New GT-R Seasonal Time Trial

After consistant 1:44's, I started to get the hang of the wild cornering and ripped off a 1:42.002! I fist pumped and everything... I defiantly pulled a Massa.

So I hit restart, and the next lap out nail a 1:41.473 which is good enough for me at the moment đź‘Ť Bumped me up to 7300 on the charts as well. Sure does get the adrenaline going this one!

only redeeming thing about this event is cash and free car

but I hate eifel tracks, and not bothered about lap times. stopped as soon as i cashed in. so uninsppiring i was too lazy to plug the wheel usb to the PS3. did it with a DS3 in automatic on my couch with a cigarette hanging from my lips, that's how much love i gave this event

enjoy for those that like this, but I eagerly await a new seasonal -> ideally like the first set of seasonals back in Jan/Feb (which were like the Expert Challenge Race), where getting gold was a challenge (eventhough I didn't get all of them) and cars had specific entry requirements

Hey guys, I really hooked up a good one this morning, but having said that there is still a few more tenths to chase, mainly in T1. I must say it's one of the best tracks of driven on, very challenging, negotiating the s sections at the start requires immense commitment and rythm, seen a few .8's there at T1. But linking it all up in one lap is a different story. Does anyone want me to create a video of the 31.691 l

I know what you mean there, with the aggressive stance you have to take even a slightly lift costs you a tenth plus easy. Keep at it though Dan! Won't be doing anything tonight on it but I'll be back on it tomorrow :).

I would love to see the 1'31.691 lap. That's just a silly lap time to me now...silly in a sense that it's probably un-obtainable for me lol.

And I do agree with you regarding the track. I love the beginning section of the track in particular where if you get timing of the 1st turn of the s section, the lines seemingly just fall into place.

I am not sure I understand why you would say who cares? Obviously many of us care that SRF is forced on. I play GT5 not just to be ranked on a time trial. I play GT5 because it gives me the feeling of a simulation, and that I can improve my driving skills.

It wasn't directed at you, I was just saying that since there isn't any redeming value in picking it apart just drive the event and understand that it is for fun. It's kind of one of those "When in Rome" things.

I like the track and wish I could drive other cars on it but since we can't I'll take what I can get. The track has such great flow and has a graceful feel to it. The width of the track is great as it allows for some artistic line selections. I love "Right hand Left hand Up hill Down hill" style of tracks anyway so this track is in my fun catagory.

Just shut up with "why SRF" complaints and do/do not do the damn challenge.
All this fuss about SRF reminds me of the Chicago cut on DC seasonal, and I said right from the start that the cut only gives you 0.3 seconds, yet people were crying as if it adds 50.
Woop de doo - who was first with cut? EDDSKILL.
Who was first without? EDDSKILL.
Same goes with this seasonal - SRF off or on - top guys will stay on top.

Just Shut up with the " Just shut up" complaints.

Why is you complaining about me expressing my opinion any better than me just posting how I feel on a board about the event?

I am sure that PD pay attention to fans of the game and their feedback. So if i want to voice my opinion that in future events there should not be SRF than i should be allowed to without comment.

You telling people to "shut up" or "when in Rome" is just a POINTLESS comment that just gets people angry.

If you feel that SRF is OK and you enjoy it on, or even if you dont care... just say what you think. No need to tell me to shut up.

I dont want to get the hang of the wild (unrealistic) cornering.

I miss that blue raceline thingy, i'm almost useless without the ideal line indicator, even more than normal
But i'd welcome more 'homemade' events and i thank PD for the car.
Greetings stano666 :)

Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Dude get over it, if you are this emotional over this go light up the PD forum. What do you think your going to accomplish by bringing me into your issues? It is what it is :)

Just consider this as Kaz personaly throwing you into the water to make you swim, he is a real race car driver and he is forcing you to be a better driver by using landmarks. I know it's a great crutch to learn a track w/ but you will never be one w/ the track until you go "Ah La Natural"

Can't remember exactly what time I did. But it had me ranked in the top 600 yesterday afternoon.

Interesting track. It does flow well. Nice to get a free car.

Another vote for this, please do! Wanted to see if you upshift to 5th gear approaching the big dipping S and or downshift to 2nd gear just before the downhill in your fastest run (i'm guessing not). Also please don't skip the bumper view for those of us who use that view (3rd toggle) :) Great runs đź‘Ť

I redlined a couple of 1.33s last night but want give this a shot during the coming holidays here.

Only 4 times are sub 1:32.000
Chances of a sub 1:31:000 are slim
A sub 1:30.000 :embarrassed: thats got to be near impossible!

Yeah, I am starting to think that my intial thought that the 20s were possible, was wrong. I have seen DHolland's previous lap, and it doesn't seem like there is much left in it.

When I ran the '34 after such a short stint, I knew there was a lot more in it. I thought there was a good 2 seconds in it for me, if I was willing to grind it out for a couple hours. I thought the aliens would be able to find more.. Which obviously DHolland did, just not as much as I originally thought.

The last lap looks very good, I am curious where he found the extra .3.

Just ran this TT on my GTP account. Managed to get in the top 100 for now which puts me as the slowest GTP tagged driver in the top 250 ;). Never did a lap that felt reasonable yet though. I think if I did a lap without any major mess-ups on all the corners I think I would go at least 6 tenths faster.

Exams ended today so I set my cockpit up, had a 20 minute stint chasing DHolland's ghost.
There's at least 0.2 left on the track.

Anyways, lowered my time to 1:33.8, which is 1.1 seconds faster than my best pad time (1:34.9 invalidated though).

Will have a proper go later, I'll try to get into 32s. ;)

I love this! I'm still looking for the extra 5!

Can't believe it...
At T3 I was 0.4 off DHolland, ended up 2.0 behind.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO" moment... :banghead:

I was so shocked with my splits that my right foot started shaking (stress? what the...) and I'm calling it a day (night).
I'll give it another go tomorrow.
[1:33.7xx as of now]

GTP_DHolland, fellow Aussie here (you're doing us proud :D). Your lap was great to watch, awesome driving.
Best time here was a 1:35.9, still a few tenths here and there to be had... just waiting for the skin around the thumbnails to regrow.
The approach to the corkscrew seems the most challenging for me at this stage, I saw you went through it in third gear but I can't seem to carry that much speed into it.. more practice tonight.

Nice lap mate! But you should get some sleep as well :sly:

I mean from tonight. hope you'll get soon between 10 best so i'll be able to download your lap.

I did not believe when people said " I do 20 laps and mark my record"

Today in 9 laps pass from 1:33.356 to 1:32.514

I found it's true

I don't know how you guys are getting such good times. I can't seem to get under 1.45 without getting invalidated. I also hate the skid recovery force, I find it makes control harder on the sixaxis than what it already is, and I also hate getting your next lap invalidated, its infuriating for making one little mistake that you waste your next lap.

nice time Bocha. I'm gonna try and to catch you and Lester. :) Make it a 1 & 2 for the Canadians. hehe

1:34.578 with a controller using D-Pad. Think I can knock off another .5 but that would be the most. We will see.

Thanks jaskingt5, I see you improved yesterday too đź‘Ť
LoL, I was studying all day yesterday and then when I played gt5 I must have done 40 laps on the time trial. So addictive.

As for the top 10, I think I can get a 1:31.9xx if I can put a nice lap together :scared:

just hit restart button, problem solved. simples

On the restart, you will not be on a flying lap.
Your speed crossing the start/finish is way to low

Just managed a 1:32.047, I feel I could knock another 2 tenths out of it.

Heres the leader-board in case anyone's interested.

http://eu.gran-turismo.com/au/products/gt5/event/d38083.html

Ran session earlier today which didn't result in bringing home the goods, but managed some impressive splits, namely a .155 at T3 and a couple of .7's at T1 (with good line for the following right).

1st corner has a limit of 210kmh, was struggling a bit with the corkscrew, it appears the more you drive it, the more there is to loose and you start driving conservatively.
