should not be a problem if you are privileged, I certainly do not find the price of the dlc a problem.

Is that an argument or something more to agree on?

The latter. :)

All this hype over a small leak, just the same as the Australian leak about bathurst a few months ago and nothing happened then.
I will wait till it reaches the plastation store. Then and only then will I beieve it.

That's hardly the same, that was some PD employees at the track taking photos. This was posted on the official Gran Turismo website for Italian language alongside all of the other DLC. It's pretty obvious they just listed it too early.

€5 is not a lot of money, no, but it is in relation to the full game and the cost of similar items in the past. I mean if for example you could afford a £300,000 Ferrari you're likely to be quite wealthy, does that mean you'd pay £10,000 for cup holders? It's all relative.

.

It was said to be for GT6.. By the people scanning the track... So unless GT6 came out a few months ago, of course nothing happened.

errrrm I already own a 360 and Forza 4 but I would like to see some new cars in GT5 that aren't already in the game

This is about to turn into a gt5 forza flame war ....Its like sti drivers (GT PLAERES) for some reason they feel the need to be rude to us evo drivers (FORZA AND GT PLAYER)

This FR-S 🤬 was not a dream? *_*

I apologise to all GTP members on this forum, I may go on an angry rampage now...
let's hope it stays within the meme thread :P

The fact it's free isn't really important. The problem is that it's being added to the premium roster as a new car, boosting the numbers. When they start advertising GT6 and it's 500 premium cars or whatever they won't have a footnote that says x number of cars are actually very similar and only 450 are unique models, will they?

And you have completely missed my point, to which I was only using the Scion as an example. I don't know if your trying to get me and others to despise and hate GT5 like everyone else, but I get it already: You aren't getting your shiny brand new cars like the other game is getting. How many times do you really have to shove that in my face?

Them and us. Ingroup and outgroup. Basically the bad parts of tribalism, for which we should have no need anymore.

Gran Turismo isn't Forza (and vice versa), neither should really be trying to compete with the details of the other, otherwise they'd just merge into the same thing.
Sure, it might relieve some of the "tribalism", but we'd lose out on variety - people should just know better.

I agree, its quite blatant that people like analog try their best to be grateful and oblivious to such an inferior car line up. Almost like a new form of political correctness has been establish without my knowing.

I can see a silver lining considering it's free and when you accept it's indeed another 'duplicate' probably introduced at the behest of Toyota.
First of, it introduces a new brand for the first time which might mean a new dealership being added which has a broader implication than just one new car.
Secondly, it's apparantly LHD which if you use cockpit view makes the experience significantly different than the RHD FT-86.
Then there are other, slightly trivial perhaps, advantages if it introduces new colours and has differently styled bodykit/spoiler options (which might be unlikely though).
And finally, it's most likely labelled a US car so it's eligible for Muscle Car events. :D

There you go, thats thinking positive right there 👍

So that we avoid flame lets just say its something to agree on.. the games more of a driving sim than a race sim

Kool, agree on; however, all I see is racing tracks, racing cars, racing street cars; Yes, driving simulator, but on the complete platform of racing, I dont see any interstate driving on GT , so in fact, not saying my view is correct, we are human, but, might want to re-evaluate your Opinion, or view.. As an overview I think racing sim took the cake....

Its always the same damn people crying, complaining, and trying to parade on other people joyfulness. I am excited about the Free and paid content, and If we actually get a new dealer in the NCD I would be extremely happy. Just Ignore the negative people.
