If the Raiders were in the NFC South, they'd still be in the hunt for the division lead.

I was just about to mention the NFC South. I take a lot comfort in the fact that everyone in the division is a mess, not just Carolina.

ATL: 4-7-0
NO: 4-7-0
CAR: 3-7-1
TB: 2-9-0

A great idea. One I'm for. But it would give a horrible image to the NFL. "Our teams can be beat by some teenagers chasing tail" isn't really a promotional slogan to latch on to.

The latter half of my post wouldn't realistically happen, but the former would still work. Even still, if the latter does become a part of it, the worst NFL team would statistically be far superior to the best college team.

Have you seen the Raiders? Or the Bucs? Now compare that to a top NCAA program. No contest in my eye. The teens chasing tail would get the job done.

You have to remember, the best college teams have at most 10 NFL players, while every NFL team has 53 NFL players. Also, SB Nation did a similar thing where they tried to find out whether Kentucky today could beat the Philadelphia 76ers (A team so bad, that in the remaining 69 games they have scheduled, they are favored in none of them) in a 7 game series

But you have to think, how many NFL players does an NFL team have it anymore? Can you tell me how many the Raiders have? I doubt it's 10 that still have a love for the game. I doubt it's 10 still giving it their best. I'd rather have a team 50 NFL hopefuls then a team full of "what could have beens" .

If the Raiders can get Derek Carr some receivers, the team might be going places in the future. The guy has had to carry the team on his back as a rookie, and so far, he's held up to the pressure of it.

To be honest, NFL teams have 53 NFL players. The BIGGEST issue with facing college kids off vs. the NFL is that out of all of the players on the college team, probably 75% of them would be in over their heads even for one game. A freshman against a 3rd year NFL player? Yeah, that's not going to end well.

Exactly my point. One player carrying one half, if not all of a team, by himself. A group of kids that want to prove themselves is a much more dangerous weapon.

I don't agree with a NFL team having that many NFL players. Maybe ten years ago;, sure. 20, hands down. But the level of gameplay has dropped, in my opinion. Because the level of the average player had dropped. But, that's my viewpoint. I just think it would be a better game then most would think.

It's a different ballgame, college vs. the pros. Some of the things done in college, with the trickery and all that, would never be sustainable against an NFL team. Another thing to realize is that the NFL is (supposedly) a level playing field due to the salary cap (of course, teams choosing not to spend to the limit eliminate that equality). While it is a sign of parity, the college teams will never have it that way. On a given week maybe 5 of the 65 or so games meeting will truly pit two teams that are nearly equal to each other, against each other.

Do you consider the Raiders vs. the Broncos a level playing field? I don't.

Or Miami vs. Denver? Their cap numbers are nearly the same.

The only college teams that would potentially have a shot are teams that play in traditional pro-style offenses like Alabama. We all saw how bad the Wildcat went after teams figured it out (and other styles of spread offense would probably have the same effect). The only way that spread teams could survive is if they had a monster Defense, and most of the time, they don't since the offense is the unit that is most often on the field.

Anyway, my Lions will be playing the Bears for a Thanksgiving NFC North showdown. I hope that Detroit can get the W to solidify at least an 8-8 season. Speaking of wins, this year is shaping up to possibly be a year that an 8 win team could be mid pack in the NFL standings. Who would have thought?

EDIT: Regarding the Bills- the Bills are planning on the Browns game being a true home game. They have a lot of work to do to get Ralph Wilson Stadium ready, but they think that they can get it done.

EDIT 2:
Richard Sherman is back with some help from Doug Baldwin. This video is epic! He's probably going to be fined for this, but I think that his point is spot on.

Some people would say that today is the ONLY Thursday that matters as far as Thursday NFL football is concerned. Three games are on tap. Enjoy you some football today! And most importantly, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families.

It was 34-17 in Detroit as the Detroit Lions doubled up the Chicago Bears. AnthonyD1993's Lions ballin', sumbrownkid's Bears... not so much. Detroit actually has a favorable schedule moving forward. I think they have in order: Tampa Bay, Minnesota, at Chicago, and at Green Bay. Three straight teams with losing records before taking on the Packers at Lambeau Field to close out the season. Chicago, meanwhile... they have an uphill battle if they want to make any kind of postseason run. They'll perhaps need the proverbial "wing and a prayer" for them to make it into the Playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles at the Dallas Cowboys are on deck as of the time of this post.

Some of the teams with a desperate need for a good back might take a chance on him. But if he gets picked up, he will certainly be on a very, very tight leash.

If it were the Bengals of old, they'd pick him up in a heartbeat. Luckily nowadays they don't generally pick up the problem players and criminals. Plus they've got a good running back tandem at the moment.

He'd probably fit right in with the Raiders.

Don't be shocked if a team in the hunt for the playoffs decides to give him a shot. He might actually be sought after by a team that needs a run game boost.

According to one thing I read online, the Indianapolis Colts seemed to be the "likely" team for Ray Rice. Think he'll be an upgrade to the Colts? Or where else would he be a great fit?

Sign him to the Jets, run the Option every play, who needs passing when you've got 3 capable RB's + Vick + Harvin
This is not so much vindication for Ray Rice as it is damning for Roger Goodell. Goodell needs to go and Rice will never play in the NFL again.

Michael Vick sucks.
You're not wrong

Ray Rice got into a fight with a woman.

Michael Vick made bitches fight for amusement.

Supposedly, the San Francisco 49ers might consider trading Jim Harbaugh to another team via draft pick. He hasn't signed an extension to the 49ers, and it is said that both the Raiders and Jets are interested parties. On a side I also wonder if the University of Michigan will try to lobby for Jim as well. While I myself would like to see him go to the Wolverines, I have a feeling that he'd take a job at another NFL team before considering going back to college.
