Liking the Eagles blackout look, would like it better if the NFL gave up on the stupid 1 helmet per year rule :grumpy:

The ruling on the field is a HR has been awarded to the goalie. He gets two foul shots.

*Referee sees a penalty at the line, waits until they score the 50 yard touchdown to throw the flag* #falsehope
"Due to the potato in the net, the ruling on the field is a par, 6 grand slams awarded to the man in the blue hat."

I would like to point out the double standards of NFL officiating. If you still don't think that they target the Seahawks, you need to open your eyes.

On one play, pre-snap, we had a lot of players going in motion. A Cowboy then jumps way offsides, however according to the official "Although the defender was offsides, false start offense." .... say what?

So later in the game, when our guy jumps offsides and gets back without a snap, they decide to blow it dead and call offsides. How is that consistent?

Then on a deep passing attempt the announcer points out "You can see he defenders hands on the face mask before the ball gets there, but I agree it shouldn't have been called." Wait..... excuse me?

And at the end of the game on Seattle's last 4th down there was clearly holding, followed by blatant taunting. Neither of which drew a flag.

And don't even get me started on last week's center head-bob false start. You know, the move that every center does on every shotgun snap.

So I guess the Bills aren't the only targeted team?

Call an unsportsmanlike conduct for patting a teammate on the back after the tackle.

Call a pass interference on a WR who gets caught in traffic and runs into two defenders(and was away from the play), without even pushing them out of the way...it called back a 40-60yd play to get in the redzone.

Hesitate on calling penalties against the Patriots'. Brandon Spikes was just standing there, gesturing for the refs to throw the flag for like 3 seconds on a false start on a field goal, and the refs didn't call it until the ball was in the air.

Rob Gronkowski can push off of a cornerback(past 5 yds), but Robert Woods can't?

Its like every time the Bills' had a good play, a flag was thrown.

Safe to say that it's a bad night to be a fan of the Bills, the Jets, or the Giants. I especially say its a bad night to be a Giants fan since, well, they basically haven't really shown up at all tonight against the Eagles.

49ers at Rams TONIGHT!

The NFC West is in vogue and on display tonight. Last night saw an NFC East match which involved the cremation of the New York Giants at Philadelphia. Will a similar fate happen in the Gateway to the Midwest to either to the 3-2 San Francisco 49ers or the 1-3 St. Louis Rams... which used to be the Los Angeles Rams? Either way, we got ourselves a ball game tonight!

For betting folk, SF is favored by 3 with an over/under of 43.5 tonight. Good luck to both SF and STL.

Let's go Niners!

And anyone in the St. Louis, pick up some tickets on Stub Hub. They are dirt cheap.

EDIT: They have gone up in prices from the $8-11 I was seeing on there last week.

Out of curiosity, what are the tickets going for now?

That's actually about what I paid for the tickets to watch the Tigers play at Comerica Park. I don't think I'd pay to watch the Lions at Ford Field though (yet) because I'm still a little shaky about how they'll play if I go.

I love those blue and gold colors for the Rams like what STL is wearing tonight. I like their usual blue and gold colors. Some of you probably know I love blue and gold anyways- kind of like with the Navy's Blue Angels. I personally like St. Louis' uniforms the most of any NFL team. When I usually think of the Rams, I usually think of Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, and Torry Holt.

This post was just a random musing I wanted to share while this game is going on.

The San Francisco 49ers won 31-17 at the St. Louis Rams on Monday Night Football. SF improves to 4-2 while STL falls to 1-4. And with that, another week of NFL action is complete.

The Rams need to stick with the blue and yellow uniforms and ditch the navy and gold. The blue and yellow look sharp and absolutely pop on screen. In comparison, the navy and gold are dull and boring.

Oh and the 49ers won. That is awesome.

I agree with you on the notion of the older colors popping. I was looking on Instagram, and the blue and yellow colors appeared rich, which I love. I do like the modern navy and gold colors, but those vintage colors are amazing.

I know last year or so, I even preferred the Powder Blue colors for San Diego than I do their modern colors. I even heard some time ago the Eagles may go back to their vintage green and white colors. I do love that Midnight Green.

Vintage works, people. Only as long as it isn't those horrendous bumblebee uniforms of the Pittsburgh Steelers- which they will wear in an upcoming game later this season.

Just read on the internet that NRL player Jarryd Hayne has left the NRL is going to try and play in the NFL.

What do all the resident Aussie readers think of this move?

I wonder what position he will play and which team he'll go to.

P.S Go Saints :P Hope they can improve their record though :(

How does he compare to Hayden Smith down there? I know he was an Aussie that tried to make it in the NFL, but didn't.

I haven't heard of Hayden Smith, but Jarryd Hayne is/was one of the best players in the NRL for awhile - his position in that game is fullback so essentially returning kicks.

So his position will most likely be RB/FB and return punts.

He's got quite the athletic mold - 187cm packing 100kg.

Apparently he's training over the next 12 months to prepare for next season - I don't think he would quit the NRL without having strong interest from NFL teams.

I can't see Hayne making it. It's hard enough for guys that have played the game since they were young to get into the NFL let alone someone who's never played it and will be 27(?) next year. Gutsy move by the guy though, wish him the best of luck with it.

Edit: For those who obviously haven't seen Hayne, I found this nice montage video.

He's pretty much a household name down here. He's been tipped for a tryout with Seattle as a punt returner.

It's a question of how well his skills line up with what's needed in the NFL. I don't follow League, but I do know that he is one of the top players - he's been a part of the Kangaroos, the national team, for a while now.

Ready for a new week? If not, then get psyched for tonight's game. It's an AFC East clash between Blitz24 and kjb's 1-5 New York Jets at the 4-2 New England Patriots. Favored by 9.5 is NE over NYJ.

Good luck to all of your teams this week.

Hayne is gonna get ruined in pads. Nobody is tackling him in Rugby because they don't want to get run over. In Football, his tacklers are going to literally smash into him instead of trying to grab/tackle.

Not to mention he's not going to have elite speed in pads. And he runs completely upright. He is going to get destroyed in the NFL.

Does anyone think that Peyton Manning will be able to set the all time record for touchdown passes this week against the 49ers? If yes, do you have any guesses on who will receive the record breaking catch? I don't think that the Defense will let him get it, but I think he will tie the record this week.

The Lions are playing the Saints. I really hope that they can win since New Orleans is still down at the present. I just hope that the Panthers can stop the Packers this week.

Ha! That won't happen, have you seen the Panthers secondary? Complete rubbish, Rodgers is going to have a field day throwing against no one. Doesn't get any easier for Carolina following that, Seattle then New Orleans. Can't see them winning any of those.

I'm really disappointed that Peyton will break Favre's records(unless he gets a season ending injury, which won't happen) considering that I'm a huge Favre fan.

I don't think Hayne would swap codes without appreciating the differences. While discussing it, he has never expressed the expectation of walking into a team. He will know he has to adapt.

He runs upright because if you take the hunched position used in NFL, you're asking for a neck injury. And unlike NFL, it's not one guy with the ball and everyone trying to cut a path - you have to sight your team-mates to pass on to them.

Well my Jets look good tonight. It is amazing what happens when you run the ball more than 11 times the whole game. I didn't like the onside kick at the end of the game but other than I feel like they play a really good game if they can play like that more often tehy might win some more games. After this their schedule gets much easier and expect them to win a few more games.

I feel like the best thing that could happen to Rex Ryan is to leave New York. I think he's sort of stuck in a John Fox situation. If he goes somewhere with a QB, he's going to be highly successful.

What if he gets fired by NY and becomes the next coach of the 49ers? His personality is so Raiders, but Harbaugh is going to be the head coach of the Raiders, Dolphins, or Stanford Cardinal next season. There is no way he's leaving the bay area unless Steve Ross gives him an offer he can't refuse.
