Hey Oni,
Sorry to hear about your month of hell... 👎
If you need anything for your GTP account let me know!
I have been Remote Racing the 🤬 out of your Bobs so that should help finance the whole operation! But if you need specific cars, paints or whatever just let me know. :D I know it is of little help but it's about all I can do... ;)

if you guys have a spare team spot and one other solo driver, I'd love to join ya's from your season restart, if it's not a problem that I missed the first two races.

I'll add you tonight oni, otherwise give me a shout on here or add me on PSN. GTP_Bonson

Cheers.

Lucky u took the last spot benny! glad to have you aborad guarantee you will have some fun racing :) always a close race depending what place u are in as thiers always groups batlling for that position!
and good thinking these cars do need a setup!

Just a reminder all that race 3 will begin this Monday 23rd May.

Track: Trial Mountain
Laps: 40

For the new comers the races are held from my lounge so be sure to add me to your PSN. Looking forward to finally getting this series going again now PSN is up and running.

I had a little play today on GT5. I couldn't use the wheel due to my busted up shoulder and on the controller im not sure i can last a whole race at pace.. Shoulder tends to hurt quite a lot after playing any game for awhile. I know i am way off the pace now but points are points.. even if they are at the back of the field.

I'm sure there's a joke can be made here re:

Series rules: Starting on hards, but changing to softs . . .

but nothing springs to mind :)

Hahaha oni and mic

i thought that was a good oppurtunity dont ya think thought it might make ya luagh and mic lol brought some good points up to..

Good race last night,

Unfortunately, didn't have the pace to catch lost. next time :scared:

With next race, what's the (sprint race) next too it mean?

yeah bonson, had no chance of catchin u and lost. was loosing half a second a lap, then i started pushin hard and crashed! good race though.. looking forward to rome...

GRRR!!! I'm my own worse enemy sometimes. :ill:

What happened was about half way through the race. I had a crash, pushing hard that first section of the track I went out wide under that 'flyover' bridge before the first tunnel, I was out on the grass and couldn't slow it down.

I went into the barriers at the tunnel entrance, causing serious damage to the front right. The red mist hit me, I jammed the throttle button down and tried to spin the car back around, the rear wheels all lit up. All that did was make me loose control again, I crashed into the barrier for a second time. Thanks to this, the engine was now damaged and three of the four corners of the car were damaged.

So then I had to take a deep breath, and then limp the nearly undriveable car all the way around back to the pits, I lost control a few times doing that. The game even threw me a short cut penalty for loosing control onto some grass. Ha ha funny guy :grumpy:

Other than that, I don't know . . . when the car was all in one piece and all 4 wheels healthy I was doing pretty good laps. I just gotta keep clean lines.

Clean language - not so easy.

Hey thanks bonson, i watched the replay afterwards-that quickest lap was about lap 20-22??, that tunnel left hander is the key also and the entery into the striaght with the finish u can gain some time thier for the next sector, but yeah struggled to pull away from you for awhile, woulda have been better if you were stuck to my bumber so i wasnt racing myself :)

and sprint race for rome consisit's of
2 i think 15- or 20 lap races with qually for the first race and then reverse grid from previous race.

Mmm. I had a rough night. I bumped into Oni in the first tunnel giving me engine and steering damage , so pitstop number 1 was on lap 1.

I've gotta give you guys credit for being able to drive damaged cars. I hit something with 4 laps to go so I chose to tough it out rather than going for a 5th pitstop. (yep you read it right) :ouch: But man that was hard work , add to that my shoulder was killing me by then so it wasn't just the car with damage ! Watching the replay this morning I was surprised at how many were driving with damage and still running decent lap times.

Bummer about the room connection. It wasn't too bad for me , some cars looked a little laggy , but bloody annoying for those that gave up trying to stay connected.

Yeah i cant drive a car damaged very well with a controller but man im surprised at how well it is to drive with damage on a wheel the whell locks it at one spot and it drives striaght just werid to get used to the wheel centerd when u fix the damage LOL!

Yeah that's right, took me a while to work that out. I thought: any damage = gotta pit. But yeah, you need to be able to keep driving with damage, find a way to make the car go straight and keep pushing hard.

Keep an eye on lap times, it might feel rough, but with surprisingly little laptime loss. I know last night I was running with damage only 2 seconds off my good pace. So it's not worth making an extra stop. If you're lucky you might get a 2nd knock that damages the other side and brings some balance back to the car. That happened to me last night :sly:

But then sometimes the damage is too bad, so you got to make a judgement call - also, which I did last night, nearly too late to make pit-entrance :scared: on Lap 1

Yea mick, I also had to pit on the first lap. I think it was the 1 collosion that crippled the both of us on lap 1...

Yeah , absolutely Mic. I realised that dealing with damage and having a plan to deal with it was something that I hadn't considered , let alone practiced. Sounds like its better to deal with using a wheel . On a controller I had a hell of a time !
How depressing is it pitting on lap 1 ? :nervous:

Here are the details for Race 4 Sprint Race.

Track: Rome (Sprint)
Laps: 3 x 15 laps
Tyres: Racing Softs Only

Rules
Damage: Heavy
Penalties: OFF
Reverse Grids

There will be a 5 minute break in between each race where all drivers MUST stay in the pits. During the break you CANNOT go out on the track.

As penalties are off lapped traffic will now play a part as they will not go invisible (become ghosts). So if you are being lapped you MUST give way to the car behind. However if you are in mid corner you can hold your position. As soon as you hit the straight allow the car behind to overtake.

When allowing the car behind to overtake DO NOT break hard to allow them to overtake. Simply move over to the side or hold your line and take your foot/finger off the throttle as this will allow them to pass you without causing an accident by surprising the driver behind with sudden braking.

How does the reverse grid work on races 2 & 3? Does it carry over from the results of race 1?

Is that why we go straight back to the track?

Yeah reverse grid works via previous race results. Also during the break as i stated. Nobody is to go out on track. Everyone must sit in the lobby as i dont want people getting extra practice etc in during the break time. If someone goes out on track i will dock points off them. Will be -5 points each time someone goes out on track during the break.

Sounds good to be able to have a toilet / smoko break this race, i seem to always needa go at the start of the enduros.... see you all thier tonight.

Just a note regarding disconnections during break time.

If anyone disconnects during a break time or rejoins the room the reverse grid system will put them on pole. To combat this the driver who rejoins MUST allow everyone on the field to overtake them on the first lap. Once everyone has overtaken them they are then allowed to race back through the pack.

So please follow these rules to keep the racing fair and even.
