Technically.....Spa pays out more.

Spa: 4.000.000 cr/700.000 XP in ~25 mins (200% bonus|Minor "nursing" your driver|Fairly easy)
La Sarthe: 6.000.000 cr/1.000.000 xp in ~40 mins (200% bonus|Consistent "nursing" your driver|A lot harder)

Spa x2: 8.000.000 cr/1.400.000 XP in ~50 mins (fairly easy) 1-10% chance of losing, no need for cheating (Chapparal 2J) -> therefore legit win
La Sarhe x2: 12.000.000 cr/2.000.000 XP in ~1hr and 20 mins (a lot harder) 50-100% chance of losing -> majority tends to "cheat" using the 2J -> not legit = not fun

Thats kinda what im thinking. If im wrong in the numbers, someone can go ahead and correct me.

Stop him from running on worn tyres or too much in the red on his mood bar then.

I'm running a Lv38 Bob in a 691PP CLK-LM (820hp or so, 1000kg, 246mph on the gearbox). I've found that if I start him on Racing Hard tyres and give him three laps on those, he can make a good fist of the third (sacrificial) lap and then do 7 full laps on the Inters. He loses a bit of lap time to the leaders on laps 6 and 7 for that set, but they all pit at lap 9 (6th lap on the Inters)...

The trick is to get him absolutely raging at the start and up close to the BMW V12 LMR, then bring his mood back down to just over the centre. If you can get ahead of the BMW before you both stop on lap 3, good. If not it's of no consequence. Then just coast him round seven laps with his mood just over centre. He'll keep the tyres good while the track dries, then gain 50s on the lead pack as they all pit.

That's pretty much it. I won on my 3rd trial after losing twice with the Minolta. Started with the Audi R8 on RH and did 3 laps, then pitted for Intermediates (was about 7th place perhaps, don't remember exactly). Took the lead at about 6th lap or so and then ran until the end, keeping the Bob chill. Was more than 30s ahead when everybody pitted at 9th lap (except me). Must have won by more than 1min. Last lap was a little difficult as the tires were thrashed about 1min before the end, but just kept Bob cool and had no problem. Will try to win again latter, after spending some spare Cr that is...

Spa was much easier, won in the 2nd attempt after Bob screwing up in the 1st and pitting before the last lap on his own (I didn't realize), losing the lead with that.

To grind money, Spa is THE way to go.

No babysitting at all, easier, shorter...

Nice analysis sir! :)

But yeah, I prefer Spa as well. Not anxious, and easier. We still get A LOT of XP and cr with the 200% bonus. You know what they say.....long road might be longer, but it's safer ;)

Agreed, Spa is a better bet for grinding. Only I think I got only 700k XP for it (200%), but I can also be mistaken. Anyway, it is far easier. But, as I said, I will try La Sarthe again later, just for the challenge. If I can stop playing Fifa 12, that is, also. :)

I am entertained at taking my beloved Sao Paulo to win the Brazilian league, after having won the cup thrashing our biggest rivals Corinthians in the finals (5-0 and 4-1) - but in the league I'm having a harder time, about 9 points behind them... :D

I must have restarted the La Sarthe about 10-15 times by now. If all those times were laps in Spa, I would be lvl 40 in B-Spec now.....oh well.

And yeah....after 2nd DLC came out, I managed to stop playing Fifa 12

EDIT: Thanks guys, I corrected my post. 700.000 XP it is.
EDIT 2: Mazda Furai Concept '02 in Gran Turismo Silver in UCD|117 km. I'll buy it Mr. Kaz. Why? Because I have the money :sly:

Arrgh! First post here, I had to sign up and share my grief!

I won Spa first time out with a Xanavi Nismo GTR, no problems.

I need a non-2J option for Le Mans as I don't have that car. My driver is level 38.

I have tried Le Mans now 4 times. Firstly with the 908 Peugeot, tried to hold out another lap after the everyone pitted for the first time but that didn't work, I ended up 7th. Switched to the Minolta and managed 6th pitting when everyone else did but it was tough. I went back to the 908 and came 2nd by .06 seconds on the third effort, by pitting with everyone else the first time but holding out on the tyres and not piutting again. The tyres were screwed on the last lap.

So I tried to replicate the third race and only pit once after lap 2 and get my Bob to take it easier towards the end of the race, I ended up leading on the last lap as usual but coming over the line in 4th.

I have been racking my brains trying to find a setup that's easier on tyre wear.

I have added weight and reduced power to my 908 to get it to 700pp. Can anyone suggest a setup?

I have 6,000,000 in the bank and can buy another car if you think this would help. Any tips appreciated.

Perhaps we need a list (or thread) of people willing to put their 2Js online so that others can use them.

I'll put mine on shared status later this evening. If anyone wants to borrow it, send a friend request to "Kwicko" on PSN. I've actually got two of them, one well-used and the other a 0/0/0 example, and I'll put 'em both up - with full mods, of course.

Hit me up. Who else wants to share their 2J? Your car can make a lot of people an awful lot of credits! :)

not got the luxuryof a 2j tried minolta toyota and pescarlo c60best i got was 6th my bobs are lvl 32 and 26 any suggestions time is running out to master this thanks.

I will try the 2J. Yesterday, I tried with the Peugeot 908 and as I started lap 10 I passed 2 cars to go 2nd and was flying after the leader about 3s ahead. Then my tyres gave up in dramatic fashion and I finished 10th with a final lap of 5'51. Heart breaking!!!

:sly:

Join the club.

I've had one attempt with the 908 where he was leading into the Porsche Curves but was then overtaken for second. Not so bad I thought it's still a very decent prize.... by the middle of the Ford Chicane (the last corner!) I was down to 3rd but the real nail in the coffin was being overtaken on that tiny 100m piece of straight at the end to finish 4th. :ouch:

Nasty!

I got it with my first 2J attempt this this afternoon. I started on RH tyres and pitted with several others at the end of Lap2 while I was 7-8, changed to IN and got a new Bob(Lvl35 for Lvl 32). The AI pitted again at the end of Lap9 but I stayed out as I had kept my Bob (Lvl32) in good shape around 75% so as not to excessively degrade the tyres.
I won by 12s after a pretty cautious final lap and was very excited by Cr6m and XP1m.

It was a great race and one which I wish was A-spec along with Spa.

I just ran Roj's 2J on Sport Softs. All was going well kept my deiver's pace at around 75%. Pitted at lap 8/9 for a driver change and thought I'd switch to RH tires. That wasn't smart. My soon to be retired most experienced driver acted like he had rocks in his head!!! On the last lap, he decides to over shoot Indy! And then try to push down the fence in front of him!

He managed to get out if it and still win. Albeit not by much!

I quitted on the La Sarthe. Won it about 4 times, then I moved on grinding the Spa. Pays out more cr/xp per minute. I have a detailed post on page 5 explaining why. Easier, faster.

Wahey! I borrowed Kwicko's 2J and won, SS all the way, no pitting. I was 7th into lap 9 but when everyone pitted in Lap 10 I went to first and won by 11 seconds. Level 35 Bob. Thanks Kwicko!

No worries - glad to do it, and glad to hear it worked for ya!

I hope this help (If the Seasonal Event is Fixed pattern)

Spa

Start with Intermediate (At start may 30% flood),
Pit-in at Lap 7/8 to exchange Racing Hard (Sunny again and Flood drop to 40% and lower)

Le mans

Start with Racing Hard,
Pit-in at Lap 2 or 3 to exchange Intermediate (Rainy and Get flood to 60%) ,
Pit-in at Lap 8 to exchange Racing Hard (Rain stopped and Flood levels will drop to 40%)
※Renew Intermediate were not a good idea but this OK since the race almost complete and you have leading a long way.

I still don't know how to avoid pitstops... I 'd won Spa if my driver didn't have to pit in lap 8! :banghead:

I won Sarthe with the 2J / ss combo, but only LUCK my driver didn't pit in.

So, please, how the heck do you know your driver gonna pit and how do you stop him doing so?

Cancel it every Laps.

However, when the Bobs keep do Pit Stop request by himself, that means you are under competitive.
(B-sepc actually have hidden strategy assistant)

Ok thanks, so I have to cancel every lap ( which doesn't always work ) and no my driver doesn't pit much only so that he can be sure not to win! ;s

Nice. 👍

I didn't have the courage to go for the tyre saving option so I went for a two stopper first one was on lap two by which point I was up to 5th after overtaking six cars plus the Audi that overshot Mulsanne corner. By the time the AI came to pit in on lap 3 despite a bit of traffic I moved up to second just behind the Bentley and ahead of the Audi that had spun a few laps earlier.

After that it was easy, Bob quickly despatched the Bentley then went on to do an epic sequence of laps meaning by the end of lap 6 I was a full pit stop ahead!

I thought lap 6 would be good time to pit in as this would mean an equal spread of laps on the last two stints and from there I kept ahead comfortably to the end with only a small excursion to the gravel on lap 8.

Pretty happy to have managed it in a stock 908, from what I've read no one else has managed to do this yet but this proves it can be done and quite easily!

1st: Peugeot 908
2nd: Audi R8 '01 +22.9
3rd: Bentley EXP8 +35.9
4th: BMW LMR +46.1

I've tried repeatedly with the R8 and the best I can get (on La Sarthe) is bronze. My BoB is level 32, with a cool head.

Man, I want the 2J but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any pointers where to buy it?

Chris

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but if people only actually READ the posts they would know what to do. It was pretty tough typing the above on the iPhone, so that's why I didn't give more details, but it is pretty easy actually.

Trying to elaborate more, I can't be totally sure about the setting as I don't have access to my PS3 right now (the TV is being used, and I am too lazy to transfer it to another TV), but I used the Audi R8 and pretty much what I did was to set a high downforce (5 below the max for both front and rear), de-tune the engine until 700 pp (it was about 700 CV or HP)... Did minor changes to suspension (I don't think it really makes a difference, as I won by more than 1 min)... Max speed set to 410 kph I think (perhaps 400 but I really think it was 410 - 1 mile is 1,6 km so you American guys can figure it out, but, well, 400 kph is 250 mph to make it even simpler). I think that's about it.

Then just start with RH, do 3 laps (I might have done 4 laps, not sure, but I think it was really only 3), pit and change to Intermediates and go until the end, keeping the Bob cool. You can be aggressive while still not leading, so he will pass quickly, and then until you get an edge of some 10s, than just keep him cool (below 50%, and in the end it can be a good idea to keep in the lower 10% as tires get worned).

I tried it only once (after losing twice with the Minolta) and won with an advantage of 30s after lap 8 (after lap 9 the AI pits and get even further behind).

It is really easy, and as I said, I did it only once, but I really don't think the outcome will be any different if I do it again (which I intend to, later today).

Oh yes, I started with a lvl 37 Bob and used a lvl 32 after the pit.

I might as well try the Chaparral 2J on SS later (I am not sure if I have one, but I think I do, or is that the 2D?).

So, guys, just use the R8 and do as I said and be happy.

SARTHE: My bob just won on the first attempt with the chap 2J with sports soft. I just canceled pit near the end of each lap and hit the red up arrow on the straight aways. The AI cars pitted twice. Was in 5th after the 2nd lap pit (some AI cars pitted) and stayed in 1st for a couple laps after the 1-4 cards pitted a little bit later. Bob lost the lead and fell to 6th on the 8th lap, but then when they all pitted at the end of lap 9, bob took the lead for good. By the way, to the ones who consider this cheating I don't think so. It's called a pit/tire strategy and the intro to the race says the key to winning is tire selection - especially in light of the fact that some of your opponents will have more horsepower/PP no matter which car you select, you have to find some other way to win.

Ok thanks, so I have to cancel every lap ( which doesn't always work ) and no my driver doesn't pit much only so that he can be sure not to win! ;s

On your screen bottom center/left there should be a picture with a yellow headset + microphone. When you click on that you will see your normal slow pace/increase pace/maintain pace, but on the far right you will see "pit in" and "pit cancel". When you get near the end of each lap, click on that and you should be all set.

tried it in an R10 only managed 4th then did it in the GT-ONE un-used,fitted mid turbo RH tyres and tranny which was set to 242 mph

lap 1.8th.lap 2 pitted for inters in 7th.out in 10th. lap 4 up to 3rd most others are still pitting.lap 5 in 1st and stayed there pitted again end of lap 9 for RH. won by 32 sec's

lvl 39 bob only prompting was maintain pace to keep him midway in the red, last lap he was dead cold all the way a bit tired bless him

car is in share box if anyone want's to use it
psn;hooliohall

bluexterra, I also don't consider it cheating. Sports tyres will naturally last longer, so you are using a car with tyres that last longer, simple as that. It is just a strategy. If you could win using a Fiat with whatever settings, it's another strategy. I don't see what can possibly be wrong about that...

2j worked for me. It's not the most honourable way to win but I'll take it. Going to try some different cars/strategy combinations though.

Is it possible to use any other car apart from the 2J though?

Like maybe the Audi R10?

Just won the Spa on the 3rd attempt with Catrol TOM'S Supra '97. Used hard race tires and did not pit in at all. Have to be very attentive to Bob. My bob was Lvl 40 with blue up arrow. Red pace up at the start of the straight aways and blue down pace just before the curvy sections. Managed to get into 2nd place just before all the other cards pitted. Last 3 laps had to keep the mood meter below halfway and keep bob calmed down so he wouldn't spin out. The key is to *slowly* work your way up close to the top leaders when they go in for the pits around lap 8.
