Hey progamer2008, one other thing in addition to the points made in pm, the noise made when collisions occur, by far the worst thing in the game!

Yes, full clutch support please. I've just sent them an email about it, hopefully they got what I meant. I've tried to play as much as I can and unlocked a few old cars and not found any use for the clutch or how to enable, so sorry if it's actually in there.

Well done.

At the end, a great game is achieved including all the options, all the controlers, all the settings. This distinguishes a great game (as GT5 Prologue) of the rest (GRID, DiRT, F1, Sega Rally... ).

I bought Ferrari Challenge yesterday and have played it for a few hours. First impressions are good, it really is what Grid should have been. Compared to GT5P, yes the graphics aren't quite as good and there are some small problems but handling is good with both pad and wheel, and the AI of the other cars is far, far better. Another plus point is that it seems that the developers are listening to the complaints and looking to improve. My one and only big annoyance is the sound of the car when you're not using the in car view. I usually use the bumper view. Apart from that I find it a little low to have a good view of the track the main problem is that your own cars engine sound is far, far too quiet. Even worse, when you're racing close against other cars you can hear the other cars engines far louder than your own - there were times I've been changing up a gear just down to another car's engine noise! Hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Mark.

Just a quick note or observation, Spa in FC looks really good you get the feeling of the great changes in height, chamber and speed (bonnet view) as the real track, I've walked up from the pit straight and to see the track climbing up in front of you looks really daunting as a race driver I imagine.

The last chicane before the pit straight in FC is very different to Grid, not sure which one is correct as I have not walked round to see after they had changed the track (quick visit to track on the way to The Ring) can anyone enlighten me please.

Another comment about Grid I really didn't link it at all, typical CM steering no feel to it at all, (A **** they are making F1) but as for FC it is way advanced with all the help turned off its such a good game sound is very good, love the gear box noise and they way you go into the kitty litter if you stay on the brakes to long.

Stamping on the loud peddle is not a good idea while trying to catch up exiting a hairpin corner..... Can't stop playing it... Yes it has its faults, then so do I.

Hope they change the wheel strength as my wheel table moves across the wood floor, so for now the pad is the only option.

Not sure what the fuss is about ripping of menus and Vinyl from other games, can you imagine one game with all the best bits from all the games you have played, now that would be good... Bring on the rain as this is all we get in the UK at the moment!

Keep up the good work Eutechnyx and S3

Spa on FC is awsome. The last chicaine is correct. They even put the F1 pit lane in. Would prefer spa going back to the 2 chicaines though. New one sucks:crazy:

  1. multi monitor mode, creating a peripheral view (180°).

If the game has LAN races, it´s probable this option is not very difficult to implement.

But I see this option for a minority too small (requires 3 PS3, 3 TVs, 1 HUB, a lot of power consumption).
Is really a setting that is often only at fairs or exhibitions.

All the webs and magazines use the same images. :)

I'm off to the gameshop in an hour to get this game. :)

Looking forward racing you online in a couple of days, after I got settled in single player and tested most of the cars. Can't wait.....

I got an email back from Ferrari challenge admin and they are looking to implement clutch support.

There will be no multi monitor support how ever.

I'm getting more and more interested in this game.

I too would have responded the same, but I doubt that is putting it in the next patch.

Seems as if everything that is going to include the next patch had prepared before release the game.

Well, this is some intresting PR from today :)

"Ferrari Challenge: Racing Off The Shelves

Veteran videogame publisher working with retail partners to ensure game is re-stocked as soon as possible

Friday 11th July/...System 3 is moving quickly to address supply issues which have seen only limited copies of its latest release Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli arrive in stores.

A hiccup in the distribution system has resulted in many high street retailers reporting low stock levels. System 3 is working hard with retail to ensure an extensive resupply campaign continues in the coming weeks to meet the demand for this hugely popular race title.

“We knew Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli would be popular, but the massive demand for our game has surpassed even our expectations,” said Mark Cale, CEO of System 3. He continued: “We’re working hard with our retail partners to make sure that everyone who wants a copy of the game gets one. Our customers are the most important part of our business, so we’re working harder than ever to ensure their needs are met.”

Over the coming weeks, retailers will be receiving additional stock, enabling gamers to get their hands on the most advanced simulation available on PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS."

There seems to be tons available around were I live in major supermarket and game retailers.... maybe its doing better in Europe. Good to see that its received positive comments from the GTP'ers who have purchased it, might give it a rent sometime.

I got a response to my clutch email. I think other people wanting the clutch should send an email too.

"Hi,

Thanks for your enquiry. I’m glad that you’re enjoying playing Ferrari Challenge.

We’re looking at the feasibility of utilising the clutch on the appropriate vehicles.

Whilst we’re able to make some reasonable modifications to improve the experience, amending car models and menus takes a significant undertaking and at this stage we are not in a position to do this."

Ferrari Challenge Dev's "evaluating the possibility of adding Trophy support"
Posted on 2008/07/11 5:21am by Andrew Jeffery
After recently contacting System 3/eutechnyx regarding this issue, they have confirmed that they are currently evaluating the possibility of adding Trophy support for the PlayStation 3 title Ferrari Challenge.

The email read as follows:

"Hi,

We are currently evaluating the possibility of adding Trophy support.

We’ll keep the community updated with further news as we have it.

Regards,

Ferrari Challenge Admin"

While this doesn't confirm that Ferrari Challenge will support Trophies, it does make it much more likey considering System 3 have stated that they will improve the title based on Community Feedback

Nice to see some of my articles have been posted on here.

I wrote the Ferrari Challenge/GT5:P feature (currently working on Part 2 of that feature) and posted the Trophy news on the site i write for (pslegion)

:) (ps im Andrew Jeffery)

I had the change to try it out in the store this afternoon. It was on a Samsung LCD HD ready tv. My fears about the game came true, it doesn't look good enough for me to buy it. It is in my opinion definitely not a next gen game.

The handling is very good. Maybe even better than GT5p in some areas. The sound was turned off, so I can't say anything about that.

They use the same things in the replay, like a shaking camera, like in GRID.

I'll stick to GT5p for the moment untill I Project Ferrari/Falcon from Blimey! games is released. I don't know that these will be worth buying but IMO, they will be better than FC:TP.

€ 65 is just too much for this game.

I think its safe to say that the entire GT Planet owning part of the Ferrari Challenge community wants Trophies adding.

I don't mind restarting it for that.

On a side note I do hope that the DLC info comes along soon, and as it does appear that the development and publishing team has taken notice of us humble folk at GT Planet, may I say (and again I think I speak for most - so consider this a form of open letter) please keep the pricing structure realistic.

I know that free would be the idea price, but I'm not that daft, however COD4 priced itself out of a lot of fans with a silly price for DLC, I wouldn't want to see FC do the same thing.

A lot of DLC is planed for the game and I for one will only be considering all/most of it if its realistically positioned.

Im hoping for more cars in the DLC, you can't get enough Ferrari's

Don't get me wrong, I'm very interested to see what the first 5 cars and track are going to be, I would also love to see the full 'ring in DLC (and the 288 GTO Evo). However I don't want to get 'bent over' by a publisher, particularly given that the success of the title is down to thsoe who have bought it and spread the word about it (despite the issues withe the on-line side).

We have supported them and it would be nice to see that reciprocated.

This part is identical to the answer I got, although I told them that would not buy the game until they launch the patch.

This not (and sound bad).

Any news on the DLC and what price it will be at? i really hope its free though, since i have no credit card, and there are no pre-paid cards for the PS3 (yet).

Rumour has it that it will be monaco at night for the first DLC pack.
