It would highly unreasonable for them to ask like £6 a pack (for example) or something considering that they intend to release a wealth of packs... if your a dedicated fan you would be paying way more than the cost of the game over time.

I think that maybe a subscription idea would be good so that you can pay a set price to get every update free from now on. I guess we will have to see how it turns out...

Look at Prologue, they added quite a number of new cars and a track for free! and also intend to add further stuff.

It will be unlikey that they will charge that much for the packs. I suspect a pack with a track and 5 cars will be probally £3.99 tops

And if the release one a month for a year (which is something I have heard mentioned before) that's just under £48 or more than the game.

Sorry, but for me a more realistic figure would be around £1.99 to £2.50 per pack, which would still be an extra £24 to £30 per copy of the game sold. I also think that they would be far more likely to get that amount, and from a business sense its far more logical. Very few people would pay as much as the game all over again (for what many will argue should have been in from the start anyway), however far more would be willing to pay around half of the games purchase price.

I personally don't hold out a great deal of hope for realistic pricing, as most companies seem to think that gamers are stupid and will just hand over the money.

Nice to see some of my articles have been posted on here.

I wrote the Ferrari Challenge/GT5:P feature (currently working on Part 2 of that feature) and posted the Trophy news on the site i write for (pslegion)

:) (ps im Andrew Jeffery)

As you say over your article about Daytona & GT5P. It will be as a DLC track for FC very soon one of the first 6 tracks I know.👍

Free DLC

While it hasn't been confirmed whenever or not the DLC for Ferrari Challenge will be free or not, one thing for sure is that Gran Turismo 5: Prologue will recieve free DLC, as soon as GT5:P owners booted up the game for the first time, they were treated to a bucketload of new cars and a new track at no extra cost, and expect more of this to come.
I think I have an answer for that.

Downloadable content:

We cannot comment on the content itself, or the price as yet, as these will be announced very shortly. There's a few things coming up that will really blow your mind. You know there's going to be new cars and tracks, and for now, that's all we can say. A little clue, though, is that the first track is an old favourite, and one that is going to set the online racetrack alight.

With any donloadable content, if there are licenses involved, it's often very difficult to give it away. When you talk about signing tracks, you're talking the average cost of buying a house sometimes!

However, System 3 has gone on record with leading websites and magazine to say that any game patches, or additional modes, etc, would not be charged for.

The charge only occurs when you're dealing with licensed cars or tracks. That's not to say that these downloads will never be free. That said, you have to remember, System 3 is paying for the online servers, not Sony. Sony also takes a cut of any downloadable content. If it's free, you still get charged by Sony, so it's a very difficult situation in regards to free content.

About the DLC:

As "beta testers" it would be nice to get the first 5 cars in the same pack as the bugfixes, i hate to give money away for game problems that shouldn´t occur in a full price game.

In addition it would be nice to install the game on the HD, the loading times are killing me.;)

Aside from this and the other statements about improvement on the game i already have big fun with FC:TP, espacially my slow improvement on the game refusing to use any drivng aids.:)

I love those livery's fatfat 👍.. I can see a lot of people making famous Ferrari race liveries in the future.

Thats one feature I wish GT would adopt! :indiff:

Just a thought.... I haven't got the game, but following this thread has put it on my list (should I get some time when I'm not actually working).

Anyway, my thought was: Does this game deserve it's own section on GT Planet as more and more people seem to be getting it and it's beginning to become difficult to track all the points in just one thread?

I got the game since yesterday. I must say that I really like the colorsheme they used. Its sparkling and vivid looking. You really get a videogame feeling. The backgrounds on the tracks are simpley gorgeous. Mugello anyone ;)

I'm very bad with the livery editor, so my designs are very simple. But meself a 512M yesterday or was it an S......

Driving cockpitview in the rain is an awesome experience!!! 👍

Is there anyway you can send/swap livery's with other people? does anyone know if you can do this? thanks:tup:

I don't think you can, however that would be a great feature for system 3 to implement in the future.

The more i play this game, the more i like it... cars get more exotic and classics are really cool, and the tracks keep getting better as well.

Spa is just amazingly done... i still stand by my previous review when it comes to graphics and the framerate, it's not steady and on my HDTV it just does not look that good... but the gameplay, physics, cars and content is what keeps me busy for now! cool game indeed.

Framerate issues? I haven't had any on my HDTV (noticed them anyway)

The game does have slight framerate issues - at least in 1080p (and no, it's not a issue with my TV :sly: )

Nothing that ruins the game, but it still annoys me. Hopefully this will be fixed in a patch soon!

I got the game yesterday and is a bit dissapinted so far reg. the graphics - I really don't like the color scheme. The whole game looks bland and unexiting :(

Is it just me or does it look to be running internally in a sub-HD resolution (as some other games like Halo 3, COD4, Haze, GTA4, etc) and is just upscaled to HD?

As I've said before, I'll probably rent it. I'm personally not to intrested in buying the full game though unless I love it...

You certainly won't love the online aspect, it stinks. Yeah I know it will be sorted when the patch comes in the next 2 weeks but come on I really love this game and I want to race online with it, all I get is about half a lap with randoms or constant PS3 lockups if I host, I will admit to having some good races in "private" rooms with 2 or 3 guys but thats the only way we can get it to work....16 player online.......Hmmmmm Thank god theres enough in the single player to keep me interestead while we wait for the game to be "fixed"

Rant over now move along nothing to see here! I'm currently going to go sit in a room with the police car, look for a race at spa with the tag Hereward, your all welcome to goin, just no speedin or I'll nick ya LOL

Hereward 550 maranelo GT spa just search for it I'm on now
