No SRF Friends Group (link to list in OP)

Same video. :) I used to live near WS.
If you get that turn wrong IRL its white knuckle time.

T3 is where a lot of the unintended off-roading IRL happens though.

Do you still live nearer though? Is that why your living location says "In a desert?"lol It's near west coast of US isn't it? Is it in California state?

WS is north east of Los Angeles in the high desert.
About 40 min by car, providing there is no gridlock.

I am in another desert now. :sly:

Definitely not me! Hint; I don't do Judo. :sly:
Prior avatar was Jim Clark of '60's F1 fame.

Do you have any GT-R tunes brewing?
Finally got some time for the PS3.

Judo? Hmmm, is he a legit racer? Or a celebrity athlete doing charity racing event or some kind? Lol, answered with more questions.

GT-R, I got very basic tuning that I hastily put together within 30 min I'm not sure if it's any good, got 1:18.5 or something on my one of only 5 clean laps. Do you want that? If you remotely even care for such a setup I'll put it up.

For that event my steering work got quite compromised due to the fact that I had to press&hold a boost button on every little straight I got on that track. The complexity of making a perfect lap is now far more than any other previous TT and after 15 min of driving I figured it's going to stress me out a lot and it's not worth putting my effort into so I'm done with it already.lol

No need to post tune, not excited about the NOS aspect either. :)
Got something here that should get me the gold, then I'll be done. :P

Thanks for the PM! @JujiroMatsuda

Judo? That's not Putin is it? I unfortunately won't be spending much time behind my wheel, I may have accidentally stabbed myself in the hand with a knife:/

Martial arts geekiness for the win! Thanks man, it's getting better, got stitched up, might try to set some times tonight, but probably won't be competitive.

@Dusty1990 Damn :/ I'm hoping you'll still frequent the message board, buddy. You're so fast, I hope you can come join us again when the kiddos are a bit more self sufficient!

You look old enough to know you shouldn't play with knives! :P

Could've been worse. :embarrassed:

Whittled my placing in the current TTs to teens or better. Still a few tenths for me to find before hitting the wall. Trying not to use nitrous with my R34.

Golded the Peugeot and RX-7 TTs, but the E-Runner event is irritating me to no end... still need almost a full second.

Thanks, @JogoAsobi !
How is the wheel and shifter combo with GT6? Haven`t tried a T500 or a TH8RS, so I`m a little curious.
Also, have you tried a G27? If you have, I would love to have your opinion on a G27 vs the T500.
I had German equipment before going French, so I am unable to answer your questions...

...but I have a couple of GTP friends who have both the G27 and T500. :)
I'll try to track down their posts about it or ask them to reply.

One of them used both the G27 & T500 with H-shifter in GT5 (now does iRacing).
The other is very active in WRS and a IRL race car crew chief.

UPDATE:

@pilmat (IRL crew chief) just PMed me with this:
I've covered the G27/T500 a few times, but here is the thread where I started my T500 mods: T500 Install. The first post covers it.

I have a second HR rig at our race shop in southern Ontario. It has a "black retail box" (latest generation) G27 on it and I like it every time I use it. The flavour of FFB is quite different, but after about 1/2 an hour I'm pretty close to my hoe rig times. And after a couple of days on it I'm always faster. Then coming home I find the adaptation is not as long, but getting the ultimate time is longer ( as in a TT for example).

Also, the FFB feels quite different. I have to alter a tune to get the car to feel the same between rigs using GT6. That wasn't something I expected! But they are different beasts. If the G27 had a slightly stronger FFB and a better durability, I would go back to it straight away, but with a smaller wheel (no bigger than 300mm).

Hope that helps. Ask anything more you can think of.

Hi guys, nice group here :) SRF is one of my least liked features in GT, glad to see all of you running without it.
I'd just like to add something to the G27 vs T500 discussion I had with @JogoAsobi , the pedals. I'm not a fan of the T500 pedals, but they are greatly improved with @mrbasher "Even Stiffer Brake Mod". The G27 pedals are one if my favorites, especially with a brake spring swap to the GTEye spring. This is my current pedals on my T500.
And for shifters, the G27 is a quicker shift than the T8RS. But I like the throw of the T8 for big heavy cars. And as most fast cars are sequential, I find the T8 in its stock form works great for my needs.
Race on! (and keep SRF "off") :D

@LJ12 I just did the GT5 final Seasonal to get the bonus cars.
Seems to me the clutch is more forgiving in GT6 than GT5.

I don't usually miss shift and get dumped into N.
But it was pretty easy to do with that Mazda.

What do you think?

Did you notice, the RA menu's B/B adjust works with both Seasonal's supplied cars.
Funny how the next evolution of GT5 (GT6) still doesn't do that. :odd:

@JogoAsobi. I did notice the difference on the clutch in GT5, and I forgot how bad it was, to be honest. The clutch was also a nightmare to use in order to seta good time. The clutch isn't the best in GT6, but miles better in my opinion than it was in GT5.

I also forgot you could use the RA menu in GT5, whioe using courtesy cars in TT's, so that was a pleasent suprise.

I was also suprised by the new physics in GT6. In GT5, the tires felt like blocks of grip, and you had no idea of the tire limit. In GT6 though, you feel more of the tyres, and the overall grip.

GT6 may have some bad sides, but the physics are mindblowing compared to GT5.

How are everyone doing with the new seasonals? Are they fun and challenging, or boring and repeditve? Anyways, I can`t wait to try beat your times tomorrow. :mischievous:

Only had a go on the Pagani Huayra so far. It took me a long time to get a clean lap lol!
At first I kept on invalidating the upcoming lap on start up! :dunce:

I've got the hang of it now though. It's good fun when you get used to it, a very good challenge to try and tame this car.

A good lesson in throttle control I think 👍

I just now golded the GTR challenge for the prize + money, I've had a rough couple of weeks. I might be able to throw down some times tomorrow though, I'm really excited for the Huayra, I just wish it was on a more technical course...because I'm a masochist. :P

Hahaha never! I would love it on the Nordschleife of course...I think I have just always disliked the Tokyo course for some reason.
I have always hated Tokyo 246, never liked it. But as you, I would love to have the Nurburgring, but then everyone would have complained about it beeing to difficult and so on. It will be interesting to drive a Huayra around Tokyo 246 though.
