It would be good if you had a set of scales linked up to weigh yourself on before you drive and add your body weight to that of the car so that it effects the performance. Give us all an excuse for keeping our weight down (just as drivers do) :)

An option to supercharge cars instead of always having to have turbo or NA power
Rolling road/dynamometer with ability to change engine mapping
Skid pan

Since GT games have normally had a 'trigger' when you had reached a certain percentage of the game, i.e. a prize car for 50% and the like.

Now 'most' people when they play a GT find the the level of AI competitiveness somewhat disappointing, others just want to get thru it as fast as possible to 'get everything' thus use a ridiculously quick car (compared to the AI) in each event.

So I was thinking, just how could we satisfy the needs of each of these gamers and those inbetween???

In addition to the other triggers, what would've been a great idea, is that in the programming it has an additional trigger when you hit 100%.

This trigger knows that you've reached 100% then gives you a choice of,

1) Being able to now choose your competition to race against. Game forever reads 100% completion (or 200%, 300% or ...)
2) Or the game increases the competitiveness (either by making AI quicker, or with more competitive cars) of the AI as you complete the game a second time, and when you get to 200%, you again have the choice of 1 or 2, if you again choose 2, it does this process again at 300%...

I realise that the majority of the people will choose 1, but the hardcore players would like the opportunity to conceivably get stuff like 452% completion and the like that option 2 offers, for bragging rights, or game longevity etc...

It could be interesting...

GT4 needed fewer variations of the Japanese cars. Aside from that, in GT5, how about dash panel views, like most of the earlier NFS games? While it may be less than a brilliant idea to do so, if I wish to try racing Civics with a Cavalier, Cobalt or Neon, or any other compact model, I should have the cars available to do so. I liked the used car feature coming back, would like to see cars other than Japanese ones, though. I would like to have seen some more Australian cars. HQ Monaros of the '70s, XA or XB Falcons, and E49 Charger R/Ts would have been brilliant. When it comes to the physics of the game, it would be nice if someone bothered to recall that given modern tires, a '60s muscle car will grip the road pretty much the same as anything else with those tires. I recall a Car and Driver roadtest of a Charger Daytona that had been equipped with Eagle GTs, which were pretty much the thing in the mid '80s, and it posted a quite respectable figure on the skidpad. GT2, 3, and 4 seem to act as if these cars would never handle whatever you do, but this is not quite the case. Further, they seem to have little knowledge of the manner in which V8s carry a torque curve from low rpms, and less understanding of the fact that a highly tuned V8 does not sound like a tuned Honda Civic, or that V6s will sound diifferent from either.

ok anyone who thinks there should be such things as body kits, window tint, or any other faggot idea just shut up from here on out and go pick up a ****ing copy of NFSU2 you queer.

here's what I want:

***fewer load times!!!
--All cars should be able to race on any track. (Nike, you know what I mean)
--Weather patterns w/ heavy rain, sometimes so heavy, it creates some flooding (that'd create some good compitition).
--Day/Night patterns.
--Ability to choose Rim size, Tire size, height size
--Realistic Damage (tires, engine wear, damage to body)
--A redo of Photo Mode (ability to take the car where you want it, you can do this in Replay's, but it's a hassle)
--Less of the same cars (tons of Skylines, not cool)
--More cars from different countries
--Lambo, Porsche, Ferrari, etc
--More rally tracks
--Out w/ the original tracks (GVS, SS11, HSR, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, basically ones we've known since GT 1,2, & 3) In w/ more of the real tracks (Fuji, Nurburgring, etc) Bathurst, Monza, etc.
--Crotchrockets? Dirtbikes? why not?
--Full Customization (under the hood, exterior/interior, decals, stickers)
--Car Shows w/ point system (think NFSU2) to earn more credits/cash and/or respect) (I can see this showing up on the Online version of the game)
--More tracks with hills/bumps for air
--Ability in 2P to have both cars start out SIDExSIDE, instead of giving handicap
--Ability for AI to learn from us gamers
--Less Rock music, more Techno
--A huge parking lot, and ability to set up cones in spots to create your own tests, to practice something that you need help with
--Different menu music (I'm hearing some sounds from the original GT)
--Faster Fuel changes (I don't care to watch a guy do it)
--Easter Eggs, or more Driving Challenges
--Ability to mix paint creating the ultimite paint job
--Skid marks that don't disappear
--Ability to rewind/forward replays, even slow down to get that snapshot of the backfire (hard to do w/o hitting select over and over until you catch it)
--Clutch petal for DFP/controllers

That's all I can think of right now, I'll update more when they come to thought

just let them put every single car in the world :P or almost... if it'll be online we can download them.. that'll be cool and no bodykits and ****.. no rice **** leave that for NFSU... maybe an in camera view with the hood just showing.. just like real driving.. and.. ummm maybe a wheel with a clutch pedal for GT5 exculsive!! that'll be awesome :):)

Well, sorry while I really think people can post here what they want, you are making GT5 to a *****ing genremix game.... I see NFSU, ATV offroad, and I'm sure if you "come up with more thoughts" you can exit your car and walk around with a machine gun jump over the trees and walk to the Nürburg and kill all zombies out of it....
If I think of GT5 with your changes:I see a game without the original tracks (come on, strangest idea ever here), without GT style music, but I can drive around with
an ATV equipped with NOS and venyl lightning stickers, blinkling lights and moving 20inch rims, listing to technomusic and flying through the air like the Skyline in 2F2F.....

NO THANK YOU, then GT would have lost its identity.... I'm really open for many things but you would kill the series man.... 👎 👎 👎 👎

lets be honest the only thing what cars concern that gt5
will have are the same as now plus more and more LANCERS  ,SKYLINES :yuck:
and other jpn crap

Skylines and Lancers will always beat any american wannabe sportcar, so what cars are the real crappy ones ? :)

In GT5, I would like (in no particular order):
BTCC cars from around '94-'98, like the old Mondeo's and volvo's :D
Reverse lights! 💡
Online mode (obviously)
Truck racing. Seriously. And Brands Hatch. :sly:

truck drifting  👍

For the home theater owners out there (like me), I'd love to see

true 480p and/or 1080i
dolby 5.1 all the time
no underscan on the sides of widescreen 16:9 TVs for GT5 and all PS3 games
support for the next logitech wheel which should have (since you develop with logitech): clutch, six speed manual, paddles (some cars really are paddle shift like the seven speed M5), more realistic gas/brake pedal.

Now on braking, some econoboxes have a lot of pedal travel while some sports cars with brembo brakes have very little travel and braking is modulated by pressure. Instead of trying to model braking on a lot of cars since that would take up too much info, just make it modulated by pressure instead of travel. For those of you with sports cars out there, you know what I'm talking about.

I love mild force feedback mode with the DFP at 900 degrees, please leave that in as the highest setting more mimics a car that has very little power steering. And maybe you could strike a deal so that Porsche/Ferrari will finally come around? I think all of the other manufacturers have realized this game is free advertising for their cars. It's time those two brands jumped on board. Also, more track oriented cars like Radicals and vehicle damage. Finally, online racing. Whew.

Seriously I did laugh out loud, but in a way its sad that some people are so biased and misinformed.

I suppose you haven't seen any drag, street, track races with skylines, lancers, NSXs, Vipers, Corvettes ? :) Not to mention that US "sports" cars always have twice as bigger engine with max torque at 2000rpm, and redlines at 6000 :) Thats a truck, not a sports car, just like your nickname :)

Dude chill out. First of all, peak torque (espicially if the torque curve is really flat) at a low rpm is good, because most of the time you don't want to run your car up to the limit of it rev range. Second, everything likes something different, and skylines/lancers et al have drawback too, every thing with cars is cause and effect, you like active diffs, awd, turbos, well you get weight and off-throttle bog and turbo lag. So, give it a rest dude, just enjoy everthing about cars instead dumbass sniping comments about how X is so much better than Y, it just makes you sound like an uneducated buffoon. Finally, the Corvette C5 Z06 is probably the best bang for the buck sports car ever made, and its made in the U.S. I don't even like Corvettes that much, but look at it 400+ hp, lightweight, sexy coupe styling, longstanding pedigree, whats not to like, except your ignorant bias?

Mods, sorry for the off topic, I will not post another reply to crxdriver after this.

You suppose wrong.
My truck has a 4.3L engine with max tq at 3600 and a redline of 4800.
But what does the size of the of the engine have to do with anything anyway?

💡 How about a GT5 Track Creator? I bet most people here have a favourite road to drive on (or a road you want to drive if you can't yet). I know I do. A track creator would be great, with the PS3's "confirmed" online capabilities it would be the equivalent of CS mapping for the GT community. It could be on a second disk and come bundled with GT5 or something. The only downside is you'd probably need a keyboard and mouse to use it effectivley.

I'm just talking about track times, handling, sport feel, and no Z06 have that...If you had a chance to see some races with that corvette and a couple of japanese sport cars with around 300 hp, you would notice that Corvette is always the last...
Corvette is just a showcar, nothing more...They wanted to make a sport car with lots of hps, but on the other hand, it should be comfortable, with a high class equipment like in big sedans, and thats the problem with a whole US autoindustry....For a less money, you have 350Z, Supra, RX7, EVOs, and all that cars are better on the track...

If you ever watched any of the races I've mentioned, you would know that no US car can beat a Japanese car...The size of the engine showing many things...The first thing is that they can't make low liter, hi rpm and hi powered cars...They think that the bigger the engine, the better is a car performance, and thats wrong....Everyone could make 10 liter V12 engine, but no one but the japanese can make (and haven't made) 2 liter atmospheric, 260hp, 9300 rpm engine in a stock car....

Im apologizing about the off topic to the mods, but i couldn't be silent when someone starts to talking about they don't have a clue....I'm a professional driver, and I've raced almost everything that you can find on the market...
