I am sure one of the big reasons why they do not allow cars to flip are that they have not yet modeled the underside of cars. Besides that how many cars could drive away from a flip, might as well be race over.

I agree, race over if flipped. Plus who cares if you cant flip, ya it would highten the realism factor, but its not what the GT series is about.

The Autobahn and or parts of it. That would be better than any test track and it's part of Automotive History.

As far as racing circuits, the full Watkins Glen Road Course and the "old" Monza

The autobahn would be cool, but I don't think they allow full blown race cars to run on it.

yes exactly race over if flipped. the Gt series is not about realism????? so all the stuff about it being the real racing simulator is just bull then huh? go all the way or dont go at all.

by the way that explorer is terrible :ill:

I'll try to avoid the things being mentioned before on all the previous pages, here goes:

- A 3d modelled prize cabinet for all the prizes you collected in GT4... it might not really improve the gameplay, but it will give you a feeling of satisfaction when being able to look at all the stuff you won.

-Prizes other than cars after a race. What about limited edition rims for any of your cars? Or maybe a paint job with special colors you can't buy from a store for the celica for example if you just won a celica race.

-A modelled, animated cockpit view, I always liked them, but I never liked the games that used to have them... besides that they looked ****ty in any game I played before with it. If GT4 would do this they'd have to do it correctly and make the inside of a Toyota look like a Toyota, a rally car like a rally car and an Aston Martin like an Aston Martin etc.

.... that's all I can think of, maybe once I played GT4 I can think of more things.... but now the game almost seems perfect to me. The things I did mention hardly matter too.

The real driving simulator

another thing i always thought they should do but havent, was make the onscreen gauges specific the the car youre driving. not just the generic ones the use and just change the redline, but gget the gauges form the actual cars and have the onscreen. dosnt really do anything for gameplay but would look nice.

Here is perhaps and hopefully some innovative ideals.
How bout have differnt settings that the user can pick before they really even start GT mode then they could play it like they want or could come back and play it a differnt way. There are lots of simple ways to make the game experience last longer. For starters if the A.I. used a greater variety of vehicles and if they was random for most races, even if they used more random colors.
Some players maybe would not like things being random, so maybe that is one of the settings that could be tweaked before you start the game. Here is another ideal random track choices on some race series, maybe random number of laps.
The list could go on and on to make the game as playable as possible. GT series has alot going for it from thoes that collect cars, thoes on the quest for fastest laps, record speeds etc. For the beginner and perhaps average player just completing the game is a quest in itself. I expect that when the online version gets completed it will open up alot of new ideals.

I trust that Polyphony will do a good job again for GT 5 but if they only do one thing then they should put a K-car in. An important car in Chryslers history and one many people have driven. Myself included.

1989 Plymouth Reliant ;)

Tracks :

everything, in order to make it smooth without having the pixel ps one look,
BUT NOT adding any details at cars or tracks or driving system)

THose are good idea's you have max DC

It would be cool to play GT1 and GT2 in GT4 quality. Now with those dual layer the have place enough.

Rockstar does give GTA 1 and 2 away for free on there website, so why not PD with the GT series

I would love to see a 10 car field with another 10 or so "lappers" Much like true racing where there are a few really strong teams and then the rest are left to fight amongst themselves.

D1/D2 Drift competition with point system.

Bonus downhill Torgue course.

hey I got one, how about some colored NAWS???

seems like some of you want the next GT to incorporate lots of NFSU's mods and features.

No, theres a fine line between rice and race in many of the categories mentioned in here. For example bodykit, half the people on these boards here that word and think of F&F and NFS:U, the other half realise that race cars use bodykits to improve aerodynamics. Many of thoes aftermarket companies that are seen in magazinge like Max Power also make performance parts that would fit in on a race car, many even run racing teams in variouse competitions. Drifting should not be considered rice, it's a style of driving and now it's also a recognised form of motorsport.

Is there anything not mentioned there you were referring to.

Is there anything not mentioned there you were referring to.

I see your point about bodykits, although I believe it should be listed as "race modification" then, a la GT1 & GT2. not "bodykits"...

these are straight rice mods, straight from NFSU:

Window Tint
Muffler Size
Ability to paint cars custom colors

These are arguable:

HID Lights (very useful in real life, but in a game, what functional reason is this needed for)
Variable rim width (what effect on driving?)
Choices of which tire brand you want (how would this affect car's performance.... certain tires may have more grip, but there are already umpteen tire levels in GT3)

Well the option to just remove the muffler should be available since most pro race cars don't have them.

Painting custom colours should be an option like in Forza, when I switch on the BTCC I don't see a pack of single coloured cars racing around I see cars with complex designs and decals on them, I would love to be able to make a Calsonic sponsored Cerbera Speed 12 race car or Pennezoil Lister Storm ect.

Rim width has an effect, on cetain surfaces in off road racing the rim width is critical, if your rims are wide on an ice track you'll just slide everywhere, if theyre too narrow on a road circuit you can lose grip. Having wider wheels means wider rubber, if you could give say a Dodge Viper wider rear wheels you could reduce wheelspin ect.

Different tyre brands s in no way a NFS:U thing, yes you can do it in NFS:U but that doesn't make it an NFS:U thing or rice. It could be quite deep wth different brands having different tread patterns showing different characteristics.

It is hard to make to feel the difference between those brands.

About that custom paint job option, that would be cool. Also a function to switch on your lights when you want, attach fog lights and xenon, bixenon or LED lights.

Speaking from an Aussie point of view I would like to see the following cars included..

1970 XW GT Falcon
1971 XY GT Falcon
1973 XA GT Falcon Coupe
2005 BA XR8
2005 Falcon V8 Supercar

Valiant E-49 RT Charger

1969 GTS Monaro
GTR XU-1 Torana
VK SS Group 3 Commodore
Walkinshaw HSV VL Commodore
GTP Monaro 427
HSV GTS-R
HSV Coupe 4
HSV Clubsport 6.0L

I would also like a few more U.S. cars as well...
Like Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am

so painting your car other than stock is rice now, geez give me a break, they have been custom painting cars since before you and I were even thought of 👎

more option in tuning, like istead of addind a sport exhaust add a 4 into 1 extractor with no muffler if you wanted to hear the exhast
