Steg cheers that was the idea, big fan BBC's coverage especially F1, that is were I got my inspiration from 👍

R35 glad you liked it mate :) Think I will try and do one every week if I'm able.

kk @ 4:40 tis Mr R35's horn...... beeeeeeeeeeeeep

Deep Forest Race report:

Had an awesome race last night, easily the most fun race I've taken part so far :)

Qualifiying - Managed pole but had a shocking get away off the line.

Lap 1 - Lost one position to R35 on the 1st corner.

Lap 2 - Used GT5's super slip to take back 1st but R35 and Toffe had me again when I nearly dropped it, so back to 3rd.

Lap 3 - Took back 2nd place when R35 and Toffe and myself went three abreast into the 2nd to last corner without contact, amazing driving all round 👍

DeepForestRaceway.jpg

Lap 4 - Lost 2 positions into the 1st corner, then lost another place to Sic when I hit the rock face coming out of the left hander. Back to 4th.

Lap 6 - Super slipstream to the rescue, up to 3rd.

Lap 8 - Got on the back of R35 vs Toffe fight and managed to take one position back. Up to P2.

Lap 10 - Slip streamed my way to 1st.

Lap 14 - Pitted from the lead of race.

Lap15 - Rejoined in 4th place. Went passed 2nd and 3rd while they were in the pits . Up to P2.

Lap 20 - R35 pits. Up to P1.

Lap 26 - Toffe gets a much better drive out of the last corner and sails by. Back to P2.

Really good battle with Toffe. Congrats on the win mate, you were on fire in the 2nd stint hitting 1:11:xxx every lap. Had some great fights with R35 and Sicwhitt also, thanks for the race guys :)

Yes I have a habit of beeping :D first race I have done properly well, I qualified top until last 10 mins when toffe got a 1.11.0 and I tried pushing and ended up getting a 1.11.2 so I qualified 3rd,

Lap1: I got off to a great start and shot straight up to 1st in-between jonster and toffe and stayed at the lead for a few laps

Lap 3-8 battling for the lead which was great fun

Lap 9 I made a mistake on one of the last corners and lost alot of time also damaging my car, slid to 3rd and battled with sic and haigis for a few laps

Mid race: Jon, toffe, sic and haig all pitted so I stayed out until lap 21 in the lead

Lap 21: pitted and went to 5th behind sic and haig, caught up in next few laps due to fresher tires and overtook haig and chased sic

Lap 24: slip streamed sic and tried to take the inside going into the back straight tunnel, nearly forced into tunnel wall, grinded the side and sic hit my front and spun, waited and I chased again until I overtook on the pit straight

Lap 25-30 chasing down the leaders, although with no chance of catching up was cutting the lead by a second a lap and finished a solid 3rd, my best result on a fair race, extremely pleased :D

Everything will be sorted tomorrow :)

Note to ALL drivers, next weeks race will be the 2009 layout of la sarthe and will be in Barn_Ones lounge!!

I will give you all another reminder at the start of next week.

I screwed up and forgot to save the replay, so no pics from me this time Steg.
My run was pretty straight forward, funny part is i zoned out at times so i don't remember the entire race, just a few laps here and there.

I was pushing hard to get up front, (never happened but)
I ended up having to watch out for MLR_Specter as he was trying to catch me.
Then at the end i had a good couple lap battle with Haigis who finally got the spot as my tires was almost half gone.

Just a funny mention though, if you HAVE to take a car out, can it please not be your teammates ride, just saying. (snickers)
Good job to my teammate GTP_Toffe for putting down a great first place victory.
Second place is ours for now. (watch out stealth black, your next)

Edit: As of last race team green is in first spot so nevermind stealth black, we took two spots for first (for now)

Well done Green team :grumpy: lol. My new team mate is (hopefuly) joining us soon so watch out :D

R35 - Part 1 is back up, driver standings were all wrong :dunce: Part 2 is up (post # 172)

Seeing as i will be hosting, i'm going to need all participants PSN.
Send them to Barn_One.
I have been having trouble with connections after 1.10 update, solar flare activity, and the servers being moved/etc.
If i can't see you or you cannot join we will try fixing the problem.

I am going to try getting info (put up here) and hopefully on the Main website for drivers to be able to show up and race without disconnects and the host compatibility error message.

I'm going to start as of today, practice runs online, as soon as i get as many of you on as possible to start testing the connections.
Good luck, and hopefully see you on track.

Ok who killed steg 👎

I was thinking the same thing...

:odd:

Okay Barn will do.

Deep Forest replay part 1 is up, 2 + 3 to follow :)

There are a few pops and clicks on the audio (mainly to do with my editing) so don't max your speakers.
I Just ordered a hardware HD PVR, so overall quality will improve :)

R35 if you're talking about the corner just after the tunnel then yeah it was okish..... just kidding :) that was my fav pass of the whole race 👍

kk Yeah the action is really good in the race, sort of sells it self really.
Sadly i'm having difficulties uploading the other parts, tried disabling avg and using chrome incognito window but still fails.
Might try reducing the file size, last one i did was just under 500mb these are just under 700mb. Keeps stalling around 70% uploaded. Major PITA.

Thanks for the feedback lads much appreciated :)

I dont mind uploading Videos if you're having problems. Give me a shout

Don't worry lads I am not dead :)

I had alot of stuff on this week so didn't have any free time to sort out the incidents or the report.

No penalties will be enforced at La Sarthe however incidents at Deep Forrest will be investigated and drivers can serve any penalties at the next race.

After tonights race both reports will be done.

Thanks again jonzster for the videos mate, can't say how much I appreciate you putting in the time to make them look so good :)

Remember tonights race is in Barn's (Barn_One) lounge to see if that helps the connections issues we have had.

Good luck tonight lads 👍

I'm going to start off differently with this report and say how dissapointed I am with some of our racers.
I am aware that not all drivers can make every race but I do expect people to let me know if they can't make it.

Too many people have let us down by not showing up, this is not cool 👎

I will shortly give a list of the drivers that have been cut from the championship.

Race 6 Was another action packed affair with far too much happening for me to remember let alone write :)
I Got off to an awful start and didn't make it past the loading screen just before the green light :(
This did mean that I could watch the race however and that made for good viewing. :)

I have watched the replay a few times since and was very impressed with the racing on show. From the back to the front there were great battles and some top notch overtaking. So many guys are model pros week after week and it is a real pleasure to, usually, race with them.

I will be honest that as a big race fan I was really watching the action up top when watching live and really enjoyed watching Jonzster's battle with R35. Time after time these two swapped positions up front and they were matched for pace by Toffe untill an error dropped him back.

Sicwhitt had a very good race and was right alongside Toffe battling for third after Toffe's slip up. These two had an awsome fight right untill the end and showed good composure to race wheel to wheel for so long! Sicwhitt took the last spot on the podium gaining three places from his qualifying position and picking up great points for himself and his team.

Jackargent had another solid race and picked up another coupe of points after gaining three places from his qualifying position.
Most weeks this would of been enough to gain him the Spirit of the GTRC award but as three drivers were tied this week no bonus points will be awarded.

Jonzster is untouchable at the moment. Everytime R35 passed him he would answer back with a precise manouver to regain his position.
He didn't step a foot out of line all race. His overtakes were not only all clean they were class! He stayed within the white lines of the track and never put his opponents in any dangerous situations. You are a true racer Jonzster and more than deserve your victories so far 👍

R35 Skyline has been a controversial figure of late and for that reason I kept a close eye on him at La Sarthe.
He is a very fast racer, his second place and close battle with Jonzster are proof of that, but to be blunt he sometimes makes stupid decisions.
In this race I watched him try to go for gaps that were not there and trade paint on several occasions which is forgivable.
The thing that annoyed me was what I believe to be deliberate corner cutting at the second to last turn.
I'm not saying he flew across the chicane like some kid but we adopt a two wheels at all time rule which I feel he abused and may of broken.
As always I will let our steward know this and he will decide the fate of the racer.
There is also an ongoing investigation about R35 and Sicwhitt's collision last week.

The results:

P1- Jonzster
P2- R35-SKYL1N3
P3- Sicwhitt
p4- GTP_Toffe
p5- MLR_Carts43
P6- Barn_One
p7- Monkey
p8- Haigis
p9- Jackargent
p10-MLR_Specter(DNF)
p11-Dekowolf(DNF)
p12-Steg_GT(DNS)
p13-Drex81(DNS)
p14-Flaming_Peach88(DNS)
p15-JaymzVsTheWorld(DNS)
p16-GTP_Sigma(DNS)

No Spirit of the GTRC award this week due to three drivers being tied on overtakes.

Team Table

A special mention has to be given to Monkey who stepped in for Seb at 5 minutes notice and managed a more than respectable 7th place in his championship debut. Huge thank you for stepping up and racing with us 👍

Next race is at Nurburgring GP/F and will be on Wednesday 24th August at 9pm GMT(BST). (Countdown here)

Steg you're welcome buddy, I enjoy doing them and also get to contribute something at the same time, so it's all good 👍

kk the race was awesome, in the end it was a lottery between myself and R35 for the win. I just managed to get the last draft on R35 to take it but I wouldn't have been disappointed in the least if he had won, you would have deserved it R35, that one hellava race. (proper report to follow)

Added the last two parts of the Deep Forest Race videos :)
