New GT-R Seasonal Time Trial

Could someone post the sector times for a sub 32 time?

I didn't see any replay and I want know where I'm loosing time.

Thanks in advance

These are the sector times for a 31.567 time:
sector 1, 21.826
sector 2, 21.200
sector 3, 16.142
sector 4, 32.399

Also interesting are the apex speeds (in mph) for this lap:
braking point before turn 1, 173
turn 1, 135
turn 2, 122
turn 3, 114
turn 4, 113
turn 5, 103
turn 6, 97 (hairpin)
turn 7, 125
turn 8, 70 (corkscrew)
turn 9, 90
turn 10, 110 (chicane part one)
turn 11, 103 (chicane part two)
finish line, 162

I have been looking at these to try & understand where I am losing out - currently on a 35.577 using ds3

It was mentioned in this thread that Pad users are at a huge disadvantage with SRF-on!

Usually pad users are only at a slight disadavantage, I can usually easily get within 0.5 seconds of my wheel time while using the pad. On this TT thats not the case. I was more like 2.5 seconds behind my wheel time although i only tried 5 laps, but they were good laps

yes, understand the srf issue & therefore won't be able to match wheel times but still staggered by sector 1 apex speeds especially turn one where I am getting less than 120mph!

I know, its crazy the amount of extra grip to be had with the wheel by just turning the wheel more and more !

It depends quite alot on the lap ^^.

I mean heres a group of my lap times with sectors:

26/11/2011 21:00 Wheel 21.810 21.183 16.162 32.555 01:31.710
27/11/2011 14:00 Wheel 21.795 21.374 16.462 32.308 01:31.939
27/11/2011 15:00 Wheel 22.032 21.292 16.245 32.330 01:31.899
27/11/2011 19:00 Wheel 21.890 21.121 16.214 32.394 01:31.619
27/11/2011 20:00 Wheel 21.998 21.098 16.152 32.422 01:31.670

And on actual times Anything 22 dead (21.6xx seems feasable with a nailed first corner, and a big apex speed in 2 maintaining a tight line in 3) and below with a tight line out of that corner is a good lap or better depending on time, Anything that is 43.3 (Have seen a 42.926 so i very much anticipate a 42.8xx or even 7 if i nail both first and second sectors) down is a good lap or better, anything below 59.6 (Expect 58's here by the end of the TT). is a good lap or better and then obviously across the finish line :).

These are just 1 lap from the fastest of that stint as you can see theres time everywhere still and non are my PB's but all take my normal line with time lost with mistakes during the lap.

On a pad you can still hit 125 mph apex speed on Turn 1, but yes still a disadvantage of about 1.5 - 2 seconds mainly Sector 1 (Second and 3rd corner) and Sector 2 (The Entire of it).

I've dedicated my day to this TT. My first three hours (or so) my average way around 1:36.3. Then I moved my sensitivity from -2 to 7. Immediately my times dropped to an average of 1:35.8.

I'm loving the elevation changes of this track. Wish we could DL it. It would be wicked fun with an MR2 or Caterham.

Please, Santa, be kind.

Sat down for a session and took .515 off my previous best (1:36.783), then straight after, took .3 off that. Then, to my horror, I realise that I'd left traction control at 5, so I turned it off and quickly beat it again, just so that my best time wouldn't be a TC lap. I think my last couple of sessions might've been tc assisted - I forgot it always defaults back on.

1:35.456 and I reckon there's a 1:34 on the cards (probably 1 sec + just in sector 1 - I need to review the lap data)

But it feels good to be within 4 sec of the top drivers (104.3% - at least I'd be allowed on the grid!)

Went from 2,927th to 1,307th which doesn't look much but I think it's one of my best time trial results after a week online.

PS has anyone had this happen?

My DF locked up with a quarter turn on it also. (the sound was still there (didn't record) but it was well and truly crashed)

So now im even more gutted than yesterday.....

I did in a 40 lap stint 8 1:31.7xx's....... With over half of my laps all under 1:32.... And even more annoying is that my fastest .7 I was up by 3 tenths after sector 2 and on some laps 2 tenths further ahead after hairpin....

Its there just nailing this god aweful lap is a pain in the neck lol :P. Ill bring sector times of those laps tomorrow as i feel they had something special.

You know! Getting the sector times aint too hard, It's stringing them all together in one perfect lap that's the tricky part!

Haven't had any time today to improve my DS3 time, but when I do I'll let you know how it goes, and my sector times.

I have to agree to this.
It's not how fast I can drive every sector - it's how close I can get to my combined best sector times in the course of one lap.
If I come about 0.050 close then Im happy and I call it a day.

I'm not talking about this TT, I'm talking about TTs in general.

Good luck Tid, you deserve this victory with that ammount of determination.

Keep in mind that each sector is tied to the one in front and back. Because some corners are "sacrifice" corners it's not possible to string together the best independent sector times.

Hey Private and Martin. Just checked the leaderboards. Nice job on the times 👍

Wish I could give this a go but don't have a proper setup. My DFGT won't clip to the only table I can use right now and the pedals are fecked anyway. Every time i release brake pedal it stays on about 2%. Quite annoying.

Here's hoping for a wheel stand and g27 over christmas!

Thanks bobby!

Very useful information.

In the american leaderboards turismo lester still on top and the times starts to get close to 1:32

Very fun TT

ps: my english is :yuck:

Hey man, thats a shame :(! Would have been nice to see you up there to! Good luck hopefully the GT Gods influence some1 to get you those :D!

Totally agree that its about all together, But when your consistently nailing improved sector times its just about the pressure of knowing your ahead. But I know the times there and I won't give up till I get it, even if the redbulls have to come out :P.

Cheers for the luck tho think anyone needs it in this kind of environment :)! Every little helps :D!

Will be on a bit later tonight as im off to the gym.

hey iam IMMORTALPILOT whats up guys??

lol, nice time dude 👍

Hey Des, that sucks, I've had terrible luck with DFGT aswell, I got the first one 2nd hand, and the brake pedal is stuck at 2% like you, then I got a brand new DFGT and the steering wheel works fine for 30mins then steering the wheel causes all sorts of buttons to be randomly pressed.

So I''ve got my old wheel and new pedals together for one good set :(

It is Sebastian Vettel taking pole ahead of Mark Webber ;). (Edit: Actual info about IMMORTALPILOT: http://gran-turismo-5.webs.com/apps/profile/72106872/)

Dan nearly took the top spot back straight away, top draw stuff to beat his own time so quickly, hopefully the GTP tagged drivers currently in the top 10 take the top two spots.

LoL, thats the perfect analogy, set within minutes of each other!
Great competition on this TT

I also had problems with the brake pedal of my DFP earlier this year. Had to open it and "tighten" the pedal spring a little (there are tutorials on this somewhere in the internets). Cleaning up the sensor could also help as the pedals tend to gather quite a lot of dirt inside.

Lol, that's the exact issue I have with mine too. You could be driving through a corner and then the PS button presses internally and you're off. Can't wait to get a g27. I used a g25 halfway through the Academy TT last year and saw over half a second improvement that day due to being able to modulate the pedals much more precisely.

i have drive yesterday 60 laps but on some days 160 laps.
But the kart in gt5 is not good.
Much other then in real life.
For me thats verry bad.

its not like in real.
its difficult to explain that.
in real life the kart have verry much grip in the game i only strugling.

Yeah, you're not wrong there, but I always go for the fastest lap time rather than fastest sector time, even if it can be temtping to make it seem like you're on a faster lap xD.

I find that interesting because I find GT5 similar / easier than my first and only experience in Karting. I think maybe that is due to the fear factor when you have over 30 Karts going around a small track hitting speeds of nearly 80MPH and it being my first time in a Kart. Should have really booked a practice session first. Will hopefully in Summer try it again.

Sorry people for being off topic.
