Official Shift 2 Bugs List Thread

I don't know between xbox and ps3.

But I discovered last night that a new PS3 fw (3.65) takes care of some instability issues with some games according to their description.

I'll try to check enna pergusa and a works 918 (always do the trick :D) this weekend.
 
I am yet to see one single CTD in S2U on PC, even things like alt-tabbing during movies/race loads, which could occasionally crash Shift 1, no longer CTD the game. Some other people do seem to have issues with it though. SMS said they never ran into it in internal testing and haven't been able to replicate it from people's dxdiags.

There also seems to be some mysterious connection between people getting CTDs, intense overclocks (20%+) and a how-dare-you-suggest-this-might-be-OC-related attitude to narrowing down the problem :)
 
I find it very hard to believe that they didnt spot the freezing issues in the PS3.
Its is very simple to spot- pick any car over 2000PP - do a time attack on the Ring - go as fast as you can... and voila a Freeze
 
Don't know if someone had this before, but I just came first in round 3 at the driver duel championship by getting a 5 sec lead or something but I couldn't continue. Only saw the AI driving my car around the track but the 'after race screen' wouldn't show up so I couldn't press the button to continue. Had to quit the race and ofcourse ended up back at the qualifying round again..

This game could be so much fun but all these bugs are just ruining it for me. Almost no one doing this driver duel championship either so you have to wait a very long time before someone enters the lobby at the higher rounds. Sucks that you have to do this to get the platinum trophy.


Edit: 3 more bugs in this Driver Duel Championship.
- You sometimes start the race with a different HUD, gets very annoying since I really need that rear view mirror to see what the other driver is doing behind me.
- On Round 3 of the actual event when there is a rolling start, the AI often messes up causing one of the drivers the fall behind a few seconds, sometimes enough to lose the race instantly.
- Just won the qualifying round but I didn't get to round 2, still at the qualifying round for some reason.

EA kindly sent me a shift 2 (not limited edition) disc, so today I tried deleting everything shift2 from my ps3, installed the non-limited-edition and worked my way up till I was able to buy the works upgrade for the lamborghini [some model number] car.

Took it to nordschleife in a quick time trial and it froze after 5-6 turns - at 138 km/h.

I give up. EA does not know if another patch is coming for ps3, does anyone here know?
 
I can't see a list of verified bugs in the first post.

I have just noticed a tuning bug.

I wasn't entirely convinced that the game was loading a tune for a specific car or track when one existed and I changed cars in quick race etc...

So I took the Exige S which I haven't yet driven. Bought full suspension and went to tuning.

I created 3 tunes which it was easy for me to identify from the telemetry page alone.

Tune 1 - Brands Hatch Indy
Set bump stop front & rear to max (30.00). In the telemetry this shows as a bump stop value of 3.0cm

Tune 2 - BRands Hatch GP
default except changed from ride height to 0 and rear to max
in the telemetry this shows as 6.5(ish) and 13.5(ish)cm

Tune 3 - Silverstone Bridge
Reverse of Tune 2.

I then changed to a different car, entered a Quick race.

Finally I change to the exige from the quick race menu and enter the 3 circuits I have saved the settings for and check the telemetry on each

Tune 2 & Tune 3 (the ride height adjustments) were the ones I saved but...

The bump stop value was showing as 1.0cm in the telemetry. I selected each circuit & checked the telemetry again to be sure.

So then I go to the tuning menu load the Brands Indy tune and the values are as I saved them - 30.00, so I go to test & Telemetry shows 3.0cm for bump stops.

coming out of the test on the setup summary page it shows bump stop values as 10.00 (?) so I go to edit & they are set as 30.00 wtf?) accept & summary page shows 30.00 again - save to brands GP again just to be sure.

Go to Quick race Brands Indy & check telemetry & this time it shows as the expected 3.0cm

I was very careful with the steps - has anyone else noticed weird unexpected results like these?

I can't see a list of verified bugs in the first post.

There is no list. There was meant to be (when this thread was started in april) and the first post used to have "headlines" for "PS3 bugs", "PC bugs", "xbox bugs" or something like that, but that was removed (about a month later).

I guess the OP lost interest the "Official bugs list" before he got the list started ;)
 
I wanted to play but I was back at the start of the game with the white Skyline at Suzuka. I quit and rebooted. It was all "normal" again but one little detail: I had a 78% completion rate but tonight I went back to 52%, lost all the cars I acquired and won in between but still have all my trophies. I know it happened to at least another user over the net. It's very frustrating. I was really enjoying the game!

I just wanted to add that this has happened to me today also. :grumpy:

Except, my progress of 73% is still there with the badges and also the extra events from having the Limited Edition are there and completed. Now all my awarded cars are gone now and I also can't enter any events despite being a level 20.
 
Unrealistic AI & Trackside Objects Behavior

Issue 1: One of the large blue anti-collision barriers on left side of track prior to the tunnel entry hovers about 6 ft off the ground for race duration after AI driver collides with it, this happens consistently.

Paramaters: Quick Race (20 Laps)/Location: Casino Riviera/Time: Day/15 Opponents (Identical) /Cars: Porsche 911 RSR Legends/Pagani Zonda F/Elite Mode/ABS ON/Difficulty: Easy.

Issue 2: Lead AI car into Nurburgring Sprint's Turn 1 goes up on two wheels at 45 degree angle (inside wheels up) and carries sufficient speed to maintain lead through the corner on two wheels. Wheels down at corner exit. This happens with almost 100% consistency.

Paramaters: Quick Race (20 Laps)/Location: Nurburgring Sprint/Time: Night/15 Opponents (Identical) /Cars: Nissan R35 (Spec V.)/Elite Mode/ABS ON/Difficulty: Medium.

I'm not sure if this constitutes a bug, so someone else let me know if you have the same problem:

On PS3 my Mclaren MP4-12C regularly has it's engine blow, causing a disqualification. This is the only car that has this happen without intentionally trying to blow the engine. I drive it the same as all the other cars I have, but I regularly get a blown engine after only a few laps. This only happens with the MP4-12C, no other car does this to me. Bug, or user error?

I'm a PC user and I had the SAME thing happen to me; along with some of the other issues mentioned in the post. It's the reason why I REFUSE to use any of the Mclaren MP4's at the moment.

Not to mention, just recently, I experienced a MOST annoying bug where I was adding new vinyls and paint to a Ford Shelby GT500 I had been working on for a couple of days(since I'm waiting for a new racing wheel to be shipped by the end of the week :irked:), and I FINALLY had gotten it to look the way I wanted it to, and on the final detail I added, I had to use the bathroom. When I returned some minutes later, I noticed it was on screensaver mode with the appearance of the car JUST in it's base paint theme with NO details or vinyls that I added! Needless to say, I LOST MY MIND!!! I then proceeded to log off and see if it would come back to it's state to which I had left it prior to the break, and to NO avail, the vinyls and everything I worked on DID NOT come back.

And YES, I do have AUTOSAVE on ALL the time.

Every single time that I go in to the gallery, it freezes within 5 seconds. I have to power off the PS3 every time, and I've gone through this at least 10 times.... This started after sharing 6 photos, and deleting like 20 that I didn't want, and then I took a couple more, unshared ones. Does this have something to do with sharing pictures, or how many I have taken? I could try to rush in and delete one before it freezes on me... but I doubt this will work. Anybody else having this trouble? Please let me know.
 
No, not really.If I was in Your shoes I would delete all picture data right from the XMB!
 
How do I do that? And will it change any of my other stored data? I'm kind of scared to mess with it, I don't want to screw it all up lol. Maybe you could give me some instructions, if you really think it would help. I kind of want to keep my pictures though.. lol some liveries on there that I really like.

Dunno, never tried...but there is a file per photo in the game save data.
My idea was for him to save them to an USB stick and than delete them from PS3...
 
That's definitely possible.

Out of curiosity, restore them to the PS3 to check if the problem persists. Maybe even try one by one to check if the bug is after a certain amount of pictures or maybe a corrupted file.

Being the smart 🤬 , that I am, I followed my own advice.:ouch:
Since I was having these recurrent freezes- some times 3 per night- and I don't really care about photos and replays I delete them from the XMB.
I kept the game data untouched and saved it to an USB.
Than I've started the game... 85% career...but no garage, Car lot...anything...start from scratch!!!
I exited the game, restarted the system, same BS!!!:grumpy:
I've deleted my game data and reinstalled the one I had previously saved...
Same B.S!!!! No cars no tunes, nothing...had to start from scratch...
Finally I found a save data in another USB pen from 25 May...installed it and it worked...so not everything was lost...but still!!!👎:boggled::irked::mad: :banghead:
I guess aside some racing online with some good people over here, now and than..I'm pretty much done with S2U!!!:indiff:

I do not have a picture to show it but if found a somewhat big error in Shift 2. I did a 20 lap race on Hazytown Eight. I did the race, but I was noticing something odd but I couldnt figure it out. I slowed down and found what it was. In the first turn, several layers of skidmarks, are not on the track but FLOATING in mid air. I know there are other issues in game but this can be added to the list of those things. I mean who lets that kind of an error pass Q/A???? The more you read about this game it just seems it was rushed out just to make EA happy, not to please the players. (slim ps3 with current FW and 1.02 update to S2U.)
 
The M3 E92 only has 6 speeds as opposed to 7. It is the dual clutch version. How can that be overlooked??!

Don't worry. EA and SMS didnt even model the Honda S2000 CR Edition correctly. It is suppose to have a rear wing but it does not!:dunce:👎👎👎 Also I notice on the stock R35 SpecV, they did not even make the Volk TE37s look real, they did just a basic design and left it at that.

It appears that I can't even change my Muffler WTF?????????

Last thing I have noticed. Ever since NFS Carbon, any car that has been in every NFS since, has the same Level 3 Bodykit only slighly modified. A Evo X with stage 3 body kit is erriely similar to my NFS: Prostreet Evo X. I miss the Undergound days of bodykits to install.

None of these issues are actually bugs
 
caterham r500 and the radical sr3 steering bug. its where the wheels turn to full lock while driving in a straight line, y'know that 900 degree lock while the driver steers normally bug.
 
One ps3 console, two psn accounts. Same one car, the same wheel settings and exactly the same car tune

On account 1. Wheel is more sharp, more tight up. There is no loosing FF while cornering.

On account 2. Wheel is less sharp, looses it's tightness. Also when taking into a corner FF suddenly looses it's strenght.

Better lap times I'm having on this first account. Which is mine. Second is my brother, and just like i mention. I did used exactly the same car, the same wheel settings and car tune. :confused: :confused:

I thought that if i replicate my settings to another account then i could drive without any problems but NO! I did copied them and i can feel noticeable difference.
 
Ever since I purchased and installed the Speedhunters DLC on PS3, I don't get the promised award money when I level up! I've missed out on over $200,000 from this glitch. WAAAAH, it's making it much more difficult to works convert my cars. =(
 
The money glitch is especially annoying, especially at the higher levels, because you need those amounts of cash to get nice cars. Happened to me all the time on PS3. PC version does not suffer from this issue.
