Yes! So it is maintainance.
Maybe it was both. The hackers hacked into it, Sony fix that and are now doing maintenance to try and ensure that it doesn't happen again. Just a theory though.

Yeah it isn't maitnance, if it was it would have been fixed. This is still they don't have a clue how to solve the problem, but to look good in the public eyes, it is "maitnance." It will be down days at this rate.

Yes please follow the no humour / sarcasm policy in these threads. The psn is been down for ages, i'm sure a few light hearted jokes don't hurt do they ? As for the psn when i got off the phone before i was told they were hoping to have it up by tonight ( it's now 1.36am NZ standard time ), but there were no promises and most likely it would take a further 24 hours to fix. The call was made at 6.30pm NZ Standard time.

Since the outage, I've finished a number of A-Spec races and gotten a few more Gold licenses. So, the outage is paying off a bit.
But I have to admit that I'm looking forward to getting back online!! Especially on a long weekend!! Grrrrrr

Read the post about the facebook comment so I tried to get in.
Result: Error 8002A203 comes up, and when I do 'sign in' it gives the maintainence message.
So facebook commenter is either full of it or has the only working connection in Australia.
*added bit* Just read that article f_399....if I was Sony I would be delaying PSN's repairs.
