The Bentley Speed 8 is a good one:tup:
Inters all the way, no need to pit providing you look after the fuel. Tire deg is ok, rears on 4, fronts on 3/2 on last lap.

Finally beat this using NK's advice and set-up for the HSV.

Ran it three times and the best I managed was 12th then used this set-up and pitted at the end of lap six in 4th place. Went to intermediates without looking at the water percentage. Should've put on RS because it was at 6% and in the last four laps, I dropped down to 14th.

Ran it again and it rained the majority of the race and nailed it. Only gripe is that while I was racing I got signed out of PSN and lost my 200% bonus...

Finally rose to the challenge and beat this event. Base model SC430, 6 laps on intermediates 4 on soft. First couple corners on the soft after the Pit stop were sketchy until water went to below 40%. That's when I started flying, confidence all high when then I got off line in more ways than one. First I got signed out of PSN effectively denying me my 200% then I got off the racing line and did what must have been a 720° spin and dropped from 2nd to 7th. Few more scary moments later and failing tires of the AI I was able to fight my way back to the leader, passing him on the last lap and holding him off until the checkers by less than a second. Sad I got no bonus

I have a love / hate relationship with this event, bring on more, make it permanent in ASpec or a special event. Give us different car classes. A challenge like this at LeMans would be welcomed. It's clear PD made adjustments to something and I like it

I just had a thought occur to me and I don't have my PS3/GT6 readily available to try this myself...

I think we can all agree that PD has made changes so that Racing Intermediate or Racing Wet tires are now needed in the rain for this race, unlike races in the rain of the past where Racing Soft tires would hold just fine. Has anyone tried running in the rain outside of this Seasonal Event to see if it's true across the entire game and not just this Seasonal Event?

Also, many of us have noticed that wandering from the dryer driving line has a pronounced effect on grip levels, as it should. Again, has anyone tried this outside of this Seasonal Event?

For some reason, I have a feeling that these changes, while certainly more realistic and therefore for the better, will only be applicable for this seasonal race. :yuck:

It'll only do it if you run the grip reduction on real instead of low. It's always worked fine with that setting, problem is 99% of the races in GT6 don't use that so you can drive off the track without any issues and use slicks in the wet.

Mazda Furai with shaunm80's tune will clobber them. You can pit, I don't think you need to. I pitted after 8 even though my tires were at 5 on all 4 corners & I didn't need fuel. I started on intermediates, & took RS for the last 2 laps.
Alright tried this again, no pit stop required. Left side tires ended at 2, rights at 3, with intermediates. Had about 1/8 tank of fuel. I'm a hack so some one that is a decent driver won't trash the tires as bad. Had 1st at the first corner on lap 5. I wasn't sure what was going to happen so I tried not hammer it to hard. Won by over 20 seconds.

Good find. 👍 Easy win, no stops, RI all the way, rears down to 4 at end, my tune- stock car, limited engine, remove camber and toe, reduce trans to 174mph, inc downforce to 350 550. i am sure the tuners can make this better.

The only interesting seasonal event and Kid Recovery Force is mandatory.

This game is just and endless, bizarre and 🤬 farce.

What lap times are you running? Since I did the race yesterday using the Raybrig HSV (stock version, using Praiano's tune and put TCS at 1 to counteract difficulty gradually accelerating using the DS3) and I won with a one-stop strategy (started on IM and switched to new IM tyres in lap 5 or 6) with number 2 finishing at 9 secs. Total race time was 22:02.9. No way I could win with two stops. Just curious how you manage to win with 2 stops using a stock GT500 car. That's really impressive. :)

Good idea to reduce the brake balance on the car. Will try that, hope that prevents my tyres from wearing out by the end of lap 2 using my GT500 NSX's. :)

What's your NSX set-up? How can you survive on one set of intermediate tyres for 6-7 laps? Really want to win using my NSX but even with medium rev turbo equipped at 600 pp I can't manage to finish better than around 10th place, since I have to make two pit-stops. Finished at around 30 secs behind the winner with my Epson NSX. But using inters instead of racing softs for the last 2 laps should significantly increase my performance, since racing softs is like running on ice in the last two laps. Fastest laps are around 1:58, so don't think I'm that slow. My fastest times with a stock Xanavi 350Z and Raybrig HSV are around 2:00, slower than my NSX but then I can do with one pit-stop and win pretty easily. Total time I could manage with my NSX was around 22:35 or something.

I used Praino's Raybrig NSX 06 tune on the Takata Dome 06, everything the same except brake balance 5 - 4. I used inters until end of lap 6 and they actually lasted ok, they seem to preserve a while when it gets really wet. It was the second set that wore fairly quickly as the track started drying so just smoothness over pace.

Also I'm using ds3 at the moment with l2 as brake and r2 accelerator with abs1 for aids.

The NSX doesn't require any more power than stock to win. Use RS for 3 laps, pit the end of lap 3 for inters, use those until the end of lap 7 and switch back to RS. Tyres should last long enough, I'm usually quite hard on tyres and they were at 3 all around at the end of the race. It'll do 1:51's in the dry with a clear lap and fresh tyres, low 2:00 laps are good if it doesn't rain too hard. The car isn't that quick in the rain, so watch out if you get a race where the track gets up towards 85% wet, sometimes it'll only get to around 55%.

I had more trouble doing this strategy in the NSX I'm not quite precise enough in it to keep it on the racing line 100% on RS in the last laps.

Finally got the win with my Epson NSX.:D Just had ABS and TCS on 1 (using square for braking and X for acceleration) and used inters all the way. First time I stopped in lap 4 to get new tyres, then on the final lap I lost my tyres while in the lead with 18 secs lead or so, my rears reached 0 at the Warsteiner Curve (the one before the long back straight) and was sliding all around. Finished 7th or 8th. Then I did it again, pitted on lap 5 and again in the last lap at the same place my tyres wore out completely. Now I knew how to handle, and I won by less than 2 seconds. At the start of the final lap I was like 18 secs in front. Should have pitted a second time, would have given me the win too. :) I think I was helped by the Supra and Eneos SC430 back markers that must have held off the rival Calsonic Impul GTR for me.

These races reached a wetness of around 93%. I like it when more rain falls, the more rain the better. In the dry I can keep up with the AI but don't really get closer (maybe 1-2 seconds per lap). In the rain I am much faster than them. :D
Think my fastest lap was 1:55 to 1:57, I have no clue how some of you can do 1:51 and 1:52 laps in a stock GT500 car. Slowest lap in the heavy rain must have been something like 2:18. Was a great and challenging race. Need to work on my speed in the dryer conditions, since I can still win a lot there, I think I'm too careful.

Key to winning this race with the NSX is indeed the brake balance. At first I used the brake balance as posted by Praiano in his tune, but 8/10 is really too much. Changed it to 3/4 and my tyres lasted much longer. :) Will try 5/4 next, think that is still a better balance.

Just won with the Motul Autech GTR, just won by around 2 seconds, pitted on laps 3 and 9 (using RS/IM/RS). Was lucky that the lead Calsonic Impul GTR was held up by the Supra, so I could pass him in the last corner. :D Great race that was.

Definitely hope the next A-spec seasonal that we get on the 25th will be like this one. :D

Having done this race a bunch of times now with a lot of different cars it's quite funny how bad the PP system is. I can win by over 20 seconds in the FTO LM Race Car which is at 560PP but I cant get close to winning in the Nissan GT-R GT3 which is detuned(!) to 600PP. The difference in the weather can play a factor, but usually it doesn't affect the race much if you're doing two stops. If you try and do one stop then you need the rain to last an extra lap which it sometimes does, or you need the car to be easy on tyres so you can run on inters for the first 7 laps then pit. I think I could win in the Opel Calibra if it rained as hard as possible and for as long as possible, in the dry it ruins the tyres way too quickly and isn't quite fast enough to compete with the AI.

The difference in pace between the Super GT cars doesn't reflect the PP either, I ran my second quickest lap time in what should be the slowest car as it's got the lowest PP.

One car I'm curious about is the Senna F3 car, if you didn't pit at all I wonder if it could be fast enough.

Long time since we saw such a hard endurance event!! The tyre wear is ridiculous and so is the sudden change in weather and water in the surface... :boggled: You have to have spot on tyres for each moment. I think the best is to start on inters, pit on the end of 4th lap, put on full wet tyres, pit on the end of 7th lap and put racing soft tyres until the end. The last laps doesnt rain and the track goes from 80% wet to 0% in a matter of 1 lap () and if you have inters or wet tires when the track is try, the tyres are gone in NOTHING. Crazy.

I used the Toyota TS030 Hybrid, works better than other LMP because of its lower PP.

Historically Racing Softs were the best option regardless of rain as they have more grip than either of the Rain tires. Has that changed?
This all depends if the grip setting is set to "low" or "real". You can see/change that in online options, but its hidden here. In this case it must be set to real because when it rains its very slippery (as it should be) therefore with wet surface, intermediate or wet tyres seem to work best.

Had a much easier time and win in the 4wd GTR R35 than I did in the HSV (anniv). Started on RS, pitted end of lap 3 and went to inters. These lasted till the end and I won with a 16 second margin... my best win at this yet!

I added the stage 3 turbo, lowered and slightly softened the car, changed camber to zero, reduced rear toe, reduced downforce a little, power reduction to get to 600pp, and set gears to hit max of around 165. It was very stable throughout the race... not one spin.. just two tiny slides, but those did help cornering.

I then tried in the Ford RS200 for a laugh... it was too slippery so I quit and took it around the Nordschleife in the dry to make myself feel better :D

First tried the intermediate trick with the Jaguar XJ13 '66 I just won in the overtake challenge. I became last with 1 round behind all other 15 cars..
Second run with the HSV like most off you here. Take the pit lane in round 6 for new intermediates and rounded the track slightly above the 2 min. Because the pit stops of others I climbed from 8 to second position and just before the end of round 9 I overtook the leading car. Indeed easy win.
The third attempt I succeed to break the 2 min barrier with one or two seconds in several laps. But just before the finish, actually in the last corner before the finish, in a attempt to set the last two cars one round behind, Number 15 pushed me in a spin resulting in second place and half the credits...

So if you go for the cash don't try to be a hero till the end..

@ crowhop Racing tyres are still the best option for wet tracks in the other A-Spec races (Used the new Chaparral in Le Mans 24 minute and it was same as ever on slicks), I thionk they have tweaked it for this event. Good thing IMHO, seems mental to me having slicks more responsive than rain and inters in inclement weather conditions. :)

With 1 pitstop and intermediates you will sufer much more and you will need to be much more careful with saving tires, at least from my exp.

Thats what I said, in this game there are two settings for this tarmac grip thing: low (arcade) and real (realistic) the offline career mode races are set default in low, while in this seasonal event are put in real, and you can put whatever you want in online races.

edit: ops double post.

Nissan GT-R GT500 Base Model 08 --- PR 600
COOL RACE!!! 1st - +9sec

NO AID ABS 0, all 0.

Not with the TS because of its weight(only 900 KG), I tried this one pit stop strategy with other GT500 class cars and all failed big time. But at the end of the day I had a very easy time with the TS.

HSV Base model, IM tires, making them last 6 laps really is beneficial, as after pitting end of lap 5 on the first try I baloney-skinned the left front on the last lap, limping home with a 1 second win. Much easier pitting after lap 6.

The Furai is the car to use if you don't plan on stopping. Light on the pedals and int tires will get it done. Tires were about half worn at the end. Not sure how much fuel was left. Give it a go.

Won with the 15th Anniversary Quattro. First 3 laps on Softs then Inters to the end. Last lap was a bit sketchy but won by half a second.

thx for setup! those fn idiots made SRF mandatory so i couldnt use my wet setup i worked so hard to tune. i did soft tyres then pit after 3 laps then IM to finish.. and wow the AI took me out twice and then went off track on the next turn both times... maybe if you keep blocking them they go super aggro lol..

I gave this a go in the Furai simply because I love the car so it had to be done. I did a two stop race starting on RS with 1:56 laps and pitting at end of the 3rd for IM's then doing 2:02 laps until pitting again for RS at end of lap 8 and doing a 1:52 on my final lap, total time was 21:13.xxx and the gap to 2nd was some 22 seconds over the Calsonic IMPUL GT-R. :D

I first tried the Supra GT 500 Base Model, and had a bad time. I first could not figure out if it was my tune, or what.

Swapped to the HSV and won easily first try.

Not surprised by that huge contrast. Supra just ate up tires and guzzle gas slightly quicker, and couldn't stick like the HSV around corners.

Hmmm, I haven't tried it but maybe you can save it to a usb and then upload it to your PC and then on youtube?

As far as I find out, I need a video capture card (or something like that) but I don't know if it works the way you say.

Somebody?

Oh, by the way, I found this video, is the full race.

@ nowcontrol. Have to agree. the Furai is a great car and fun to drive. I recently bought it for the Laguna event. Not sure why it took me so long to grab it. Had it on GT5. Will be using it more often now.
