Really love the works Evo X.

Can't wait, hopefully the photomode is better than the first.

"SMS" are known with their very accurate tracks from GTR2 and GT Legends, so I hope their Bathurst will be as accurate, too. :)

Some nice photos and a good point 👍

Plus, if you look at, say, this video:

The Nordschleife looks narrower than it seems to be in GT5, so a lot of it really is due to the perception, not the actual modelling of the track - as the aerial shots posted by logos point out nicely.

Seems amar212, our resident 'width expert' has gone curiously silent....

Haters got to hate, I suppose, even when there's nothing out TO hate!

Wow tire wear is in? I'm almost sure it was a non starter and dismissed.

Oh well good news.

The latest info about Shift 2 on speedhunters.com is amazing! :D

Great photos too! :D

Tire pressure, temperature, 3D tire deformation and tire wear included! I guess that means we must take care of our tires during the race! Great stuff! And 900 degrees steering animation! :D

Unfortunately today my Logitech Driving Force died... :(
It lost the force feedback effects that inform you about tire slip and grip...
It's amazing how much difference force feedback does but the wheel is useless now...
I must get another, probably a DFGT.

Anyway I can't wait for Shift 2 and for a new DFGT! :) ;)

Slight whiff of a few dlc hints in that article:

Classic car/track pack
Possible touge pack
Other new "modes"

Interesting...

A good drag racing mode would be nice for those of us who grew up in the south hearing the roar of the drag strip 3 miles away on a nice summer night! I was very let down by the drag mode in one of the previous NFS games, I know its a circuit racing game but they have drifting, so why not have a mode to give the classic cars something to do?

The wheels that the game has been confirmed to have support for are:

PS3

Nascar Racing Wheel
Logitech Driving Force
Logitech Driving Force EX
Logitech Driving Force Pro
Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
Logitech G27 Racing Wheel – full support for all buttons
Logitech Driving Force GT
Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S (and similar models)
Thurstmaster F430 FFB
Thurstmaster RGT FFB Clutch

X360

Microsoft Force Feedback Wheel and compatible wheels (eg, Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S and similar, Logitech DriveFhttp://www.kptv.com/entertainment/27106662/detail.htmlX, etc).

PC

Logitech G27 Racing Wheel – full support for all buttons
Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
Logitech Driving Force GT
Logitech Formula Force EX
Logitech Driving Force
Logitech Driving Force EX
Logitech Driving Force RX
Logitech Driving Force Pro
Logitech MOMO Force
Logitech MOMO Racing
Thrustmaster RGT FFB Pro Clutch
Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience
Thrustmaster Ferrari 430
Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S (and similar models)

I found this information from the latest post on Speedhunters, which is in general a really interesting article.

Source Link

P.S. I was mentioned in it :P

Thanks for the info! Do you know if the Logitech Driving Force Wireless will be supported? I assume so because it seems like most Logitech products are. Thanks!

Oh man, this game is just too friggen awesome. Can't wait! So glad that they seem to be doing their homework unlike the other 'two'. Those other 'two' should be taking notes.

Good job with the updates guys. Shift FTMFW.

Notice how the rubber on the tire deforms from the forces against the asphalt. This game is headed for something great.

well sorryMclaren i don t look at this forum everyday been working alot latley. I just found out yesterday about the GT5 glitch. I just have a life outside gaming more than usual right now sorry. THe WTH- What the Hell is just me expressing that i am happy that this is gonna happen.
I never said you had to, so you can drop your attitude.

Your post followed by "WTH" is also not one normally associated with as a "happy" thought, instead of a negative one.

When racers say Bathurst is narrow, it's describing the usable racing line. Due to camber changes, walls etc there are sections where cars must drive single file. However, the actual track width is far from narrow, there are just sections they may never get driven on.

Good question, I was wondering the same thing.

They do have those little quarter mile ovals, you could easily do 99 laps on one set of tyres on those.

I'm guessing that you just have to look after your tyres, and when they're shot you just have to drive on slippery, wrecked tyres. I'm guessing that's why they've got the endurances in game as being about 30-45 minutes, because that will be about how long the tyres will last if you look after them.

Of course, they could have some sneaky method for changing the tyres that isn't pit stops. But I'd be surprised.

Destinkeys, excuse me?

I really find your post insulting.

I do not have the need to justify my posting because all my posts, comments and criticism comes in a positive manner of someone who wants Shift 2 to be the best it can.

I have full right to be disappointed if some things I find very important in my book - and one of them is track accuracy - are not met. If at the end comes out that increased width of the track in all videos we have seen is result of very wide FOV, I'll be very happy.

But please do not move sarcastic and smart on me because it is beyond any acceptable manners.

I didn't call you names, why are you calling me?

Thank you for your attention, regards.

How beautiful.

I don't mind what people can do with engine swaps and drivetrain swaps, as long as there is a Lobby filter for them..

TBH, the thing I have heard the LEAST about in this game is exactly how picky the Lobby system is going to let you be.

See, we agree here. Looking forward to any info regarding online execution, there have ben none except for Autolog implementation.

Sorry, amar, but you were adamant about how wide Shift 2's Bathurst is... Did you miss the pictures a few pages ago of overhead shots of the very section you talked about? It is plain that, in the section you claim is only two cars wide can quite comfortably fit FOUR?

Here are few aerial views of Bathurst:

Looks like the track is not that narrow, after all. :)

There are at least 3 - 4 car widths at the narrowest sections of the track, IMO.

I think, that the "wide tracks problem" is just a different field of view between the game and IRL. Looks like "SMS" are using 30-50 degrees FOV for Bathurst (and Nordschleife) in game onboards, and the camera FOV of IRL onboards, is more like 70-90 degrees.

"SMS" are known with their very accurate tracks from GTR2 and GT Legends, so I hope their Bathurst will be as accurate, too. :)

All those real-life tracks are just too wide. Period.

Spa in the first Shift.

Now we have Bathurst, Nordschelife, Road America and Monza - all with more than 1/3 widened all sections. So, pretty much all real-life tracks so far have been widened.

100% pure crap. I can't believe anyone can defend such stupid move, how on Earth can you expect the racing to be fun and challenging if all important configurations of every famous track has been altered and made redundant?

What kind of minds at Slightly Mad thought of that? And how on Earth can they say this:

Authentic?

Why do I need such "control" if the tracks are not those who need such a control?

For what? Flat-out Eau Rouge? Unexisting fear of Bergwerk? Dipper that is wide as Singapore? This is load of crap, I will buy the Shift 2 for my collection, but this is greatest crap I have seen in the genre for such a long time.

"Simulation" you say Sightly Mad? Yeah, what a piece of shift simulation this is.

Helps to check your facts before making blanket condemnation like this.

cars with tons of custom kits are amazing, spending hours modding the car will be a pleasure.

U will have to pre-order that the price is the same as for the normal edition (i am speaking for some shops here in the netherlands off course)

I pre-ordered it last month so I'm all set :)

I watched that video link and my god that guy is annoying as hell. The developer and the racer at times are just looking at him like what a twit, and for good reason...

I'm not really sure on the amazon deal because I never have dealt with them, I would say to be safe just contact amazon and ask them to make sure. I pre-ordered mine through gamestop here in the states and once I go pick it up it will have a code in the pre-ordered game that I will just input when I start the game up and the content will be unlocked for me at that time. Some games you can buy the unlock code for certain things like online play, but for special pre-order only deals like this it isn't available unless you pre-order it, it just guarantees new game sales for the company.
