New Seasonal: NR-A Roadster Cup

XP payouts:

Tsukuba - 43800
Autumn Ring Mini - 39600
Trial Mountain - 45000
Clubman Stage/Route 5 Reverse - 42900
Eifel (Kart) 108A - 45900

I did skip through a couple of the XP screens a bit quickly, did manage to catch the amounts correctly but if any are wrong please correct me, most are right, probably all.

Am I the only one here that is super pumped about the new seasonal?
Well, I'm not super pumped - but I'm not amongst the 'instant hater, just add new seasonal' crowd either.

It would be more fun though if the tracks had been completely left-field choices: MX-5s at Chamonix; Daytona Speedway; Nürburgring; London...the list can go on and on :)

In my opinion, this is the greatest seasonal possible. I LOVE the MX5. None of them ever understeer, just grip all the time. Absolutely amazing.

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, I used to like Mazda MX5s ... but having played GT4 and 5, I'm now left with the overwhelming urge to throw rocks at them ... we don't need that many versions of the some sodding car, nor do we need constant efforts to justify their inclusion…

The real world brings the justification. The Miata/MX-5 has for instance made Car and Driver's Top ten car list 10 times, Road & Track describes it as one of the five best cars in the World and even Top Gear loves it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jqmGTOz4kQ&feature=rec-HM-fresh+div

Plus there is the racing - tell me this would not be fun to take part in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oDd0YBbHbI (Ignore the music and the, at times, strange editing).

Makes me wish I still had a MX-5.

Even though its good we have a new seasonal event, surely something more original would not have been to much to ask, I mean Mazda roadsters at tsukuba!

^This^ +1
I'm just gonna buy a new one & only do an oil change & start from there to check out the difficulty...

Oh my god, just saw I have about 33 cars eligible for this seasonal. Never realised there were so many miatas in GT5...oh well, better get on with it then.

Shiza!!!! Not Tsukuba again...

It has not gone at all, all the events are still triple cash payouts. Lay off the coffee mate. :dunce:

I went to the site Amar linked to, seeing as he's a major player round here I took his word for gospel without checking the game.

Still doesn't excuse that this is a seasonal duplicate of Apec stuff anyway (albeit with some different tracks and higher rewards). I'd like some of the old "Vs" events. Like Evo's V Scoobies. That sort of thing. I have no confidence in PDs ability to use their imagination anymore.

The car already has plenty of Aspec stuff, there's cars that have NOTHING yet. How about an even for NSX's or Evo's V Scoobies?? Or the "red R" stuff from the older games? PD needs someone with imagination. It's all getting rather boring again.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know. My comment was decidedly tongue-in-cheek. I know it's a great car, I'm fairly certain the British have bought more of them than the rest of the world put together (the UK, for reasons unknown to myself, has a massive penchant for topless cars).

Half a dozen different models would have done. And out of all the other cars we have access to, surely we could have an event dedicated to some of them, before yet another MX-5 event, no..??

PS - I'll watch the vids later, at work right now :ouch:

finished, made a TON of money from it, and man that miata can drift! i was drifting the WHOLE TIME!

Then try again with another MX-5/Miata/whateverthehellthathingmightbecalled. And again. And again. Until you have won all 5 races with every single availible car.

To anyone who's good at maths: how many of these cars are there? How much credits and XPs would you get if you actually did that? Let's assume you could win with anyone without tuning. And how long would it take? :dopey:

I agree that with the MX-5 as with a bunch of other cars, which are all mainly Japanese, we could with a lot less models since they are so similar. The stupid thing is there are some rather different models which they missed. How could they not included these:

- The very limited Le Mans Victory celebration turbocharged MX-5

- The MSM MX-5 (Another turbocharged factory Miata)

- The MX-5 Superlight (A 2009 concept model)

- The coupe (not as in PRHT but a real coupe)

The sad part is I guess it comes down to money and marketing with the one causing cars to be left out and with the other causing the number of cars to be inflated by including a lot of similar models. Could be worse though - imagine them including loads of different versions of rubbish cars.

Enough typing - time to hit the track and enjoy the perfect 50/50 balance of the MX-5.

I'm a bit indifferent to them really. Yes great cars IRL.

I used a premium ('07 I think) for the first three tracks, it was already slightly tuned at 200 HP and Sport softs. Used this as I wanted to do Tsukuba just once and be done. Screwed up on lap four by going too fast under the Dunlop bridge and bouncing off the barrier - finished fourth.:dunce:

Way too easy with this car - just taking the money for now though. It has an understeery drift if pushed and is quite hard to upset, almost... a bit dull and lifeless like the NSX. I'll probably revisit with SH tyres on an older car (I have six of them, no idea where from! Perhaps they breed)

Great Seasonal.

Attend a NASA or SCCA event, you'll find plenty of MX-5's racing in the real world.

I can't believe nobody is complaining about the kart tracks, we always seem to get those as the last race in every seasonal that uses small cars.. Never mind Tsukuba, I love that track!

With so many possible options, I really don't see why they made yet another Miata @ Tsukuba race. Is it pure laziness on their part? Were they hounded with calls from people saying they need more Miata races? I find that hard to believe.

And did someone at PD ever clarify exactly why there were so many duplicates of these cars? Is it really just to pad the list?

Very underwhelming... even a Subaru 360 @ Indy oval would be more exciting.
