?? I will buy It. And a few more reading this topic. Most of the people probably in about 6 months when It's cheaper, but still. I can't wait.

@tired man; Well done, I am nowhere near that time ! How many times did you do this stage ?
I do not know how many times but i spent about 1 hour for understanding physics and finding the right setting.
Then you have to drive without mistakes.
BTW i use DF GT wheel. 👍

Well this is weird. Just got the game, PC version, in the mail at work and installed it on my laptop just so I could see the readme to confirm that my Fanatec PWTS + clubsports are supported, which the readme says they are 👍

Anyway fired up the game to have a look at the menus, laptop not powerful enough to run it so that will have to wait until I get home. Anyway, for the life of me I couldn't find anyway to exit the game!! I had to ctrl+alt+del open task manager and kill it that way. I seem to remember in the PC demo that F1 was used to exit the game but it doesn't work in the full game. Is anyone as perplexed as me or can some kind hearted sould point out to an ageing gamer what I am doing wrong

Edit: Someone asking the same over at RD. Alt+F4 brings up a box asking if you want to quit.

@ tired man; Ah, that explains. I think I have done Finland about 5-6 times, never without a mistake but always slightly better. Can't wait for the full game !

Thank you slim ^_^ WOW that video is cool lol Love the way they shot it.

I'm def getting it for PC

Finally played demo today on PS3. Obviously the steering wheel doesn't work with PS3, so I gave pad a try because I used it with Dirt2 and are the controls completely wacked? I couldn't get the car to turn AT ALL. It was SOO annoying. And I have to say the graphics are garbage. The PC version of these seems like the only worthy way to go with it. This is the biggest disappointment. I'm a huge WRC fan and was so excited. Now I'm completely bummed, I hope GT5 can fill the gap. Theres a chance I may still get the PC version, but just have to wait and see.

So i got it (PC) and will return it asap
Here are the reasons:

PC version:

1. Combined pedal need to be activated ! (are we still in the year 2k?)
2. Button layout is not good and until you change the combine pedal you can't assign buttons and i still can't do them all.
3. The game is so badly written that my PC is screaming, litterally. The fans are full on, after 5 min play. I play Mafia 2 on highest without making my PC scream. And the graphics are not that good that it could allow to make it scream.

Honestly this game is so badly developed, written (physics, graphics and menu/input), i expect the internet beeing full of complains (100x F1 complains)

And then there is all the physics faults in it (massiv understeer, when going sideways, or turning in and than hitting the brake the car just go strait instead of going sideways or spinning out,....)

Don't waste the 40 bucks on this bucket full of s***.

Wait till GT5.

If they don't take it back, i throw it in their face and leave.

For those who can't get the wheel working:
On Ps3, no controller activated, just the wheel and then start the game/demo then it should work.
On PC, combined pedals, and then where "keyboard" is written, click right

I knew it wasn't me lol Thank you for confirming this. I know Dirt 2's physics are a lil arcady, but i mean it at least FELT like a rally car haha

I will give this one more shot -_- though I'm pretty bummed you guys are returning. Really a shame they didn't spend more time on this. I think they barely spent a year developing, and i guess it shows.

played the demo for ps3 last night......and......well....

I'm kinda on the ropes about it. It's pretty good in a couple of areas but really bad in others......

Is the game different from the demo in physics? I drove the demo on the PS3 with the G27 and I have no understeer whatsoever. If anything I go trough the hairpins sideways more than in other games.

I have it (PC version)... It's not a master piece, but I think it's not a bad game :) I do not have that "fan scream" problem... My computer keeps cool. The game is ok, fun for a few weeks...

(you can also have it by piracy ;)...)

What are everyone's fastest times? I pretty much exclusively do the Jordan Rally and my best on there is a 4:19.

I may be a little late, but WRC is gonna have SERIOUS competition with this..... We could remake the REAL rally stages from this year HAHAH

I know there is random, but is it ONLY random? I guess I'll be the one to tell you guys ^_-

Its ONLY random. You can set parameters and it will create a course based on how you set the sliders per sector. You can't create a course corner for corner, you can describe it and hope the game makes it how you thought it would be in your head.

I like how it is, make it easy to create a new track and go for a drive, it puts the emphasis on driving rather than creating, and you'll probably strike a gem once in a while, but would have been cool to recreate all the great tracks that they can't fit into the game......but thats going well off topic...

Back on topic. I've only played the demo of WRC on the PS3 and only with a controller, but I felt it played well. I felt it channeled the feeling of CMR and WRC games from the PS2. It really reminds me more of the first WRC game on PS2. I wasn't a big fan of the first WRC, but each new game it became better and better. I think they have some good building blocks and its a solid first attempt, feels good IMO and it can only get better.

I was pleasantly surprised by the damage/environmental effects. Bushes being brushed aside, breaking signs and roadside wooden fences. I didn't go bashing my car up deliberately, but when I lost control and veered towards a sign or a fence, I thought I was going to hit a solid object that my car would come to a sudden stop, it actually broke where I hit the object and convincingly falls apart. Just thought it was a nice touch.

I downloaded the DEMO. But the flippers don't work of my G27. Is it possible to make them work?

EDIT. For the PS3 btw.

^ Look around in the options menu. I had the same problem.

This game feels better on wheel, but it doesnt feel good on wheel either...
I just wish more game developers could take a chance and make a sim game. Last rally game who wasnt dumbed down is from 6 years ago (Richard Burns Rally) But I heard from a member here that the gt5 rally physics felt simular to RBR :D So I have some hope !!

Bought this game yesterday, really enjoying it, very good fun, the handling is pretty solid and the stages are nice to drive. Good game.

I've tried the demo, it's a good rally game I got no complaints. maybe I will buy that if the rally part of Gt5 will not be good enough. Anyway +1 Milestone. Good job!

It may be a good idea to mention whether you are using a wheel or a controller along with comments. This may help other folks who are looking at this game.

Playing the game with a wheel was not bad and not good either, with current level of games today it is not something to spend money on, i think.

Playing with G27.

The demo is set by default to semi-auto, this might be causing your issue, try setting it to manual.

I've played it with a DFGT with manual gear and some little driving helps. Whitout any help it can be tricky but, if you like to counter-steer in a dirty track this is the game for you.. anyway I suggest everyone to try the demo so you can judge by yourself 👍

I tried the demo today and it's not really my cup of tea. I'm much more into road racing anyways though. My dad likes rallying quite a bit so he might get it. I'm waiting for gt5 though.
