Historically Colombia were tipped to win the WC in 1994 but failed drastically and went out in group stage. Escobar, there player got murdered back home and then all the players decided not to play for the national team because cartel killing Escobar for scoring an own goal.

And this is the first time since then that they have been in a World Cup.
