Downloaded my FR-S last night. Added a sport filter, sport cat, semi-racing suspension with a few tweaks. Oil change and some wheels and I was off to Tsukuba to test it out. 10 laps from cockpit view with no HUD = brilliant. :)

Since this thread is HUGE I am going to just ask.

Does anybody know if Motegi is open to all of your PSN accounts like they did with spa? I've got 5 bucks on the primary account psn store and I'd like to use this on my other psn.

Yes, like SSRX, it is not locked to one account.

Not sure if anyone picked up on this but the Speedway has the SAFER walls, and the modeling was completed after IndyCar's race last year. After the earthquake they did not use the oval, they used the road course instead, also instead of using the main pit lane, they actually used the pit box from the speedway and linked them over to the road course for the IndyCar's. If you closely at the exit of pit lane for the speedway you can see the white lines that are carrying over from the road course. You can see the exit of pit lane somewhere about middle of the speedways pit lane. So how long was it since the finish of that race to its release in GT5.

I need to partially redact my statement about the pit lane being used on both courses. On the super speedway you see the lines for pit lane entrance, but when you are on the road course the extension to the speedway pit lane is not there. The exit is right at turn 1 tho.

Attention to detail. 👍

First thing I noticed when I did my first laps on it, thought that was a nice touch.

One thing I also noticed was that unlike in GT4, the track has some bumps to it, about middle of the corner in Turn 1&2 and a little pne coming out of 3&4

I'll be turning some laps on the oval tonight. Only got a few laps around the road course in a modified FR-S after midnight last night.

I know how everyone online just likes to cry and moan and complain about everything there is to complain about. So I understand why people complain about this new DLC.......they do it just to complain. But I'm not a person who does that, and I have to say, this track pack is amazing for $5 USD.

When it was announced this was going to be the DLC everyone just said "oh $5 for a uprez'd port from GT4". After spending a couple days with the DLC That's BS. Just the Oval alone is a complete reworking. This oval before this DLC was just a generic oval with no real character or feel. This track has character now. You can feel the bumps, you can feel the track fighting you. And the road course feels more real now as well. I think basically getting 4 new tracks, with this much character, for $5 is an absolute steal.

Great value IMO.

100% true my friend. Just bought the pack and I'm really happy with it. And unfortunatelly it's how some people are these days:

4 variations of an awesome track for $5 (1.25 each)...

Then they found 1 or 2 bad textures: OMG, PD is crap, track is crap, GT5 is crap.

Even if they were GT4 quality, $5 is cheap for the ammount of fun I'll have on those.

Just my 2cents...

Then you have the people that just try their best to validate their purchase. Like those that claim it's 4 variations and they're happy to pay 1.25 each for them, despite three of them being 95% the same.

Completely agree with you; Very well said.

The REAL problem is I spent all of my PSN money literally the day before TRM was announced. I can look at the pictures...:guilty:

Its not 5 bucks everywhere

Finally fixed my YLOD ps3 in time for Motegi and I'm loving the track already. I had some good races online last night thanks to the many passing opportunities on the full course. Victory corner is one of my favorite parts of the track:tup:

FRS is cool too but I wish it was the BRZ because of my subaru bias. Oh well, I might end up test driving a real FRS today.

I finally got the chance to try the DLC today. The inclusion of both Motegi and Scion FR-S is great and I really think the track adds great value for the money. Four completely different layouts is almost as good as four new tracks and it's good to be back at Motegi. I'll most likely stick with my Toyota GT 86 until we get a Subaru BRZ (which I hope :D) but they are not just a copy paste job, these cars look different enough to justify having all three in the game.

In fact, I don't understand how some people consider the Scion FR-S to be a worthless addition and we even got it for free. Imagine that someone offered you a free meal of chicken one day and after a few months that very same person offered you another free meal of chicken. Would it be fair to blame the lack of variety in the two meals or would you praise the generosity? Talk about being spoiled.

Not a good analogy at all. A second plate of food has value in any circumstances. That is not what pd have done with the Scion.

Better would be a secret "bonus track" on a music album, which they tell you about after 2 months as though it's something cool, and which is exactly the same as the first track of the album in all but name and maybe for the first 2 seconds you hear a new beep noise. :-)

Seriously, though, I don't care one way or the other about the car. It's no big annoyance, but equally, I don't have a clue why anybody is the slightest bit excited or more than fractionally grateful for it.

I'm excited because it's left hand drive and it doesn't have the stupid red steering wheel. And it's a blast to drive. You should try it.

Why the eye roll? Ok, three of them are not completely different but you get the point.

I suppose it's nowhere near being as good as 4 different tracks, so we shouldn't act like it is. Tiny actual changes between variations is not an unusual thing, though. Cape ring simply cuts the course short in different ways and reverses direction. Suzuka cuts short after the esses. SSR5 is cut short in a similar way.

Courses getting cut up is just a fact of life, but in the end you have to judge what you're actually getting for yourself. Presenting variations as different circuits is false (i don't feel that that is what pd have done, but people do seem to feel that they have, perhaps because some people have acted like they are different circuits), unless it's Nurburgring-scale differences, with two distinct circuits.
