- Inboard view for better simulation of driving
- Real Automatic tranny for "stock" car (disadvantage using auto) except for tranny like the modena:)

- Dyno in tuning garage(for fun)
- Wheel size
- real night driving where light be real part of the game.
- When shifting from 1 to 2nd gear (especially FF car :integra for example) in real life we hear the tire scream, in the game shifting is too slow from 1st to 2nd (in my opinion)

- better turbo and blow off sound
- better AI (because you can catch up easy but its harder to increase a gap )

- Ma be a mode unlock at the end where u can customize your own race:
for example: - ability to choose the car you want to challenge
- ability to choose their mods
- ability to choose their skills independantly
- ability to race against your garage's cars
- etc..

-Always show how many horsepower and mods the oponnent have and weight

and many more...

Im not sure if anyone has named these but

*1994 - 98 SAAB 900 SE Turbo
*1994 - 97 SAAB 9000 Aero
*1999 - 02 SAAB 9-3 Viggen
*2003 - 05? SAAB 9-3 Vector
*2004 SAAB 9-2X Aero

      All hail the Swedish safety!

Would you mind posting with the normal sized letters, thats an arse to read without resizing the text on my screen.

Want in GT5:

- Size of wheels
- Tracks
Sugo
Ebisu (West & East Courses)
Maze Circuit
- Have a clutch
- Cars
1st Gen. RX-7
More D1 Cars (Sift Garage AE86, Apexi FD3S, more)
- Bodykits
- Better sounds of real cars

More trucks and the ability to increase displacement on every thing like 350-383 or 400-427, or 454-502 things like that. There is no replacemnet for displacement.

Imo, boost is a replacement for displacement, so I would like to be able to add turbo/sc to any vehicle that anyone sells a kit to do in real life. But being able to do both would be best.

SA22 ^^
Engine Swapping?

I WANT TO USE MY GARAGE IN 2 PLAYER MODE AGAIN!

Boost Control
Tuning of ECU
Mix Match Wheels ^^ (more custom feel)
Custom Decal (Amored Core like)
Touge Maps, downhill/uphill, you know what i mean.

More Old School cars!

A city to drive around O_O, not like NFSU or MC stuff, like to visit car dealers and stuff, something more than to click on a icon...

I would actually love to have one more Nissan Skyline... just kidding.

But seriously, I must start with AI, just general intelligence and ability. I mean, they should at least just not ram into in a blind attempt to find the racing line. Then, there really needs to be much larger fields. At least 20 cars. Next, Porsche and Ferrari. Period. Next, two words: Targa Florio. That would be nuts. Ok Ok, thats way over enthusiastic I know, but 92 miles per lap would be awesome.

Some other stuff that might be cool would be a rather in depth 'Racing School' series or something. Where you would get feedback and could have the red/grey/blue racing lines drawn on each track to help you learn each course. (I mean, if they're gonna have 100+ tracks, it would be good to have some help learning them). This would be different from the liscenses, because it wouldn't just be "Do this sector in this time", it would be more in depth, were you actually learn about racing and driving a car to its limit, etc.

Another feature I have been thinking about is that the so far the series sorta loosely follows the career of a race driver (yourself). I think it would be cool to have other careers taking place simultaneously. So that your opponents would progress with you, the winners moving on and meeting you in latter races, it could record their stats, etc. You could develop rivalries with different drivers, they might hold grudges against you if you run them into the wall or something. That would be cool, to have the human element of racing there too.

I would also like to see some classic F1 machinery and tracks to race them on, the old monoposto racers of the '50s and '60s on the greatest courses in antiquity.

Finally, even out the tracks, add tons more real tracks, especially from the U.S. and Europe, I mean, the majority of motorsport has taken place in Europe, and the U.S. probably has more race tracks than any other single nation in the world, so these locals definitely need to be better represented. Don't get me wrong, the "Original" and Japanese tracks are cool and fun, but I really like feeling like I am walking (or rather driving) in the footsteps of history. It also be cool if there would be little right ups about each track, real and otherwise. So maybe for Made-Up track X, it would say "Here we attempted to simulate the mountain roads of Japan where the motorsport form of Drifting was born", etc.

In summary (in order of importance to me): More Real Tracks (especially European and American), Larger Fields, Porsche and Ferrari, Racing School, Classic Racing cars and tracks, and lastly more cars in general... except that extra skyline...

Definately enhanced AI and more opponents on the tracks...

Apart from those, I would really like to see an effective damage model... Additionally there should be a realism option that would require one to replace damaged panels and mechanical components from the funds that are earned through racing...

Good AI. I didn't expect GT4 to have good AI but i'm glad that it's better then GT4. It's even better then 99% of the racing games. But that's not so hard.

1 thing i really want is... well.. DROP THE 3+ LAPS RACES! (endurance not included)

What is the point of racing 10 laps? Why? WHY? It's frustrating, boring and above all... it takes so much time. "oh damn, 10 lap race.." *selects B-spec*.

I always hated the fact that when you progress in the game the difficulty doesn't increase, no, the number of laps increase. Please, don't do that again PD...

Oh yeah, rally. Drop them. Boring.

gt4's ai better than gt4??

I read some good points especially from "Greenlightning" about the online stuff.

But what I really miss and no one complains about is reverselights and skidmarks. It may sound useless or a bit stupid but that really gives one thing more to the game and I think isnt difficult to make. I just want that (except more cars and tracks of course) but visual damage isn't really necessary. I also like wheel size, more wheels, more spoilers. And also as someone said here on the thread. Make a big city(they made a racetrack in new york so remove the barriers) or a big public road --> Route 66 for example.
But we can dream about it but probably GT5 will be AGAIN the same as the other GT games

I dissagree, strongly. If your battling for position 10 laps can go very quick. In other racing games where the AI can be set really good I've found myself wishing the race was a little longer sometimes so I can either catch up if I've made too many mistakes or to carry on the dog fight I'm in at the moment. It can be boring in GT3 and GT4 because you end up just racing the clock to beat your fastest lap.

hi, newbie here. ive been playing gran turismo for more than 8 years now, and i have a few ideas that would improve the game some what.

* better ai - bet thats not the first time you've heard that! the ai in gt stinks, it is totally uncompetitive, and it is the biggest flaw within the game in general. its as if pd lack the skills to program an intellegent ai, let alone an ai that will challenge all levels of ability.

here is a new twist on the ai theme. gt ai is dumb, plain and simple. gt5 should have an inbuilt ai that learns off the user whether it is racing them or not. it should track what cars the user races, learn his driving style, and if the user decided to take an escudo into the sunday cup, he or she shouldnt be surprised to find himself in a grid filled with other escudos. why not? gt is a fantastic game that is too easy to complete, make the game tougher, and make the player think about the choice of car he will make for each race. i call it pre-emptive ai. the ai, could store all the knowledge it has on the player, and use it to trick and out fox him on and off the track. i believe gt5 will be a massive online game, so imagine what would happen if all the ai databases off all the gran turismo games conversed with each other? you'd have some rock solid **** going down thats what!

* limit cr - the gran turismo series is awash with cr. its too easy to come by, and there are very few costs that the user has to incur.

* part wear/part failiure, and consumerables - this would be a great way to limit the ammount of cr available in the game. if the user had to replace damaged or worn parts, the cr would soon dry up. every part in the game could have an efficiency rating, that decreases according to wear and tear, and player driving style. you wouldnt be so keen to take a shortcut over rough terrain, if there was a fear to damaging your car.
consumerables? tyres, oil, petrol even, they all have to be replaced in real life, so why cant they be in gt?

* car selection - i was dismayed to see again that pd had decided to pad out the car selection with umpteen skylines and lancers. if they went into as much detail with all the other cars, there would be literally thousands of carsin the game. why not try an get ferraris, lamborghinis, and proshes instead of the tired old skyline/lancer routine. for some reason pd seem to think that the motoring world revolves around japan, it doesnt, and its car selection should be a lot more inclusive.

more simulation - how about and accurate (and useable) simulated clutch? its about time we had one, dont you think? also how about and accuately simulated fuel management system? imagine the possibilities if you could fine tune fuel flow etc.

difficulty handicaps - how about a dificulty setting for the gt mode? easy, medium, hard, extreme? also, there should be a clear difference between manual transmission and automatic transmission with the fastest cars only being available to manual drivers.

* stricter cup/ league regulation - whats the point of having restrictions if they are not enforced? include the pre-emptive ai (detailed above) and every cup would be a challenge no matter what car the player chose.

* bring back the random race generator (if they already havent). it was a great idea, that was not expanded on in future releases.

10 laps its ok, you are right , but the things that is boring is, that is repetitive, we always race the same type of race, the same oponnent cars, after some time its ...boring, there a lot of cars that we just race once against in gt3, i dont play gt4 yet :) , , ... just my opinion.

Yes thats true. When you do an endurance race then you're in the first lap already first. But you still have 2hours to do. 2 hours of being first and overtaking the others. It's oh so boring. I sometimes wait on the track for a couple of minutes instead of driving the same lap again and again.

I would like to see skidmarks if they could do it right, but I doubt the ps2 can do it. In all of the racing games I’ve played that had them, they would start to disappear after awhile, and think about a endurance race with 6 (or more, hopefully) cars, and you can see how much computing it would take away from the rest of the game. Are there any games on any system that can do it right?

Zaggin
I think that if they can get the AI to learn, then they probably will teach it everything they can before the game comes out, because the new info that it learned would be much easier to put on the disk instead of the memory card. I do like your idea, I just doubt it will happen that way.

This has probably already been said but ah well... GT5 should have 2 seperate save files so you can have a good file with all of your best cars and another one that you just start the game over and over again for fun. That would save stingy people like me to go and buy another memory card.

Another thing should be to include proper drift battles, even though the AI probably would be hell easy to beat!!!

Ok, not sure if its been mentioned already but the Ford FPV F6 (XR6 turbo) should be a 6 speed manual. Not the 5 speed that it currently has.

Options in pit stops
Save game,
Change tire compounds (all 4 independent of each other),
Adjust downforce,
Change gear ratios, even though it would not be realistic it would be helpful.

Tracks :

Indianapolis - "The Brickyard"
Brands Hatch
Silverstone
Hockenheim
More real life rally tracks like Col de Torini (Monte Carlo) & Ouimpoja (sp) from Finland as well as a couple of Super Specials.

Features :

The ability to save midway through endurance races & between races in a series.

Not going list cars as these have been done to death...

I'd love to see a racing school. One with several levels of courses that teach you about the different aspects of cars and racing.

Level one. Basic vehicle workings.
Learn about how a combustion engine works. etc.
Level two. Basic driving technique.
Apex, basic shift. braking with antilock and non antilock. etc
Level three. Advanced driving technique.
Weight Distribution. etc
Extra Level. Tuning and how it affects your car.
Airflow into and out of your engine. Fuel mixture, cooling, SUSPENSION SETTINGS (too may riceboys thinking lowering your car is cutting your springs and that's the end....LOSERS)
Dictionary Level. Learn the common terms used in the automotive world
Got a term you don't know? Look it up and see what it partains to!

You guys catch my vibe? This would be the best thing that happened to GT since cars..........

World circuits :

Indianapolis - "The Brickyards"
Hockenheim '80s (with the high speed section in the forest)
" '00s (with the "Motodrom" section)
Sepang (Malaysia)
Sakhir (Bahrain)
Shangai (China)

Car Manufacturer :

MASERATI (now owned by Ferrari - any chance to see its jewels?)

Quattroporte 4,2 V8
Gransport 4,2 V8
MC12 Road car
MC12s Race car (next LeMans winner - place your bet)

💡
But I think that - apart from tracks and cars (which GT series already shows plenty of) - PD should address their effort in improving their so-called AI (c'mon guys can we really call the 5 dummy opponent cars a sample of an AI should work?).
I'd like the idea of a car park ; apart from a racing area PD could add some events too (a fairground area in where you could show or sell some of your garage pics and gets some credits for - like the 'vintage festivals' - some non-competitive race for 'proud owners').
Hopin' PD will hear our cry !

I definitely agree with this, but not the gear ratios, because that really can't be done. But there are lots of adjustments that can be made in the pits and are done, especially in endurance races. However, you should be able to change everything in the Run/Setting section by just pulling into the pits. It is really annoying to have to keep quiting and restarting the session. It would be really cool to just pull into the pits, make your adjustments, then drive out and immediately see and/or feel any difference.
