First off, complaining about something you're getting for free and saying it should be something else makes you sound like a spoiled child, so yes. And second, the car and track are 2 different bundles. The car being free, and the track not. Don't like the car? Don't get it. I shouldn't have to repeat that so many times.

First off if I want to complain it is my right. If I'm not happy with Kaz not actually listening to fans and giving us what we (sorry I) want so be it.

Calling someone a spoiled child because you disagree with what the person wants or don't want is childish. So if you can not carry dialogue without your own love for Kaz and PD getting in the way than don't.

And no you don't have to keep repeating yourself please.

Will I get the car? NO.

Hey like I said, bring on the track.

I think those people need to jump off the judgmental bandwagon and either complain or give their praise about the new DLC. :)

Personally, when I get to my laptop the complaints will flow thick and fast :P

I quite like this DLC. 4 tracks, albeit variations of the same one, but it at least gives a new place to test out our skills, rather than just cars. And the FRS, despite being European and not being interested in it at all, is at least something to be added.

And as was predicted that people would moan that DLC wouldn't come, and when it did, they didn't like it, they clearly forgot something.

Same here, especially if it's just GT4 port.
Watched some comparsion video and i'm not sure about that though. Still, it's not worth my 5 bucks/euros/whatever.

The question really is; how does GT5 Motwgi compare to iRacing Motegi???

Its always the same damn people crying, complaining, and trying to parade on other people joyfulness. I am excited about the Free and paid content, and If we actually get a new dealer in the NCD I would be extremely happy. Just Ignore the negative people.

👍

I'm disappointed that when new things show up, we can't have proper discussions about them. It always leads to bickering back and forth about how crappy this is, or how crappy that is, or this game is better, or that game is better, etc, etc.

I would like to complain about the praise ... or praise the complaints... nevermind I forgot...

You know guys, the more you tolerate duplicates the more duplicates will be added to the game. Would you want to have another Impreza added or some cars from the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans?

And you know there are more games that fix that problem, right?

I'm sorry but that is just the silliest claim I've ever seen, not made better by the fact you don't work at PD so therefore don't have much to back that up. This game doesn't have that 2013 Dodge Viper? Ok then, Forza here I come. No GT3 cars other then the Audi R8 LMS? Fine, Rfactor it is (not NFS for obvious reasons). Again, you aren't stuck with GT5, you do have options.

It's got nothing to do with tolerating, especially when it's offered for free so not downloading it won't have any consequences whatsoever.

I'd love to have cars from the 2012 Le Mans race, how do you propose we organize this happening, got a strategy or plan which'll persuade PD?

You lot sound like generals worried about losing a war or something. I'm sure you can trade your ps3+gt5 for an xbox360+fm4 for little to no investment. The good thing about being a consumer is the ability to jump ship at any time. There's no point in losing sleep over some other game being better than the one you got since you can just walk to the store and get it.

The only problem with this is that some, if not most of us, have been with GT for quite some time and it bothers us that our favorite franchise isn't getting cars that are more relevant than a simple re-badged car. Yea, it is free, but really why wouldn't it be? It is a basic RE SKIN for them to produce. A quick and easy (lazy if you will) way to kick out a car without much effort.

I speak for myself, but I imagine a lot agree on here that we are just getting frustrated that Turn 10 is popping out beautiful yet awesome cars at an alarming rate (monthly), while us loyal customers to the GT franchise keep dealing with lackluster and sparse car DLC. I know an easy option rather than DEALING with it would be to jump ship, but to many, GT holds a special place in us that could never make our loyalty falter.

It really hurts to be honest, because GT is the only thing I ever supported through my years of playing racing games, but I really think PD needs to open its eyes to the competition and realize that they need to step it up in quite a few key areas as far as I'm concerned. Just my two cents.

Do you honestly think endlessly winging and complaining will encourage PD to add new content to the game? Constructive criticism is a good form of feedback and there is a fair chance of it being noticed or possibly even responded to if it is realistic. But the way in which your post is worded suggests that you think PD give us duplicates with the simple reason of seeing how much it will annoy its fanbase. :ouch:

Its also worth noticing that is is Kaz's/PD's game, the fans/players are obviously an influence in how it is developed but PD is bound to have their own plans for DLC and also future products.

And as for the "With PD's resources I could do much better" comments by some people, don't it be pathetic, and I also think it is extremely disrespectful to Kaz and the other PD employees to discredit their talents in such a way. In fact I'd go as far to say I wouldn't be too surprised if Kaz turned round and said "ok, if GT is as awful as you say it is how about I close down PD and you can all go and play all of these 'vastly superior games' you constantly speak of" :grumpy:

Yes, but not everybody has $200-$300 to spend on a new console, as well as another $30.00-$60.00 to buy the game. That means that it's pretty much GT or NFS Shift.

The reason I said this was how people can tolerate duplicates. Why? Because, "it's free"? I find it unacceptable to have the same cars added over and over again, just with different names and another manufacturer's logo stamped on the hood. Almost all of us are sick of it, and if we use constructive criticism against PD's decision to add duplicates they are more likely to add new cars.

As I said, would you prefer a Subaru Impreza duplicate or the Nissan Deltawing? An old car that is already in the game or a new car?

As someone who owns all 3 consoles I can fully sympathise with your predicament.

Assuming you will be upgrading to next gen though, when you have the available funds, just jump ship at that point.

I won't be owning all 3 next gen myself, so I'll go with the one that communicates with its fans and gives feedback and can supply the high demand for innovation.

Wonder who that will be. 8^)

Thanks for Motegi, I wanted that but why on earth did they decide to include the Scion FR-S over a Subaru BRZ? The first only appeals to American customers while the latter comes from a global manufacturer. In fact, Subaru is the brain behind that car, yet Toyota and Scion takes all the credit in the virtual world.

Good Christ, will you all stop saying "jump ship"!
Nobody is contractually obliged to keep playing GT.
It is not treasonous to "give up" on GT and go and play other games instead.
You are not "jumping ship", you are simply "playing something else".
This isn't football, you can support more than one team.

Lobby Sony to distribute Forza for the Playstation, and Gran Turismo for the XBox. No more indirect competition. No more controlling market share by the console. Put the two head to head.

If the market wants the best racing/driving simulator, this would birth it.

I was about to right a very long reply but you have pretty much described how I feel about the current state of the GT series.

Gran Turismo was my first ever game for the original Playstation and i've been hooked ever since and even tho it's still my most played/favourite series of all time I can't help but feel a little bit let down by certain things in GT5.

I will never jump ship, I have played Forza and it's good but in my opinion it just isn't nowhere near as good as GT is, so I will always stick with the GT series but it does seem that PD is falling behind in the development of the series compared to turn 10, especially when it comes to DLC.

That simply won't happen because both companies need these games to remain exclusives for the sole purpose of shifting consoles, if both are multi-platform it would probably lead to more combined sales of both games, but it would also mean people aren't buying a certain console 'automatically' (for the purpose of being able to play a certain game) anymore but go for the cheapest/best value option.

Just to give a sense of how incompetent Polyphony are, all the cars that are in Forza Motorsport's DLC's and are not in GT5 are most likely to be exclusively licensed to Turn10 and/or sublicensed from EA. I know for fact that the R18 and other LMP cars are exclusive to Turn10 which can sublicense to other games (I have a very good source on this in particular), common sense tells you that they won't give anything to PD, just like how EA have with Porsche, same possibly goes for the Huayra and Viper.

If PD were on top of their game they would have been at Le Mans proactively photographing cars and recording sounds for future DLC or games, but no, there was no PD or GT presence at the track, other than the Academy Graduates, all of GT's branding at the track has also been replaced by Forza branding, so Forza may have sealed full exclusivity for La Sarthe - basically meaning that La Sarthe will possibly not be in GT6, probably why Sonoma/Infineon is no longer in the game, nor does any intention to introduce it.

We must also remember that the DLC we are getting, are also from a predetermined back-log/schedule, so we shouldn't really be daring or wishing anything special.

Re: Forza @ Le Mans.

That's pure speculation- the last 2 to 3 years it was GT that had its names at Tetre Rouge and the first chicane. Sony/PD needed the publicity leading to the release of GT5. That included the investment into sponsoring Peugeot in the 2010/2011 season. Prior to GT/Playstation sponsorship, Team Peugeot was sponsored by Xbox (2007-2009) although it was nowhere as considerable as the GT/Playstation promo in 2010/2011.

This year it was obviously Forza that needed the exposure at a major event like Le Mans. PD on the other hand has its share via GT Academy and the Nurburgring 24 hour. Having "Gran Turismo" on every windshields isn't cheap.

Re: T10 alleged exclusive right to the R18.

GT via Sony/Playstation has been sponsoring Audi racing team for the last few years. At this year's Nurburgring 24 the #2 Audi Sport Team Phoenix w/ Fassler (yes, the guy who Le Mans the last two years), Frank Stippler (Audi Factory driver 2004-2006 DTM) etc. is sponsored by Playstation Vita. Prior to that is Playstation sponsored #17 (2011), #100 (2010), #97 (2009) all Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline (w/ Marco Werner to Lucas Luhr). I find it hard to believe that all this support will not give GT the rights to any of Audi's race cars.

Le Mans from 2008 and 2009 (first chicanes- in recent years , prior to 2010 there was no sponsor banner at Tertre Rouge):

Where did I suggest the only thing to do was buy a console and Forza? Better yet, who says you have to "buy" that console? :sly:

Just for the sake of further trolling EA, lets not count NFS :P

I'm not all that concerned about duplicates (like I was before with GT4) specifically because I have other sims that have the cars I want. Forza has the Audi R18 I want, rFactor has the DTM cars and FIA GT1 cars we didn't get (along with a crapload of Supercars I wasn't aware of previously). I've never had one go-to game for everything like everyone seems to want, I pretty play them all (assuming I can afford them).

Noticed I also brought a PC game and most notibly, one that doesn't require a high end PC to play as my mediocore Laptop has demonstrated.

FYI regarding the "Sponsorship" at Le Mans, its not that. Its buying up advert space, thats all it is. GT had advert space thanks to SCEE, now Forza had it thanks to whoever the hell handles Microsoft's operations in Europe. Also, the exclusivity claim is BS. There is no such thing as Exclusive licensing of a track because by that logic, there are six tracks that shouldn't be in GT. Microsoft only hold exclusive licensing for Ferrari, chances are Viper is only a "Timed" Exclusive.

Then there is my T500, G25, Fanatec GT3rs, and DFP not working with the "other console" because Microsoft is a vile company. My loathing was cemented when I bought my DFP for GT4 and it wouldn't work on my neighbor's CrapBoX.

It isn't in a company's best interest to flush money down the toilet for advertising when there is nothing in particular to advertise. Forza just made a game announcement barely two weeks before the race and Forza 4 didn't come out that long ago. All Microsoft advertising at Le Mans means is that Microsoft felt it necessary to spend more money to advertise when they have games in the pipeline and Sony did not. It doesn't mean anything in regards to content of future games; and it certainly doesn't mean anything in regards to competence when Sony probably didn't pay a dime and GT Academy was still mentioned (frequently) in every broadcast that I watched while the race was going.

In the time that they were fixing the track after Davidson's crash alone I know it was mentioned several times.
