Is the glitch where if you crash your car doesn't repair properly and it ends up really slow?

Yes...makes it a really good idea not to hit anyone or anything!

Hey R35, I've got a plan for tomorrow...i'll RAM everyone else, give them the glitch & u can sail through & win for the Gold Firm!

Well what can I possibly say about the race apart from wow!

For many of us this was by far the most enjoyable race of the season. There was plenty of overtakes and wheel to wheel racing and I am proud to say no major incidents :)

Qualifying was a good one and I was impressed with the courtesy and awareness drivers showed throughout the 20 minute session.

Pit startegy came into play again this week with some racers pitting at the halfway mark of the race and others running the full 20 laps without stopping.

I was one of the stoppers and don't think I could of ran the full length competitively without hitting the pits.

Jonzster had another excellent evening and is now really showing his dominance of the drivers table.

Sigma and Toffe did all that they could to throw a spanner into the works for Jonzster but even their blistering pace and overall great racing was not enough to prevent our championship leader distancing himself further at the top.

The results:

P1- Jonzster
P2- GTP_Toffe
P3- GTP_Sigma
p4-Sebastiangurka
p5-Barn_One
P6-R35-SKYL1N3 (Spirit of the GTRC Award)
p7-MLR_Specter
p8-Sicwhitt
p9-Steg_GT
p10-Haigis
p11-MLR_Carts43
p12-Jackargent
p13-Drex81 (DNF)
p14-JaymzVsTheWorld (DNF)
p15-Dekowolf (DNS)
p16-ur-the-daddy (DNS)

A special mention has to be made about how clean the race was!
No reports again this week in what lots of people would consider a tricky track to avoid contact. There were no problems at turn 1 as expected and I must thank you guys for being such great racers and keeping it clean

Next race is at Deep Forrest and will be on Wednesday 10th August at 9pm GMT(BST). (Countdown here)

The glitch is similar to what happens in Forza. The more your car is messed up the more it affects the aero. Even small damage affects it.

Disconnected again at Laguna Seca, was really enjoying the race as well :(

Ahh the Legendary Laguuna Seca.
For a very dew the race was bad.
But it was a "darn"<-(swear filter) good race.
Going to be some good shots that come out of it.
If only the downhill chicane wouldn't have pimp slapped my car, i might have held third but oh well, i'll take another fifth place.
I would describe the race but the action was so awesome i couldn't even begin to start.(actually i'm just lazy but sshhhh)

Well done Barn, yeah the corkscrew is a tricky beast to master, the cars do look awesome coming through there. Should look good on camera :)

My race report....

This race was intense! It was a fun qually session, and with everyone out on track at the same time it was tough (well for me anyway) to get a clean lap, in the end my time was good enough for 2nd on the grid.

Hats off to everyone cause there was not the carnage that was expected into the first corner! really good bunch of drivers we have here :)

I had a great battle with Sigma. I managed to stay close to him on the first lap and then on the 2nd lap a small error from the race leader gave me an opening to pass him on the inside into turn 4. Then with my mirrors full of Tm8's no.1 driver for the next seven laps I took a bit too much speed into turn 6 and got two wheels on the dirt....the car first went left and then speared off to the right and sadly straight into the path of Steve's car (sorry bud:( ) and in trying to avoid he also hit the barrier :( Fortunately both cars only sustained slight damage and could continue on still in 1st and 2nd... phew.

Next couple of laps saw the tyres beginning to lose grip and once again I was the one off into the dirt with Sigma making his way passed to regain 1st place. Decision time, do I pit or don't I. Well my mind was made up when straight away after passing me the race leader went into the pits. I stayed out F1 Sauber style! as I knew if I put my mind to it and didn't push to hard 1.25's - 26's were possible till the end of the race.

The closing stages of the race were tense and saw my lap times tumble so as not to risk another off but fortunately the chequered flag dropped and I luckily managed my third race win! After last week it was pretty sweet I can tell you :)

Congrats to GTP_Toffe and GTP_Sigma on their podiums. Great racing with you fellas. Unlucky JEMcG on getting disconnected:( Cheers and hope to see everyone make the grid at Deep Forest raceway :)

Had a really good race last night, finishing less than a 10th of a second behind Toffe it was a photo finish!

It was an odd qualifying, my with my pole lap set on my first stint, it was hard to get a clean lap with a lot of cars on track and destroying my rear tyres wasn't helping.

I decided therefore that to win this race I would have to take it easy and save my tyres, I started the race with a few conservative laps but once Jon overtook I was keen to not let his car get too far down the road, I tried to save my tyres and keep up with Jon which was no easy task, but the GT5 super slipstream was helping. It worked for a while but I decided to pit on lap 11, this was the wrong choice not only because it let me too much to do, but it also ruined what was great racing by pitting when Jon didn't. Non the less it was fun coming back through the field on relatively fresh tyres making over 5 seconds per lap on the last two laps. Just like Suzuka, the race was a lap to short for my strategy to work. I perhaps need to look at changing my setup so that I can make my rear tyres last a bit longer.

If Deep Forest is even half as fun, I will be happy. Great racing from everyone, particularly Jon and Toffe from my perspective. 👍

Nice race review Steg, love that picture of the cars coming through the corkscrew :)

R35 well done again mate 👍

Steve nice write up. That was seriously close with you and Toffe at the end! Great racing 👍

Deep Forest Raceway is a difficult track.
1. the rapid elevation changes
2. Barely any overtaking Places
3. difficult to find a good setup as there are sooo many extreme camber corners
4. Tires dont hold on at all

This is my experience in Racing Softs which is nothing compared to Racing Hards. Good luck all in deep forest raceway.

3 Wins out of 4...I didnt know Seb Vettel played GT5..

Thanks for the reports lads, enjoyed reading them all. :)

Sorry for not having everything updated as fast this week and for not replying to you all sooner.

There were no major incidents KK so you get another week off ;)

Jonzster, It was Sebastian that took the corkscrew pic and I agree that it is a topper :)

Hope we have as good a race at Depp Forrest on Wednesday.

I haven't had any practice in yet R35.

I will give you a shout tomorrow some point and we can hit the track if you want.

Good luck at Deep Forest Raceway tonight guys, hope tonights race is as good as the last one.

Speaking of which I put together a 25 min video of the last race, it's my first attempt at this, not with the best of gear TBH (just my Lumix TZ3 camera and a tripod ), so be gentle :)

Apologies if I missed anyone out, bit disappointed I couldn't capture all the action, sadly lag played a part which unfortunately looks quite bad on film :( however there was some great racing by everyone and I hope it's enjoyable.

Sebastian - hope you don't mind but I used your pic of the corkscrew chicane 👍

Part 1 is up, part 2 to follow.

Edit:

Part 2, enjoy :)

Food for thought there mate, you make it sound like the green hell :scared:

Great job on the stewarding... send you the money later.

R35 - I'll expect a win for the gold firm :)

Jonzster that video is awsome, thought we were showing on the BBC for a minute there :)

Sorry I never got back to you Jack, was sad to miss you, hope to see you next week.
