Golded the first TT in a '98 s2000. I don't know why I decided to make it so difficult, but it was fun.

I have tweaked that set-up a little, Here
Best lap with this set-up 1:11.474
The LSD is as default.

I just managed a best lap of 1:12.261 using your setup with one minor tweak. I dropped 5 from the rear wing and used the 1 PP to add power (using the power limiter). This seemed to increase my speed through the loop, but made the landing after the jump a little sketchy. I still could manage the following turn at full throttle.

I don't know for sure if the tweak made the difference, but thought you might be interested.

Cheers!

If anyone is running the Deep Forest Raceway 345bhp Time Trial with the R390, here's my setup:

Suspension
-20/-30
15.1/14.4
7/5
7/5
5/5

2.0/1.0
0.00/0.00

LSD
5/7/7

Transmission
6-speed close ratio (fixed ratios)

BB 2/2 ABS 9

Currently in 6th on a 1'19.684

Great time, and thank you for sharing the tune. Did you stick a wing on the ol' fish? If so, what were your downforce settings? Thanks in advance!

I've tried having the rear downforce as low as 70, but over the jump the front tips upward and the landing is real sketchy, I'll try drop 5 and raise the limiter, an extra 1mph around the loop could add up. 👍

Gonna try this later today, but aint the ABS a bit high or is it just me ?

Dear all:

Now I'm not one for normally having a rant, but now I'm pi$$ed.

1. I still don't have the bleeding R390 Road Car, so that's buggered one TT.

2. It is impossible to go through the corners with the GT Formula Car at full speed with the DS3 (even on sensitivity 7). I've got my time down to 1:14.5, I think another half a second can be squeezed but that's about it. Can people please answer a question, is everyone achieving full speed through most corners using a 900degree wheel? The Top10 guys are doing this, I just want to check because it could be my set-up. Having said that, I have played around a bit to point of using +0.90 toe to try and get the car to really bit into the corners, but still no luck

PrivateJoker, I know you are extremely quick with a DS3, but I noticed you top10 time is with a 900d wheel. Can I ask if you tried with the DS3 first? What kind of times could you achieve, because if you had no luck, then I defo don't want to waste hours trying to knock off a couple of tenths.

Cheers,

Hey you can add me on PSN, i have an R390 Road car set to be online, so you can borrow away mate :D

+ I tried with a 97 Impreza and got down to a 1:26.3, the Skyline a 1:26.9

Lots of fun with some of the golden oldies,

uhm guys what do you get, say you are number 1 in the time trial? Aside from showing other people that you are the fastest racer online.. I was curious about this, cause if you want to become a racing driver through GT5, you go through GT academy right?

Nice lap. 👍
I was able to download your replay while you were in top 10. :sly:

I got back up to 4th again with a 1'11.270 last night. (now dropped to 6th)
I have alot work to with my final sector as my entry speed to second corner there is low compared to others.

MadMax

if any of your guys dont have the r390 road car have one of your friends put it online so you can borrow it, thats what i did until it finally appeared in dealership

Who talks about being an racing driver ?

hi rhp82amman, only saw this now
I didnt try it with the pad first, just because I had my wheel set up.
I noticed 'you0099' did a 1:11.790 with the pad.
I imagine this car is quite difficult to control with the DS3.

Any thoughts what's the 2nd fastest car for Deep Forest time trial?

Can't see any other vehicle than R390 road car in TOP-200 list. 👎 I did some testing and Honda NSX type-R '92 seems to perform very well. (mid 1'23 laps) I hear Lancer evos going fast too, but not fast enough to match NSX type-R..?

Bathurst RX-7 was promising, but many different variations of Skyline GT-Rs, MR2, S2000, 200SX, 300ZX and Celica GT4 were total rubbish. The problem seems to be this "low" weight restriction in 350hp class, not many cars can reach 1000kg AND 345hp.

Now if only I had the R390, maybe I can borrow him :P

I saw you and Max on the boards, if I've learnt anything, it's that any tuning isn't going to make me as fast as you two .. Still about 0.6 behind Dom, see if I can get a bit closer :)

Here is my usual 'soft at the front' bizaaro tune, but works for me (1:12.521)
I tried to reduce the aero to allow some more power, and while it allowed me to power slightly ahead on the straight of the leader, as soon as the corners arrived it was all over :sly:

Aero 70/90
Power Limiter 51.9%
Ballast 200kg , Pos 0
Gears 280kph

Suspension

1/10
1/10
1/7

Camber

Toe

BB 7/3

As usual BB makes the most difference for me.

i have a 1:14.073 on a DS3

finding it hard the get over that last jump into the right, left, right left i am losing so much time!

I downloaded the ghost of position 10 and can keep on there bumper till the secon jump, then i lose so much time!

i used PR1VATEJ0KER's set up

I love the Deep Forest TT, I tuned up an R34 Skyline GT-R and ran it, on the 7th lap I pulled of my best time of 1:29.977. which put me somewhere in the mid 2000s as far as rankings, I even managed to beat of few of my friends who set their times in the Nissan R390s! Right now I'm sitting at 7347th, and I think thats pretty good considering everyone uses the R390 all the time for every time trial:P I wanted to break the mold and try something different, which is also why I'm not using an FGT at 50% power on the Cape Ring TT...

The used nsx was a fun car to drive on time trial this time around. Comfort softs make the car step out so nicely. Found myself do about ten extra laps just because of the fun factor. Easily golded.

Used a de-tuned fgt and a 787b for the 750pp tt. Track is pretty tricky if you're flying into the slower corners that come up after the "jumps" I like to abuse.

Hallo,
thanks for your setup but it is so hard for my driving style. Maibe I can soften suspention (I don't know how). Do you use turbo? Your max speed is 250 Km/h?
thanks a lot

No turbo - more torque but comfort softs don't have enough grip to maintain traction out of the slower corners so I found it quicker without the turbo.

Max speed is whatever it is with the 6-speed close ratio transmission. You can't alter it with that one.

Softer suspension is easier but slower - car understeers in the high speed bends and too much wheel-spin in the traction zones.

:)
