Did anyone not notice that Rubens was in front of Sato's teamate Button? I think the move was made intentionally to give Jenson second. Sato was at about the same speed as Rubens, but he was on an inside out line, the professional thing to do was brake, but he just slammed him. Reminds me of the Monaco start with Schumacher.

Hell Yeah, Go Webber.

Fisichella could indeed get that williams drive with some of the performances he is belting out with that sauber of his. he is doing a really good job

Well well. Pulling out 17 seconds lead in 7 or 8 laps. Brilliant by Schumi, although Kimi's pace helped. I cant believe McLaren havent sorted their reliability. I do respect Kimi for keeping his trap shut. It wouldnt help the situation and shows great maturity on his part. Would Monty be that quiet? Doubt it.

On Monty, thanks for the laughs 👍 I was kinda hoping he was gonna tangle with Klien later in the race, but it was not to be.

Sato had great race pace, but dont forget about his kamikaze braking into the first corner after the start. Came close to taking Trulli out, and his effort later in the race showed he has a lot of maturing to do. Button drove a solid race, and good to see Sauber collecting points on a regular basis again.

Well Sato is just starting to be up with the others. And its normal that he makes mistakes, he's defenetly trying things out and he doesnt know how to drive as well as the others .

All I can say that he learned, and I'd rather fly with someone who made mistakes that with one who didnt...know what I mean?

...Interesting analogy.

Formula 1 is the upper echelon of motor racing in many people's opinion. Each year only 20 of the world's best drivers get the honour of competing. Most of them have extensive racing experience in other leagues that has lead them to the hallowed halls of F1. Others, buy their way in.

Sato isn't new to racing, he should know better than what he did. It doesn't matter what position he's fighting for, it matters how he does it.

Sauber can say a few thank you's to Bridgestone for long lasting tyres, Ferrari for a great engine and Ferrari for chassis inspiration. Fisichella scored a race win with Williams not that many years ago. I hadn't heard his name in the works.

Kimi is indeed showing his maturity, just as he did last year, he really is the iceman a lot of the time. I like David Coulthard saying he's met a lot of nice marshalls this season.

How the mighty fall.

Fisi won with Jordan at Sao Paolo last year ;)

Yea, what DC said was funny. Dunno if Kimi would agree *thinks back to Malaysian pushing incident*

Honestly, I'd be afraid to be inside the Williams' trailer... the tension! Horrible to take out your own team mate like that... very alike Prost and Jordan drivers did between themselves in the 2000 and 2002 seasons, respectively.

Kudos to Christian Klien... hey, you're running last, you're still to make a point in the race, and you're under the blue, but don't let 'em pass you! Nice aggressive driving. Kinda like Monty, but less pathetic.

On the Barrichello-Sato incident; maybe it was a novice thing, since Sato was going so much faster than Rubens, I guess he could've overtaken him later, on another curve, but the fact is that Sato bit the bullet and went for it, and although he broke his front wing, he made it. Of course, if it were Barrichello doing so on Sato, everyone would've claimed a brilliant daring move for Ferrari!

OK, there are my 2 cents... Looking forward to Canada... not looking forward for another 1-2 by Ferrari.

Nice poem by the people at www.grandprix.com

Ding Dong! The Witch is back!
The Reds are top and the mood is black.
Racing fans, please come back.
There's loads of action on the track.
The problem is it's down the back.
Ding Dong! The Witch is back!

As Mr. Rotch said, Fisi did indeed win with Jordan, in Sao Paolo... remember that race? Where Monty, Schumi and others totaled their cars? Barrichello ran out of gas as well, right? And after Webber spun for the second time, this time hitting the barriers and destroying his car... the race was actually stopped (red flag) when Alonso (and I forgot who else) collided with one of Webber's wheels. Either way, Fisi passed Kimi, who was in first place, but the officials decided Fisi was one lap behind Kimi, and thus, they gave the victory to Kimi.

About four days later, the officials reversed their decision, and gave the victory to Fisichella and put Raikkonen in second place. There are some pictures on that trophy exchange on www.motorsport.com

There is no conspiracy theory, give it up. Sato made a mistake and braked too late. It was a stupid move and I hope he learned his lesson.

McLaren is an embarrassment. You put all those resources to a state of the art facility yet you can't put resources into providing engines that survive? I don't know if its McLaren or Mercedes but someone needs to get their act together. I feel sorry for the person that has to manage Kimi, he has to be absolutely raging.

Toyota is just plain bad, DaMatta got unlucky when JPM crashed Coulthard into him... but they didn't qualify and Panis didn't race well. It ticks me off they got rid of McNish after such a short time with a new car. Oh well, he is probably enjoying life more in sportscars.

Yep, you're all right, sorry guys. I forgot he was with Jordan last year, I watched the race and knew about the win being changed, I just got my wires crossed cause he had one race win (then) and I could have sworn there was someone who won one race for Williams back around 1998 to 2000.

i think your thinking of frentzen...he won in a williams back around 1997ish

Each year only 20 of the world's best drivers get the honour of competing.

I wouldnt call baumgartner one of the worlds best. $$$Hungarian Moolah$$$

Has he received any words from FIA about the incidents so far? If not then no, but I'm sure the mighty Maranello fans will make sure he doesn't feel welcome.

Frentzen would indeed be that driver, he went on to win a few more times for Jordan. I really lost track of the Williams driver line up after Hill left then Villeneuve.

yeah you are so smart

Am I the only one that thinks that this was simply an accident? I just saw the race a few minutes ago. And it looked to me that Sato braked enough and was close enough for Rubens to see. Rubens took the corner as though there was no one beside him, so I guess he really didn't see Sato coming. But if I was Sato I'd be thinking "What the hell?! Doesn't this guy see me right here?" I am sure he thought Rubens could see him because I thought so too.

Sato did not slam into Rubens otherwise he would have knocked off more that a piece of his front wing. I've got it on tape.

Sato was too far behind Rubens to even try overtaking him.He was just too eager and lacked patience at that time.

OK folks, Im gonna give it to you in simple plain words. When you START UNDER BREAKING you had damned well better have THE FRONT WHEELS at a minimum TO THE MIDLINE OF THE CAR YOU ARE PASSING the corner IS NOT yours. Anything else is going to be considered a poor pass attempt and should contact ensues it will be on the shoulders of the passer, not the passee. If you watch Sato's pass he was clearly not even close to the midline of the Ferrari thereby putting the contact on him.

Is it the tip of the car or the front wheels, cuz I've heard both... Just wonderin...
