I haven't gotten round to the time trials yet, but theres plenty to talk about on the drift trials. I'm very confused, to be honest...why is one event on a rally stage? It's not the easiest either, but not as horendous as the Autumn Ring trial. PD of course had to use the loathesome 'loop' section of the track, which I cannot enter, drift or exit. And the points system as usual decided that a crap angle in an M3 (which can't change angle fast enough) earns more points than a near-perfect and near 90-degree slide o.o

Just golded Autumn Ring with the Viper ACR and the Toscane with the premium Mustang. Now doing the time trials.

Damn I didn't notice these before shutting my PS3 off and "going to sleep" because first day of school is tomorrow....errrr, today.

Oh well. I'll do it later.

I love how the power limiter is being abused to the max on the time trials. Pug 908s with 345bhp? Lame.

That's because there's always gonna be elitist 🤬 who have to be the best on the scoreboard through cheap tactics...

Anyone tried rally cars on toscana drift? 4wd cars.

I used my snow setup Impreza RM :D it can slide anything

Both drift trials are epic fun imo, I love the first section of the autumn ring one!

The people who resort to the power limiter in time travels, as well as online, needs to find another game. Sick of all these cheaters!

Hate to admit it, but i'm rubbish at drifting. Struggled with the Autumn Ring drift event, did it eventually. Guess it would help if I got myself a proper setup for a decent car. :)

For me, i had better results with the ACR Viper, tuned to drift, at 1000hp. Did a 10,4xx pts.

I'm going to practise tomorrow, will be looking in the tuning forum for some guidance. At the very least, I got gold, hate not golding something. 👍

Hmm, engine power limiter is not cheating. It might not be ethical, but per the rules of the Time Trial challenge, it's perfectly legal.

The only rules are HP, weight, tires and any car that can meet the specs, can run. I detuned my 458 Italia to quickly run the Fuji one. Does that make me a cheater? I originally placed 36th (on Sports Hards because I forgot to put Meds on, lol) at around 11:35PM EST. I'm sure I'm around 25,000 by now. ;)

Since the TT is not setup to say which car can/should be used, then all we have to go by is the specs they allow. Of course, in that case, people are going to detune their fastest cars, but isn't that really the point of the TT, to get around the track as fast as possible using the HP, weight, and tire limits?

I think it is and have no issue with any car being used as long as it meets the limits and is run clean with no shortcuts or groundhogging™.

When people are using a car that has almost twice the power of the regulations, then yes. That is cheating.

The Power Limiter is basically just the game telling you it's ok to cheat. Look at the leaderboards. Last I checked, only 2 people of the 256 people on the board, were using a car that fit the regulations.

I can understand using the Power Limiter if you're a few BHP above the limit. But no one should be able to decrease the power by more than 2%.

Since the NASCAR was so easy, I'm going to go with something a bit less crazy than most for the time trials. Renault sport clio will do it, just 1 sec to find. Maybe I'll have a bash at the leader board when it's done. 908 on 50% power, eh?

As for the power limiter, have you seen how it flattens the torque curve at the top of the rev range? Of course it's a massive advantage!

As I said above, the TT is based on getting around Fuji as fast as possible using any car that can be made to fall under the spec requirements. In this case, it is within the rules.

Sure, we can play semantics and say downgrading a supercar shouldn't be allowed, but by definition, it is allowed.

So, again, it's not cheating, it's exploiting.

Those that get mad at this sort of thing crack me up. Set your time, get your money and XP and move on. 👍

Lol I agree, but I figured I'd try to challenge myself first

Sorry, forgot to quote in my above post. That wasn't directed towards you. ;)

I agree with a challenge as well. I always grab the Gold first, then go back and challenge myself with Seasonals, too. 👍

Completed the drift and rally TT in Peugeut 205 (self built rally slide all around car) and the Fuji TT in Viper GTS-R Team Oreca #51 👎 , need to find a better (non race car) to complete it.

Former GT5 Proloque WRS qualifier used to be RX-7 Spirit R Type A at Fuji F , so I'm going to try and gold this with stock one on S2's

I might as well post in this thread too. For those of you who don't do the detuning crap and want a real challenge for the gold on Fuji, here is my suggestion:

Buy a brand new Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) '08. NO oil change, no other tuning. Equip it with sports medium tires and turn off the traction control. Good luck!

I spent some 90 minutes trying to gold the Fuji time trial. In the end, I managed a time of 1:55.942. So I thought I would challenge those of you who like to make things competitive to try and beat the gold time in the same car that I used.

Thanks! Will try this tonight for sure!

At the risk of angering those that find using the 908 cheap, I have a question about tuning it for the Fuji TT: I have de-tuned the car as much as I can, and still have 350 hp. How do I get it down to 345? I hope the answer isn't "buy another one and don't get an oil change."

Cheers :)

Remove the stage 3 turbo ;)
