No Data Transfer From 5 to 6 Thanks to Hacking

Does anyone really want a data transfer? Seriously? It's a brand new game. You're cheating by taking cars you got in a different game. Why not enjoy the whole game from the start and earn your way to the top again?

I'm sure some people will say they worked hard for their cars in GT5. Well, yeah, that was GT5. This is GT6.

But hey, that's just my opinion. I don't understand why anyone would want to take all their GT5 cars instead of starting from scratch and playing the game the way it's meant to be played.

I think it's a blessing in disguise. Some people don't know what's best for them. But I guarantee, anyone who's hardcore would enjoy the game much more starting with 0 cars.

I expected some kind of recognition for getting to level 40 in both A and B spec and having more than 1000 cars, both which are almost unrelated to the hacking issue. Oh well.

(btw I haven't got to lvl40 in A spec).

There are methods to get lvl 40 without doing any race.

And i really don't understand what is wrong with this lack of data transfer. It's a new game, go find your way to explore it.

What's the point in buying a new game where you already have 1000 cars, licenses and all leveled up?

Nailed it!

Yeah, you get a trophy, and the availability to buy all the different color X1's!! 👍

Does anyone really want a data transfer? ... Why not enjoy the whole game from the start and earn your way to the top again?...

I and many others, get absolutely no enjoyment out of anything offline. I would welcome a garage transfer as a way of avoiding having to slog through meaningless license tests and terrible AI to get to the only things that really matter to me in the game. Even if the AI were perfect, I would still rather race against humans. Racing online and tuning are about the only things I care about. I'd sure appreciate the option to jump right to that.

New game, new beggining. Data transfer sounds like cheating to me, much like the preorder bonuses...

I don't see people complaining @ Rockstar to have their funds or at least some of their funds to be transferred from GTA IV. I know there are several other examples but its on my mind quite a bit.

I'll take my freedom of creation, personal enjoyment and refreshment of a 2 year old title over a couple of chrome cars that never get driven anyway.

Like someone else pointed out, there was nothing that led us to believe there was going to be data transfer in the first place. I could care less. Play the game from scratch and enjoy it.

I still don't get it. What does respect have to do with stealing something? If you don't respect someone you are likely a criminal?

It's not literally respecting a person, but respecting his properties, creations, his intellectual rights, you know...

Certainly, transferring in-game data from past instalments of the series ruins the treat of exerting yourself to firing up the game from the very scratch to the completion in their own way - which is the most stimulating part of a game and what the developers of a single game might hope its consumers to do hereafter.

but well naturally, restarting a new one from the very beginning means that they're to follow up a harsh course of investing their in-game strenuous efforts all over again, and for most of them it fouls up the precious time in which they had been engaged in beating the bygone ones with all the hands they could hit on.

hence many of those who purchased the sequel numbering one actually choose to take over the savings for fear of not bumbling around what they have done thus far in their own path.

It could still rather easily be implemented; all GT6 would need from your GT5 save is to read your A/B levels and gift you a car or two. It could do the same for licenses, for that matter. A competitor does something similar, gifting cars at the start of a new game based on certain parameters from older save files.

And, to silence the critics who demand all people perform the painful grind from nothing at the start of each GT - just make it optional. Done.

Of course, none of this matters too much, because those who've cracked the game have more accurately taken a sledgehammer to it. If people can just manually give themselves any amount of credits, or any car, or even a desired A/B level, there's plenty of precedent for PD to not bother with such a feature.

I did not expect there to be any transfer anyway, at most I would think it would have checked for a GT5 save and giver you a small bonus for having played GT5.

Saying that the data from GT5 does not transfer does not mean that there is no possibility of the Steath and/or Chrome cars being carried over but it certainly means that the save game can not be carried over which I would not want anyway. Part of the appeal is starting with nothing and building the car collection.

I would rather the cars like the stealth, Chrome and DLC not be added to the garage but added to the dealership for purchase instead. To tempting to use them and save your credits which makes the early races much more boring.

In GT5 I pre-ordered from gamestop so I started with a Stealth F1 and a Nascar. There were lots of events those cars could run in and far outmatch the competition.

I woud have transferred after I reached a certain point in the game.

There was, like I mentioned in the opening post...

or when has all of your cars ever transferred to the next GT?
GTPSP to GT5.

Does anyone expect to be at the same prestige level in Call Of Duty when the next game comes out? Nope, no one does.

Has any GT game looked at a previous iteration game save and rewarded you for it? Not that I recall? Maybe GTPSP? *shrug* Certainly not full version to full version.

Was anyone really hoping that they wouldn't have to re-buy all their favorite cars again for GT6? Even if hacking didn't take place, I wouldn't expect any data to transfer to GT6.

I know not everyone has a lot of time to play games and exporting cars would save time, but it would also ruin part of what career mode has going for it; cars are rewards for our hard work along the way. Kind of like leveling up for CoD or your favorite RPG.

I hope they never let us transfer data, I love the clean slate that comes with each new game.

In GT4, if a GT3 save file was found, you could start with 100,000 Cr. and the B and A Licenses completed. It wouldn't kill PD to give us an optional loyalty bonus like that.

A GT3 save got you 10,000 credits extra (Maybe 15 or 20) in GT4 at the start.

I like clean slates too. Makes it hard for me to preorder, like others have said, I do really like those liveries. Maybe I could just add them in at a later date.

Got to it before me. I don't recall those being the rewards, see my response.

Screw it, I got it wrong. :P I remember the transfer now.

GTPSP to GT5.

a hand held game that bought them some time between console launches. How about from GT1>GT2>GT3>GT4>GT5. NO, just some credits and licenses. You want the game 100% beat when you buy it as well?

Are you even reading my posts? I already wrote that I'd transfer after I reached a certain point in the game. I just want to further use cars I paid REAL money for, as it was planned in the beginning.

That's why I'm not angry at PD. They most likely had to change something in the filesystem to prevent further hacking and now the stuff isn't compatible anymore.

False.

"Chrome" and "Stealth" cars are basically unlock codes for cars that are already on the disc (yes, every copy of GT5 in the world has all Stealth and Chrome cars on it, you just can't access them without codes).

So basically, if PD decides to treat all GT5 DLC - and Stealth and Chrome cars are DLC - as "service", we'll be probably be able to unlock those cars in GT6 if they exist on GT6 disc by simply re-downloading the DLC-images we have tied to our PSN accounts.

It has nothing to do with actual GT5 saves IMO.

There's a couple of threads for this kind of thing. A "all cars purchasable from the start" thread and a "transfer cars from GT5 to GT6" thread. You'd be surprised how welcome it would be to have these options remain open for some people. I don't like the idea since GT has always been about starting from a < 20k credit car and moving up and all that kind of stuff, but some people just want to play the game (even with the sounds which shall not be spoken!). To each their own. I wanted to transfer my custom tracks :(.

I'm stuck in the middle of your posts, G.T.Ace. Edit, edit, edit, EEEDDDIIITTT.

Hm, true, didn't think about that. Let's hope there's a way then, like DLC compatibility. I guess you don't know anything about plans like this, right? ;)

Oh well, my point still stands for all the other, maybe even personalized cars.

EDIT: Tracks aren't included in the savegame, they're in the installation data, that's why you lose them when you uninstall GT5. Same with unexported pictures.

GT5 only allowed you to use those cars in arcade mode, effectively rendering them useless. Not a good example.
To be fair, the point was having the ability to transfer cars from one game to another. The thing is that they're not going to be Premium. In my case, it would be pointless since I stay away from Standard cars as much as possible, unfortunately. And I have to say, it's obvious that Kaz would like to have all cars be fully detailed, so complaining about it won't do anything. Just as long as the Spykey's (edit - hahaha *SpykeR's) fully detailed in GT6, I'll "forgive" Kaz for letting others have a greater variety of cars to choose from instead of a lesser one. I mean, it's not like GT1/2/3/4/PSP had "Standard-looking" cars, thus forcing upon us a new and primitive way of driving virtual cars... ?

Preorder bonuses are not cheating, especially when people payed $100-$300 for certain GT5 preorders.. They are bonuses, and you get what you pay for.. I was quite pissed since I bought all versions of GT5 that came with bonuses, now they can just be modded in.

The restrictions I am proposing are different than the restrictions that cause people to modify the game currently.
No, they're new ones.

And in your own statements there'll always be someone who that annoys and they'll try to get round the restrictions.
You cannot have a game with complete freedom from a deisgn perspective, there will always be restrictions. You just have to choose the lesser evil.
You choose the lesser evil for yourself. Other people may not be willing to put up with your choice.

Personally, I can't stand what Ubisoft have done to Assassin's Creed, so you know what I've done? I've chosen never to buy another one until they stop - rather than buy the game (validating their design choices the only way they understand) and then hacking it to my own standards.

I've no idea what you're talking about now.

I merely asked if you respected PD enough that you bought their game in response to you saying that you didn't respect them. I don't buy any products from any companies I don't respect.
Should I ask the people that speak negative of hackers if they would murder them?
You can if you wish. I've no idea why you'd do that, what relevance it has or what the merit of the question would be.

I'm sort of happy I can't transfer everything over.

The fun is starting with nothing and working your way up. I think that's why I didn't have much fun with GT5, I had all the chromeline cars and it spoiled the game for me by not having to slowly spec up a little MX-5 or Celica.

I'd be perfectly happy if we got something similar to GT2 and GT4; credits and license. But even this isn't necessary, I probably wouldn't even use it.

And yes I'll miss my GT5 cars, but it's not like they're gone. It just means that they're in GT5, but I can still play that whenever I want.

In fact, even the news about the sounds in GT6 not being upgraded hasn't bothered me.

If I'm really honest, GT has tons of flaws but all I really want is just another full GT game. Each one brings new things to the table.

In fact, despite all it's shortcomings that it'll surely have, I still don't see how it won't be a pretty good game.

In 10 or 20 year's time, I won't look back and see how any of the features frustrated me. I'll look back and feel nostalgic about how life used to be when I played GT6 as a teenager, and how much fun I had staying up all night trying to win some new prize car, or how close some of my online races were.

If I can look back and see that, then GT6 is fine and the absence of a transfer feature won't spoil memories of the game later on for me in life. Or indeed in a few month's time.

I agree 100% that is my favorite part of the game. Starting slowly off. Planning mods for the most return of $$$.

I aggree. All of the GTs have been about wining the polyphony digital cup, or the world championship, untill GT5 came allong. i diffinatly think it is now about collecting all of the cars (its even possible, without too much difficulty, to use seasonal + 200% money to earn 2 mill in 10 mins, i mean, realy?) but im not sure i like this enormouse amount of money. i can remember being in awe of my bro getting realy far in GT3 (i was like 7) and when i tried it, i could never get ANYWHERE. then i learned to drive the cars, and i acually got somewhere. then i played GT4. this was also easy to get good stuff in, because of bspec. i literaly used some peice of junk in the sunday cup over and over with bspec untill i had enough for a Ford GT. it was ridiculous. This is why GT6 should go back to being a game to win, not just a game to play.
