Best Wembley game yet today. Such an intense finish.
Realistically the delay of game that the Lions caused should have ended the game, but the way it was meant the Falcons season is almost a write-off.
Damn it. I just want the Packers to win the North.

The Texans trashed Tennessee. 30-16 victory for my Texans as we finally saw Arian Foster emerge and become the player he can be once he's in the zone. And man- three touchdowns by Arian Foster is just enough to solidify the win. We're back home next Sunday to host Philadelphia.

By the way... today's game for the Texans marked the 200th game played in franchise history.

Elsewhere...

* A great game of football was played in Wembley Stadium as AnthonyD1993's Detroit Lions won over the Atlanta Falcons. The kitties from MoTown cleaned up the Dirty Birds from the ATL. I think DET is now 6-2 on the season with this win, and I think Atlanta would love to keep playing against Tampa Bay the rest of the season (like that Thursday Night evisceration earlier this season) to get their win total up. Speaking of Tampa Bay...

* FOX had bonus coverage after I saw the HOU at TEN game, and they showed Minnesota at Tampa Bay. Justin's Vikings forced Overtime. Into the Overtime, Tampa Bay fumbled and recovered by the Vikings to seal the game 19-13.

* What happened when Florida's other two NFL teams went at it? Omnis' Miami Dolphins went up along the Atlantic coastline to Jacksonville. They won 27-13 at Jacksonville. So the Dolphins are the only Florida team to win today.

* sumbrownkid's Chicago Bears got roughed up at the New England Patriots. This seemed more like New England vs. Northwestern University they way they got beat down. CHI fell hard- like, 51-23 hard. Here's a Tweet I read:

"The Chicago Bears are a disgrace......led by their QB Jay Cutler. Just pathetic." -Stephen A. Smith

Sad times for Chi-Town's NFL team...

Congratulations to all other winners, including The Legion of Boom (Seattle Seahawks) winning 13-9 at the Carolina Panthers. As of this post, IND at PIT is on, and those ugly-ass Bumblebee uniforms are on the Steelers. Pittsburgh... please... STOP THE PAIN!

The game should be like 52-17. Jets have no business playing anyone. At this point they have no QB and no secondary. Harvin does nothing if there's no QB. Sad thing is that the HC will get axed and it's not entirely his fault.
If they get rid of Rex, Idzik needs to go as well because he assembled this team

This. He made that team, and he's ultimately liable for the results it produces. Rex will ultimately be blamed for the losses, but Idzik's poor management lead to poor showings in games.

Agreed to both. They will blame Ryan for this and some of it is his fault, but not all of it is his fault. Yet they will make all of it his fault because Idzik has only been here a year and a half. If the Jets don't do better next year than they did in 2013, then Idzik is out. There is NO excuse to not sign anyone in a salary capped league.

I agree wholeheartedly. I don't like some of the things Rex does but he shouldn't take full responsibility for this mess. I wish Woody Johnson would focus on getting the right people in place to run his team and stop trying to steal the headlines from the Giants. You want dominate the headlines win a couple of Superbowls.

Well I didn't see the game today as I had to work, so I didn't see the PI call against Smith. I'm just glad the Bengals got the win. They tried to blow it. It sounds like they should have blown it twice if not for the ref's call.

Now if the Saints would keep the lead against the Packers- that would be great.

The Saints did keep the lead. They beat the Packers 44-23 to remain undefeated at home. This is good for me as a Lions fan since Detroit now has sole possession of the NFC North lead.

Yeah I'm rooting for the Lions to take the North. The only way my Bears can make the playoffs is in Madden 15.

I like to think that there's an alternate universe where Tom Thibodeau also coaches the Bears.

The Lions are actually playing with heart and fire. Trestman can't even light a cigarette.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I would have never expected the Bears of teams to suddenly fall from grace. It's depressing to think that an NFC Stalwart is not only irrelevant, but the Bears are tied for last in the division and are winless at Solider Field. The team is way to talented to be 3-5 at this point in the season- especially since Minnesota is still in rebuilding mode. Jay Cutler has been utterly garbage for most of the year and the defense decided to play hide and seek. It's a shame. It really is.

Should've hired Bruce Arians...

Or kept Lovie Smith. Either way, it's kind of like the Lions considering either Ken Whisenhunt or Jim Caldwell. Whiz wanted to go to the Titans, so we picked up Caldwell. At the end of the day, the Lions have good record currently, the Titans don't. It's just the nature of the beast. I think the Bears will go 6-10 at the worst. If they get lucky, they might go 9-7.

I just looked at Oakland's schedule, and it certainly looks like they'll be 0-10. Wilson, Peyton Manning, and Rivers will have a field day with the Raiders. When look at the whole remainder of the season instead of the next three games, the best chance that the Raiders have to avoid going 0-16 is the Rams.

Redskins at Cowboys TONIGHT!

How 'bout them Cowboys? Ohio State fans usually call Michigan as "that school up north." Well, as a native Houstonian, "that team up north" is 6-1 on the season. The Dallas Cowboys are looking to improve to 7-1 when their 2-5 divisional foe Washington comes to town. Dallas is ready to rock at their fancy pants huge stadium. Who'll win the game in Arlington, TX? Tonight's match will determine who will finish tonight with a win.

DAL is favored on the line by 10, and the over/under is 49.

By the way... have you seen "First Take" today? Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless were ripping the New York Jets over their woes this season. Almost like a rabid dog ravaging and biting into and ravaging something. Crazy stuff.

The bears will never win a superbowl with mentally fragile players like Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler as leaders. They're great when they're winning. As soon as they have a losing record, they melt down and fall apart.

I won't say mentally fragile. Marshall has been rather strong-willed ever since he came to Chicago. What he definitely is, is that he is frustrated and I would be too if I were on a stacked team and yet we produce crap. Cutler is....well what's the point we all know who he is and how he is like.

But the sad part is that Cutler is definitely the best QB the Bears have ever had since Jim McMahon.

If it's anyone that deserves to be really mentally fragile it's Matt Forte. He is without a doubt one of the best RBs in the game, and yet that mook Trestman under utilizes him so much. He has been our only consistent positive on this team, and it's a damn shame his prime years are being wasted.

Emery should seriously consider firing Trestman once this team flops out of the race for the playoffs. Him and Tucker.

Half of the issue is management. What use is Percy Harvin when you are 1-6? What about the defense? You have a front 7 that's good but the problem is that the secondary is non-existent. They don't make plays, they make penalties or get torched. They have no corner backs. Wilson and Millner are jokes. They also have no QB and the offensive line is completely out of balance due to the fact that they don't have practices with both QBs to keep them both fresh. Smith is wild and inaccurate and cannot make smart decisions to help keep a drive going. The offense is completely uncoordinated. How often have you seen a team waste 2 of it's 6 timeouts in a game because they cannot get a play off and have to call a timeout to avoid a delay of game?

It's almost like the management wants to put egg on the face of the head coach by allowing this to happen. First there's a circus and now there's useless drama.

I don't watch First Take anymore since they are biased and hop on/off the bandwagon on certain teams all the time. (But then again, who at ESPN doesn't these days?)

But it's more like a pack of wolves attacking a hospital full of babies.

This isn't the score that I thought I'd see at this point of the game. I get that it's a division rivalry, but even this isn't what I thought I'd see.

Almost every team has played at least eight games. So before the week starts with New Orleans at Carolina, here is a Standings update:

--- AFC ---
AFC EAST: New England (6-2), BUF (5-3), MIA (4-3), NYJ (1-7)
AFC NORTH: Cincinnati (4-2-1), BAL and PIT (5-3 each), CLE (4-3)
AFC SOUTH: Indianapolis (5-3), HOU (4-4), TEN (2-6), JAX (1-7)
AFC WEST: Denver (6-1), SD (5-3), KC (4-3), OAK (0-7)

--- NFC ---
NFC EAST: Dallas (6-2), PHI (5-2), NYG (3-4), WSH (3-5)
NFC NORTH: Detroit (6-2), GB (5-3), CHI and MIN (3-5 each)
NFC SOUTH: Carolina (3-4-1), NO (3-4), ATL (2-6), TB (1-6)
NFC WEST: Arizona (6-1), SF and SEA (4-3 each), STL (2-5)

It's the halfway point for most teams. There's still plenty of time to make up ground if your team is trailing. Already good teams have to keep up their good form and not fade down the stretch. And don't forget about the special Wild Card battle. Who will improve? Who will fade? Plenty of season left. But now, it's time to get a bit more serious with the second half of the season set to start for most teams.

Good luck to all teams moving forward.

[UPDATE] GB record edited. Mistakenly had them at 3-5.
