This final week of the NFL season will have all games played on Sunday. Last week was the last of the non-Sunday games. Last chance to make a playoff push if you're still in it! Or... it could be a chance to help your NFL draft chances. Either way, the future is now.

As a playoff assessment, my Texans need lots of help if they want to make the playoffs (which I doubt they will make it). Before anything, the Texans MUST beat Jacksonville. It's JAC at HOU. If HOU wins, then San Diego must lose at Kansas City, and Baltimore must lose to Cleveland. A wing and a prayer will be needed for Houston to make the playoffs. I don't see us getting in. And if we did, we won't last long. But as they say... stranger things have happened. So we'll see what happens.

Good luck to all of your teams this week.

Here is something that is a bit easier to read:

In Dallas' case, we need for the Seahawks to lose as well as Arizona to earn a first round bye. Anything else we are the third seed.

Your team must win. That/Those team(s) must lose. Playoffs... when you care about other teams you otherwise don't care much about. From playoff entry to clinching divisions, wild cards, or first-round byes... this is the last chance to make a playoff push if your team(s) still have a chance to make the postseason this season.

On the other hand, this can be one last chance for eliminated teams to get some NFL Draft help. I think Tampa Bay will get the first overall pick if they lose today.

I sincerely doubt my Texans will make the playoffs. But no matter who you root for and who you want to see get beat, good luck to all of your teams this final day of the regular season.

There is no what if, for the Jets if they lose and the teams around them win.

The Houston Texans won 23-17 against Jacksonville just now, but their season is over since Baltimore beat Cleveland 20-10. San Diego lost at Kansas City. Texans needed to win AND have Baltimore and San Diego lose. Still, the Texans finish this season 9-7. I didn't think the Texans would get in anyways. So I'm not as sad about this season coming to an end and in seeing the Ravens get in. Great job by the Texans all season long.

Congratulations to all other winners and all others who clinched something postseason-wise. Congrats also to other winners, including (to Omnis' dismay), the New York Jets beating the Miami Dolphins at Miami.

I really hope Cincy wins tonight so we (Ravens) get to play them a third time, and make things right :-)

Back to back playoffs appearances for the first time in Carolina's history and the first ever back to back NFC South Champs. 👍 Did not expect them to blow out Atlanta like that though.

I figured they would beat Atlanta but I thought it would come down to the wire. Why didn't my Jets play like this all year. Geno almost looked like a real QB. Hopefully they can find a good gm. They should have close to 40-5 mil under the cap depending on how high the cap goes up

Depends who the coach and who the GM is. All that is known is that it WON'T be Idzik.

Good luck to JH, wherever he goes, the 49ers are stupid for letting him go after all the success he brought to SF. I'm going to miss him, and that's coming from a Hawks fan. Seattle fans may rib the guy, but we all respect him for the great coach that he is. I wonder what Kaepernick is thinking now.

As for the Hawks, we'll enjoy this first round Bye and wait for our turn. Will it be Detroit, Arizona or Green Bay?

If they didn't the Ravens would play the Steelers? Not sure how to system works but I hope Steelers! Simply because it's the best rivalry in the NFL.

Don't get your hopes up. Bengals are going to lose tonight and take a beating at Indy next week.

Whoever wins the game gets the Ravens at home. Whoever loses goes to Indy.

Seems to be a tradition. Wasn't it last year that Santonio Holmes quit on the team in the first half against the Dolphins?

Well Christmas came a little bit late for Jet fans; Jets announced on their twitter page that Rex Ryan and Joh Idzik have been fired. Do get me wrong I liked Rex but it was time for him to go and I thought outside of clearing cap space Idzik did a terrible job. According to Ian Rapoport " Four names #Jets hope to interview for GM: George Paton (Vikings), Ryan Pace (Saints), Trent Kirchner (Seahawks), Will McClay (Cowboys)"

Christmas gifts came to the Bear's faithful.

Both Emery and Trestman were fired. Now for the search for a new GM and HC. Surprised that Tucker still has his job however.

It is said that Detroit Lion N. Suh will be suspended one game for stomping on Aaron Rodgers' leg in the Detroit at Green Bay game. Suh will appeal.

I'm still wondering how San Diego lost to an Alex Smith-less Chiefs. Andy Reid is doing more of that wizard stuff up in Kansas City.

He wasn't called the "dirtiest player in the league" as voted on by his peers for nothing you know. He has no case.

I know that everyone is harping on the NFC South since they are the ones who sent in a playoff team with a losing record. But what if I tell you that there is another division that was so bad this year they, along with the NFC South, allowed three teams from the same division to make the playoffs? The division that I speak of is of course the AFC South.

Here is how the NFL scheduling department is supposed to work. Every year, you are supposed to have home and away games with your division and a AFC/NFC division to make up about half the season. The rest of the schedule is to be filled with conference games.

The AFC North, which fielded the most teams in the playoffs this year at 3, Pittsburg, Baltimore, and Cincinnati, played the NFC South this year, which yielded a astonishing record, when combined with the performance of the Detroit Lions, of 10-1-1 when playing against that division, and 21-15 against the rest of the league.

But what does that have to do with the AFC South? Statistics show that this year's AFC South is the 16th worst division of all time, and the AFC North played half the season against the two bad divisions.

How often does that happen?

A division gifting four wins away doesn't happen very often, but when it does, you will remember it. It happens about once or twice every ten years.

I'm not expecting a win from Carolina, but I'll just remind everyone that the last team to enter the playoffs with a losing record upset the defending champs. Oh, and we also had the best run in NFL history to go along with it.
