New GT-R Seasonal Time Trial

I downloaded the first one, at this moment, and jeeez he's around 30kph faster at the start/finish line than me. I tried to go reverse at the beginning for a little time and then get back good way. Oh surprise I passed start line at almost the same speed (255kph) than the ghost lap.

Well that was the most terrible thing I have ever attempted...1:44 and some milliseconds I really couldn't give less of a 🤬 about. The track was awful, had really poor braking zones and camber, and why does such an apparently amazing fap fap fap omg fanboi car handle so DREADFUL? Understeer, braking oversteer, no acceleration at all...flah, I'm gonna go fail to enjoy my not-at-all-special GT-R. Woo.

:D R35 haters…

UNITE!!!

Dreadful thing, it is.

Just not driving it right. :)

I for one, as a self proclaimed Custom Track Master, do say that this track SUCKS.

Nope. Hateful and boring car is hatefully boring. Only exception is if it's a MFT one. Then, it's neither hateful nor boring.

Well…almost all of the custom tracks that they use have some silly flaws. From massive banked turns to a ridiculously wide track overall, the custom tracks seem to be a massive pile of all the worse corners in the world. 👎

Though, that is not to say they never get it right……

I can't either. The car goes from one extreme to the other. I brake and the car slides around like crazy and when I try to add power, massive understeer. I swear the car has skis for tires.

This track makes your track look like the Nurburgring.

IS THIS NOT AVAILABLE IN ASIA(SINGAPORE)?? WHYYY?! Why does "worldwide" not include countries in asia.

Brake in a straight line, ease back on to the throttle. Problem solved. :)

I just took the prize car out, bone stock, for a handful of laps on my new custom track. Enjoyed it quite a bit. 👍

Really? Do you want want the damn free car or not? If you do, don't complain about the awesomeness of driving aids.

I never said I wasn't going to do it. Plus I feel like a doofus now because I actually enjoyed doing it. :P Got a 1:37.XXX after 3 laps. Then I wanted to get my new livery GTR.

I reject your advice and substitute my own!

I'm pretty much sliding the car around and/or turning off throttle, making the tires glow red in the process. Went from 36s to a 34.9 in ten minutes. :dopey:

For Asian players, the same car was given out back in the Asia Onlne Tournament on 1 September 2011, which I assume was even using the same event with the same Eiffle 105A track.

PD probably just reused that track and free car, and open it up to the rest of the 'world'. :)

See here for the event.

Yeah.. lol. Welcome to the world of SRF. It rewards you for overdriving the car. I figured spending time here would give me bad habits, so I stopped. I may not be able to resist the competition though. Must not go back, must not go back.....

Looking at the times, I don't feel like chasing that extra 2-3 seconds. :ill:

So after no real effort, I found this oh so special GT-R Academy SPECIAL (needs) with even more fanboi-baiting paintwork (which you can't change) is exactly the bleeding same as the GT Academy Version, making them both just nerfed versions of the original car. No aero, and now now repainting too :irked:

So it's just a matte black pile of dog turd with white stripes which isn't as good as the one everyone can buy?

Is there adjustable aerodynamics on it then?

Lolnope, most you can do is change the wheels 👎 you can't even change the race number!

Oh………so, it's like this, then, is it?

GTR R35 = Hateful and boring
GTR R35 GTA Special = Hateful, useless and boring.

Agreed, all of PD's custom tracks seem to have "jumps" in them. Can't forget Eiger and Cape Ring, they have jumps as well.

Edit: why so much hate for the R35?

Agreed, the only custom track I like is the Kei car seasonal's Eifel track, because I have set a personal best that I am super proud of...

And it's mainly hate for THIS GT-R...since PD have decided to give us a clone of a worse version of the stock SpecV, with even less redeeming features

As the other GTP CTM ... I agree. 👎

PD gives us awful custom tracks. The course maker may leave much to be desired, but it CAN make decent tracks if you put the effort into it.

See my track thread and R1600's track thread to see how it should be done.

So PD, please consult myself and R1600Turbo for tips on making good tracks. Or maybe just let us do it for you in the future.

EDIT: And never EVER force SRF again in a seasonal!

One thing to remember is that the replay of a fastest lap could have come from any lap they made, not just the first one. If they are crossing the start line faster, it is most likely because the replay was taken from a hot lap with warm tires and after the best negotiation of the final turn leading to the start.

Shame on me, It didn't come to my mind...

I honestly can't believe you guys were expecting more. :ouch:

A wing taken from the Spec V's aftermarket parts catalog isn't much to add or ask for, is it? In fact, I was expecting some form of downforce adjustment for the GTAcademy cars like that 370Z they gave us.

I never got this particular one though, only the 370Z.

For any DS3 users, you are out of luck on being competitive on this time trial. Because of skid recovery being forced on you are forced to go close to full lock on the wheel, but the DS3 isn't capable of getting the same turn-in. So in theory, you are only steering half the amount you need to at times, which obviously means it's a lot slower.

I'll have to get used to the DFGT wheel, currently like 2.5 seconds off the pace :dunce:
